BC update - this can't be healthy
luvbug00 wrote: So day 4 on BC ( started sun night) . still having persistent bad BM and vomiting and nausea. I have lost 2 lbs . I have to go in again on thursday becasue she gives test results in person so when i go i'm swiching to the mini pill because this is not happening.
gr33n3y3z replied: nope its not good with all the problems ppl. have with them why not use another means of BC?
luvbug00 replied:
*nuva ring or internal barrier - NO, I'm not sticking anything up there and taking it out before AF.
* depo- heck no! possible 18 months to get preg. after getting off.
* most other things are long term and there is no way!
I refused to take birth control at all up to this relationship because i never wanted to. my BFF was shocked when i said i was going to start becasue she knows it's not me.
gr33n3y3z replied: then why do it? Because at some point you have to ask yourself is this worth it when it effects your life style/health. And there are other means(short term) of BC over the shelves in the stores we used them and it worked just fine.
luvbug00 replied:
because it's what is "responcible" right now. Health wise i'm always concerned.
MommyToAshley replied: I'd talk to your doctor about your concerns. I know a lot of people that have problems with BC pills. My doc eventually wants me to take them to help with fibroids, but I am hesitant.

luvmykids replied: What about an IUD? They're good for a long period of time but can always be removed earlier.
luvbug00 replied: Monica i'm just scared of that form because when i get off bc to get pregnat i want to get preg ASAP. i'd be afraid hormones could draw out the prosses.
luvmykids replied: Gotcha Sorry you're having so much trouble....I never did well with BC either
grapfruit replied: Well I know it's gross but NuvaRing was EASY, you could even insert it or take it out in the shower... I know you don't really have a ton of options
luvbug00 replied: thanks Casey i appricate the information but its just not for me.
gr33n3y3z replied: ok then what is wrong with condoms and foam or something like that?
luvbug00 replied:
for me ..absolutely nothing. I don't mind using the condoms at all.
he ...complains about the smell of the latex and lube, complains about the only 88% effectiveness and claims "mature, serious , responcible coupples do not use condoms"
grapfruit replied: No problem. To be honest, I thought that before I tried it too, my only thought was, "Eww gross". But then faced w/pill or Depo (which I had tried and DID NOT like) I "test fit" one in the doctor's office. It wasn't as bad as I thought.
Condoms are actually really effective IF used correctly every time (see article below)
So really, using condoms is responsible (that's what we're doing now). Totally needed a break from the BC.
I think that if BC effects you THAT bad, then it may not be a resonable solution for you. I know they're a pain, but the don't mess w/your hormones, and they easy. (Plus they speed clean up )

Condoms Are Effective in Preventing Unintended or Unwanted Pregnancy. In one year, only two of every 100 couples who use condoms consistently and correctly will experience an unintended pregnancy—two pregnancies arising from an estimated 8,300 acts of sexual intercourse, for a 0.02 percent per-condom pregnancy rate.[3] In one year with perfect use (meaning couples use condoms consistently and correctly at every act of sex), 98 percent of women relying on male condoms will remain pregnancy free. With typical use, 85 percent relying on male condoms will remain pregnancy free.[3] In one year with perfect use, 95 percent of women relying on the female condom will remain pregnancy free. With typical use, 79 percent relying on female condoms will remain pregnancy free.[3] By comparison, only 15 percent of women using no method of contraception in a year will remain pregnancy free
luvbug00 replied: I'll show him that Casey. thanks.
Our Lil' Family replied: What about a diaphragm?
grapfruit replied: Here's a little secret: I'm hoping one night we use it INCORRECTLY But dont' tell Tim I said that!!
luvbug00 replied: naomi, i thought about it but the appeal is about th same as a nuvaring. to insert anything would not be an option for me. i just can't do it. i have tried insertable menstual bowls and they were gross and so now the thought of sticking anything there is not happening. I really appricate all the help with the options everyone. thank you!
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Ok so it's just YOU that's grossed out by puttin git in, right? Not the fact that it would actually be in there, it's just putting it in that grosses you out? Why ont have HIM do it?
Then if he fudges up, you get the baby you want anyways.
