At what age did you move your..

MommyToAshley replied: Ashley is 2.5 years old and is still in a crib. She can climb out if she wanted to, but she doesn't. I have been hesitant on switching her to a toddler bed because I am sure that if I switched her to a toddler bed, she wouldn't take a nap and I know she would get up a hundred times before going to bed at night. She is one of those kids that fights sleep. I know I am going to have to do it soon... very soon, I am just soooo reluctant.

stanleygirl replied: I moved DS around two, we acted like it was a treat for him to pick a big boy bed, and mostly DS just went along with it. I was also worried that he wouldn't take a nap, and that bedtime would be more difficult, and it was at first, but I made it a routine and it helped. We put him to bed with a few books, he likes the light on until he falls asleep, generally we have no problems, but if he comes out of his room then we close the door, and he really does not like that. BTW we got DS a guard rail for the bed (cheap), it works and he likes it!

littlemama replied: So you mean their own bed, lol Breanna was in her big bed at a year, in mine off and on. Ryan and Darian last yr, 1 1/2...still trying to get them to stay in bed.

Mom2Boyz replied: Conner is 17 months, and still in his crib. I've also been wondering when would be a good time to switch. But I think for us, with a new baby comming in just a few weeks, it would be better to wait until he's use to sharing a room with his brother. I don't think it would be a good idea to add even more change and confussion for him.
He doesn't climb out of his crib (yet) so I"m not too worried about it just yet.

b&bsmom replied: I moved my dd on her 2nd birthday. We had people over and she went into her room shut the door and that was it. My ds however we waited till about almost 2 and a half. He never slept through the night till a year and a half and I was so worried about him going to sleep. his crib changed to a bed first so we did that and he loved it and slept well and then we gave him ds old race car bed which he loves. Naps however he stopped them around 2 so that was not an issue. Hope it helps.

~KARA~ replied: youngest dd was 16mo when we moved her. Oldest dd never slept in a toddler bed. She went from a crib to a twin size bed.

kel replied: just after she turned 2:)..and she went straight from a cot into a single bed with a rail (so that she doesnt fall out) and surprisingly we had NO PROBLEMS! i thought it would really cause havoc with her sleep but it didnt at all

kel replied: oh and just to add with the rail she cant get out on her own..i dont think she thinks she can:)
i just put her in bed and shut the door..no hassle at all..

bwalkerletters replied: Maddie is 19 months old and I'm about to make the move now. She climbs out of her bed, so there's no use in trying to keep her in it.
