Are ya'll getting anything for teachers?

Hillbilly Housewife wrote: I have NO CLUE what to get.... we're also getting something for the bus drivers.

I was thinking a nice decorative box, with muffins inside? I don't know. I don't particularly want to spend money on junk that the teacher will throw out after a while, you know? I don't particularly care to give chocolates either, since I KNOW that Zach's teacher is a health freak, toothpick thin, watches what she eats... but muffins she can share with the other teachers, you know?

dunno.gif

what are ya'll giving?

lisar replied: I am getting Lexi's teacher something. I have no clue what to get her though. I asked Lexi what she likes and she doesnt know. So I am just gona go and get her a teachers bag and some candles and things to put in it. Other than that I am not sure what else to get.

luvmykids replied: I was going to have the kids make something but couldn't think of anything great (and fast LOL) so they're both giving their teachers mini bath sets of gingerbread scented stuff. I found them at a dollar store so if they aren't into that kind of thing and regift at least I didn't shell out a lot of money laugh.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: yep we got resin snowman photo orniments and put her school picture in it. I just need to find some small bags to put them in. I want to pass them out next week. I just need to figure out who she wantes to give them two. She has 6.

skinkybaby replied: Gracie goes to Mother's Day Out and I got her teachers $25 gift cards to Bath Junkie

3xsthefun replied: I haven't really thought about getting the teacher anything. We will probably just give her a Christmas card. I don't know to much about her teacher anyways.

booey2 replied: One of DH's co-workers makes chocolates on the side and does a Chocolate CD in a case with a personalized cover with a cute poem and saying, so that is what we are giving the boys teachers, we give them the same thing every year.

mom21kid2dogs replied: We got a gift certificate for Scholastic books for her classroom (K) and O made a bunch of ornaments for her teacher & class so we're doing that as well.

sparkys2boys replied: Logan's school has a no gift policy. The kids don't give to teachers and the teachers don't give gifts among themselves. It keep feelings from being hurt if a certain family can't afford to give a teacer a gift and that child then feeling left out. They have a program that insted of gifts you can give money in a card to a box by the office and it goes to one of the many charties that our school supports.

Jamison'smama replied: We bought a gift for the classroom and I'm not sure what we are getting the teachers...maybe gift cards. Last year we gave them GCs to a local restaurant.

paradisemommy replied: taven's got four at his preschool and this year i got them each a bottle of wine..they are going through so many changes at the preschool that i figured they would enjoy it since after monday they have a nice long 3 wk break. it used to be my favorite wine back in the day when i drank and i got it on base so it was really cheap..smile.gif

ediep replied: one of the moms in Jasons class collected money to buy the teachers a big gift from the class

holley79 replied: I am getting CCP a gift card to a resturant or to a store. I haven't figured out which one yet.

TANNER'S MOM replied: I always give one of those engraved ornaments with the Tanner's name and the year.. I am sure she will keep them for her class tree. I also always get little things for the class.. last year it was stickers.. to give to the students. Post it notes and pens for her. I also gave her a box of popcorn and a block buster gift card. She said she loved it.. cause she could curl up and watch a movie while on break.

I have no idea what to get his teacher this year.. but we will come up with something and fast..lol

gr33n3y3z replied: no bc Katie has to many of them

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Gift certificates to the local movie theater.

jem0622 replied: I'm making a spiced tea mix and will give them that with a mug. I am also making cookies and might put a few in too.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm making hot cocoa mix (snowman soup), my famous pickles happy.gif , several kinds of cookies, chocolate covered pretzels and I'm dividing it up amongst 11 people between the 2 schools.

Brias3 replied: I was trying to do something creative as well this year but ran out of ideas and time. I got their teachers (plus Aliyah's speech therapist) a gift card for Barnes and Noble and I think I'll include a pair of earrings. I found these ADORABLE handmade beaded earrings while we were down in FL in June for a great price so I ended up picking up a bunch of pairs for extra gifts for birthdays, Christmas, whatever. I got these cute pouches to put them in on clearance at Target and so I think I'll wrap up a pair for each teacher along with the GC.

Crystalina replied: Myself and another room mother have quietly collected school pictures of the children in Izabella's class. We supplied the kids with "stuff" and they made ornaments out of their pictures. Then we are attaching all of their ornaments/pics to a wreath that will have the class and year on it and we are giving it to Izabella's teacher at the end of the Christmas party.
