Are YOU dressing for Halloween?

amynicole21 wrote: I am the worlds least creative person when it comes to Halloween costumes. We have a costume party tomorrow and I've been putting off figuring out what I'm going to wear because I hate dressing up. DH will be a vampire. Any ideas for me? I was thinking of just using some of his fake blood and being his "victom" so that I can just wear my regular clothes wink.gif

kimberley replied: i don't plan to.. but you never know what will happen. if i work tonight, i have to rolleyes.gif all i have is a tired old vampiress outfit. whatever.

maybe you could do like interview with a vampire.. those old fashioned dresses with the crinolin and pull your hair back, whiten your face and draw in the blood marks on your neck. dunno.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: yep we are going to a party, not sure what DH will be but I will either be a photographer or a tourist

see I have to take pictures for a slide show so I figured I could make it easy and go with a theme that had to do with taking pics rolling_smile.gif

favre4fan replied: I am the only one that usually dresses up for work but I got up too late. I am going to be little red riding hood!!

MomofJandB replied: Although I am not dressing up this year, I once went as a pirate! It was easy. Roll up some black pants (or wear capris), put on red or striped socks, black boots, white shirt, a bandana in a triangle(or just a piece of red material) around my waist with a hat and eye patch. I have to admit, I looked pretty cute tongue.gif

Good luck, let us know what you decide!

MomToMany replied: Nope, I haven't dressed up since I was about 10. I'm not creative at all.

redchief replied: We'll be at a band competition. Seems like we're always at a band competition. Can't wait til Nov. 14 (effective end of band season)

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Be the bride of frankenstein or something like that. dunno.gif Maddie's teacher was a cat. She got cat ears and wore a black turtleneck and put a tail in her jeans. tongue.gif Her administrator was a lamb...cutest thing I've ever seen. I'm not very creative, either. Since Maddie is Dorothy and Ethan is the cowardly lion, Maddie insisted I go as Glenda the good witch and DH go as the wizard. She is so cute. wub.gif I just don't know how I would pull that off at such a late date. I never thought to do it. unsure.gif

Good Luck and HAVE FUN!! thumb.gif

favre4fan replied: Tee hee I decided last minute so i ran in Target last night and their costumes were 30% off ! can't beat that. smile.gif

amynicole21 replied: My two friends are identical twins and are going as the Swan... before and after! rolling_smile.gif One will put in buck teeth and dress really badly with messed up hair, and the other will look like a glamour girl. I think that is hysterical laugh.gif

Sunflower04 replied:
lol- I wish I had a twin so I can do that for Halloween.

favre4fan replied:

That is so creative and hilarious!!!

jcc64 replied: A couple of easy ones that don't require anything cumbersome to wear.

#1- Wear a solid black shirt. Get some white masking tape, put a dotted line vertically down the center. Pin a beanie baby animal to your shirt, put some ketchup on it, and go as "Roadkill".

#2- Pin socks and dryer sheets all over your shirt. Gel or spray your hair so it sticks straight out, and go as "Static"

#3- Around the time the cult classic "Mommie Dearest" came out, 1 of my friends(who happened to be a guy) wore a 40's style dress with huge shoulder pads and makeup and went as Joan Crawford, and another went as her beleagured daughter Christina with a wire hanger around her neck. Not sure anyone would get the allusion now, but it was hilarious at the time.

Dh once carved out an eggplant, attached a string and made it into a mask, accessorized with various other vegetables, and went as a vegetarian. (This one didn't have the longevity of the 1st two, after awhile the eggplant started to dehydrate and sort of collapsed on his face, which was comical on top of his already ridiculous costume).

Halloween is a BIG deal in my town, the freaks come out of the woodwork, and you feel self conscious if you DON'T dress up. Still haven't figured mine out yet, but it will be something topical.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: LOL!!!!!!! I love the indentical twin costume. Now that is creative. I will be dressing up as a fairy for Halloween. Some great places to go for last minute ideas are Hot Topic and Spencer Gifts. They always have stuff and I think they start to discount stuff as it gets closer to the holiday. I actually like the victim idea. That should be fairly easy to do. Good Luck!!!

amynicole21 replied: Those are great suggestions, Jeanne! Thanks! thumb.gif

Josie83 replied:
How can you tell us you're not creative! We've heard of your plans for your kids' costumes - you sound like you're well creative! By the way Maddie is so sweet1 xx

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I'm not creative and I have nothing interesting to do smile.gif......so I think I will go out as a Mommy smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm not doing anything this year...I miss it though. Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.

Amy, maybe you could go as a fashion victim? That's pretty easy to pull off...or a hobo...wait...hobo=homeless....not so PC....nevermind. lol

I saw one guy dressed up in a dress shirt and pants with his hair all gelled up straight. He put a hanger in his tie and it was angled up by his face. When you asked him what he was he held up his hands and said "I'm Faaaalllllling" rolling_smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: What about going as a stressed out housewife. Hair all a mess, face mudd on your face, robe, slippers.....not creative at all but sounds pretty comfy except the face mudd. rolling_smile.gif

Sorry I'm not creative and that's probably why I don't like Halloween. rolleyes.gif

amynicole21 replied:
That's basically what I was last year laugh.gif I was dressed as a tired mommy - in my pj's with dark circles under my eyes and a burp cloth on my shoulder.

MomToMany replied: Wow, those are some great ideas everyone!

rolling_smile.gif LOL, at the "Swan" costumes! That would be a sight to see!

A&A'smommy replied: LOL those are some really funny ideas! I think everyone had one!! rolling_smile.gif

Alice replied: This year I'm a pirate: (similiar to another post): black pants & boots, red & white striped T shirt, black vest, cheapo hat & eyepatch (which won't last: it's REALLy annoying) and one hoop earing.

Last year: Santa. Red fleecy PJs (why I own them, I don't know) black belt and boots, Santa hat.

Previous year: (I was 6 months preggo, and dad was in hospice, so I had lots of black maternity clothes... he was touch and go for a long time): a witch. Black tights, shoes, skirt & top, sprayed my hair grey, lots of whitish makeup, cheapo hat.

Some other year: ghost. Thrift shop white gown (nightgown would do), White makeup, white spray on hair. The makeup really makes this costume... don't be afraid to overdo.

another I remember: Ronald McDonald (in college... I was meeting friends afterwards, so I actually went to a graduate class like this) red & white feety PJ's (again, why did I own them???) yellow apron w/ "M" on it, very RED spray in teased hair, white makeup

ediep replied: we had a party last night, I was minnie mouse and DH was a whoopie coushin.
