Appt. didn't go well today. :(

CantWait wrote: Well today I had my 36 week checkup and it didn't go well. I have lost weight since my last appt 2 weeks ago and the baby hasn't grown. The doctor is concerned and is therefore sending me for an u/s on Thursday to check the fetal growth. sad.gif This is one u/s I'm not looking forward to.

She also did a pelvic to check dialation etc....she said that I'm thinning out and my cervix is soft, so she stopped the exam right there, so not to cause harm. grrrrrrrr I don't baby is going to stay.

Will update you on thursday if the tech lets me know anything, if not my next appt is next Thursday, geez that's almost 2 weeks away.

Mommieto2Girls replied: I'm sorry to hear it didn't go well. ~~~~~sending grow and healthy vibes to baby~~~~~~
I hope all goes well on Thursday. Keep us posted. Try to relax and stay calm. grouphug.gif

supermom replied: I know how frustrating that is, especially not having DH there to share it with! Please take it easy, and relax and just think good thoughts

And here's a great big grouphug.gif for you!

Let us know of any other developments - you'll be in our thoughts and prayers......

MommyToAshley replied: I remember reading in one or two of my PG books that you slow down on weight gain the last month and you may not gain weight the last week or two of your PG. (I think one said that you might even lose weight) Is it possible that your dates are off and you are further along than you thought?

Try not to worry too much. Get some rest!!! And, let us know how the U/S goes if the tech tells you anything. Maybe you can call your Doc for the results instead of waiting 2 weeks for another appt just to put your mind at ease!

Hugs! grouphug.gif grouphug.gif

~CrazieMama~ replied: Sorry to hear about your appointment. Try to think positive and all will turn out fine. Hugs to you....... grouphug.gif

CantWait replied: I thought that I was further along in the beginning, but after both u/s, it confirmed that I'm not actually as far as originally thought.

I might just have to call the doc, never thought about that.

P.S. Got a bit more packing done today....son's bag is all ready for the sitters, and all I gotta do is pack the discman and burn a couple cd's then throw it all in the car.

booey2 replied: Hugs to you. Sorry you appt didn't go to well. Maybe the babe is just ready to make an appearance sooner than expected. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Stay put vibes to your little one. grouphug.gif

Sorry your appointment didn't go well. I know I lost weight towards the end of my PG with Hannah. Just an idea, does she mean the fundal height isn't higher? Has the baby "dropped" yet? Once the baby "drops", your fundal height will be smaller. I went from measuring 41 cm at 39 weeks down to 38 cm at 40+ weeks (she was 9 days late).

Yes, I would call the Dr. for the results instead of waiting the 2 weeks for the results (even if it might mean another office visit).

Hope everything goes well! I'll be thinking of you!

Lots of grouphug.gif for you!

Just sending some healthy baby vibes.
Good luck to you! grouphug.gif

And maybe the baby is just like mommy and "CAINTWAIT" to meet you!!!!

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Sorry to hear you didn't like hearing what your doctor has to say.... but like others said, it's pretty common not to gain any weight or even lose a couple pounds in the last few weeks of pregnancy.

I gained 78 pounds or so with Zach, and only 1 of those was in the last month.

Call your doctor if you're relaly concerned! And keep us updated!

ediep replied: sorry about your appointment, I am sure that everything will turn out fine! Your belly won't measure bigger once the baby drops, maybe that is what happened. I know when I was in my last month, the ob told me that the measurement isn't accurate anymore since the baby is lower.
Good Luck!!!
Relax!!!

CantWait replied: nope still haven't dropped, so I suppose that's a good thing.....

Thanx for the reminder ashade75, I forget I'm not the only one that wants to get this over with sometimes.

I just don't see why the doctor was making a big deal out of it. Now DH is all worried, last thing he needs when he's overseas sad.gif
