Anyone seen a little black kitten?

DVFlyer wrote: Guess it was bound to happen.... Chloe's kitten, Molly, sneaks out of the house now and then when we're not looking. It happened last Saturday and she hasn't been seen since.

This was one of the kittens that was born in our house. We kept her because she was the runt. Chloe's taking it pretty good. I don't think she's quite at the age where she has strong attachments to things yet.

DVFlyer replied: hmmm... she looks more black in person... blink.gif

boyohboyohboy replied: lol! maybe the cat wasnt black to begin with and thats why you think she is missing???

Have you seen this cat around lately? wub.gif

cameragirl21 replied: That is a gorgeous kitten. I am sad that you lost her, she likely won't survive outside on her own. sad.gif

coasterqueen replied: bawling.gif That cat reminds me of my Smokey. Smokey had shorter hair, but those same markings. bawling.gif

I hope she finds her cat soon. hug.gif hug.gif

BTW, Smokey took off in the dead of winter once for 2 weeks. I watched for her every day hoping she'd come to the door one night. And one night she finally did. Took two depressing weeks, though. dry.gif

There's still hope!

DVFlyer replied:
Ya... She's too small to survive on her own, I think. She has her claws, but I don't think that will do her much good given her size.

It's sad because she was Chloe's kitten for sure. Every night, when Chloe would go to bed, Molly would come running in and settle right on top of Chloe.

Her mother still sleeps in our garage (she was the cat the old neighbor left when they moved). We feed her and I installed a kitty door in the garage door so she always has a place to sleep, but is otherwise an outside cat. We also paid to have her spayed so they're won't be anymore kittens. wink.gif

I don't have high hopes of Molly coming back, but who knows....

DVFlyer replied:
Michelle's father-in-law said the same thing about a cat he lost.... 3 weeks later and he came back.

coasterqueen replied:
Smokey also didn't have her claws. We had declawed her and wanted her to be an inside kitty, but she had other dreams...she wanted outside. And she lasted two weeks out in the bitter cold and in the country w/o claws......so don't give up hope! happy.gif

mom21kid2dogs replied: Awww . . .hopes she makes an unexpected return home soon!

Boo&BugsMom replied: She looks like our Taz, only he's got shorter hair. He's a brown-tabby.

I hope you find her soon. She looks so sweet. wub.gif

DVFlyer replied: Well, no word or sightings of Molly.... sad.gif Hopefully she'll make her way back still.

We told Chloe we would get her another kitten and if Molly came back, she could keep both. smile.gif

So without further adieu, here is our, as of yet, un-named kitten fresh from the Humane Society. Her name there was Kahlua, but we don't think we'll keep that one. She spent some time with a foster family who had small children so she is used to kids, or at least as much as a little 9 week old kitten can be.

We will try to be more diligent in keeping the door closed so this one can't sneak out.

mckayleesmom replied: awww...she is adorable...I hope Molly is safe wherever she is and returns soon.

luvbug00 replied: our cats would leave for months at a time. one was gone for 5 and came right back. They all lived to be 18. never underestimate the kitties. they have their ways and minds of their own. Dont be surprised when molly shows up at the turkey dinner. they have a knack for comming when a big meal is available..lol
hope she comes home soon.

CantWait replied: Sorry for your lost kitten, I hope she makes it back safely. Your new addition is adorable.

mom21kid2dogs replied: Darling kitty! Enjoy!

coasterqueen replied: Aww, very cute!!!!! Hope the other one comes back as well. hug.gif

DVFlyer replied: It would be nice if Molly came back... the new kitty would love to have a buddy.
