Anyone else sensitive to certain noises?

I think mine has come from having migraines, which heighten your senses, but anytime I had one in the past I feel like I hear every little sound magnified by a million... then, in the past several years I get really annoyed by certain noises all the time, headache or not.

The ones that REALLY irk me are;
- When my dad breathes through his nose (or anyone else who breathes loudly through their nose)
- When someone makes that noise with their mouth, ya know when your tongue is dry and it sticks and you open your mouth it makes that "thwick" sound... BLECH!
- The sound of someone rubbing a napkin or tissue through their fingers
- The scritching sound of someone using a pencil to write

Yep... I'm nuts!

Oh and as for the mircrowave, it's beeping actually makes my ears pop (I have no idea why )

i also hate the rubbing of styrofoam when you open a package packed in styrofoam.
love the sound of chirping crickets and cicadas and the frogs that chirp around my pond at night.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: People smacking when eating...the noise it makes makes me very angry. Not to mention it's rude.

I can't stand a loud beat in a song when the song itself isn't a "beat-y" song... like in Sexyback, by J.Timberlake... I can't stand the smacking sound the drum makes.

I don't like the sound skin against skin makes during..uh... well you know.

Metal on concrete is another that makes my skin crawl.

Too much treble in music, and very little bass- it has to be equalized or a slight bit more bass than treble.

I also hate really loud noise right when I wake up, which is probably why alarm clocks annoy me. I can't have the tv up loudly when I get up because it irritates me.

Celestrina replied: screeching children in general. I work in a mall. Santa is to the right and a small train the kids can ride is to the left. Sometimes all you can hear are kids screaming because they want to see the train or Santa, or they are afraid of them. Sometimes I feel really sorry for these kids. The parents take them to the mall, keep them there past their nap/bedtime, and probably give them soda and/or candy. They are dragging around a bored, exausted child wired on sugar and caffeine then get angry when the kids get nasty. What do they expect?

Smacking gum.

mummy2girls replied: yes.. the nails agaisnt the chalk board when i was younger and still today. and when someone is shoveliong and then get some rocks under the snow and drag it... UGH!!!!

Like the sound of someone scratching their head or somewhere on their skin, the sound of someone brushing their teeth... that one just makes me go Umm... when someone is eating really noisily or chewing with their mouth open, or when you're talking to someone on the phone and you can hear them eating something. I'm guilty of doing that sometimes though - I really shouldn't do it because the sound just makes me ill when someone else is doing it! My mom is ALWAYS eating something when I talk on the phone to her and it's so loud.

Lets see I have more lol... someone clipping their fingernails or filing them, static or interference on the radio, a buzzing alarm clock, someones fork scratching on their plate, and of course fingernails on a chalkboard.
Oh and someone cracking their fingers or toes - people are always doing that around me because they know it drives me crazy.
