~Roo'sMama~ replied: I think I use the one in the Betty Crocker cookbook. I've never had a problem with my sugar cookies getting dry but they don't ususally last long enough to really test it!

Kaitlin'smom replied: I have not made the from scratch in a long time, but I dont have that problem, my sister does, and I found she is over cooking them, and her oven temp is off.
do you know if your oven temp is correct? meaning is the inside the temp you set it at?
mckayleesmom replied: I'm not sure...how do you check that?
I had one recipe everyone loved. I hadn't made them since we lived in Florida and I use to make them all the time.
I made them the other day and they were like little bricks....
Kaitlin'smom replied: I woudl bet to say your oven temp is off then.
you will need a oven thermometer heat the oven 350 seems to be pretty common once you oven is hot put the thermomert in (they sell ones that clip to the rack) and let it tell you what the temp is really. then once you know that you can adjust accordingly.
mckayleesmom replied: I will have to go buy one of those....thanks for the tip.
Kaitlin'smom replied: your welcome, I hope it helps and is the simple solution
grapfruit replied: Di you're so smart! I would of never thought of that!!!
