Anybody ever made a coke and mentos rocket?

C&K*s Mommie replied: No. but on one of those website where you submit home videos for others to see (the name of the site slips my mind right now) there are some guys who do that alll over their house, in the bathroom sink, in the bathtub, etc. And they do it to music I think. They also did it with several Mentos at one time. I also think one or two of the guys pours Coke in his mouth then puts the Mentos in, I remember one nearly choking because of all the foam.

Have fun if you do it! I will try to find that website to link to the video. ETA: It was Diet Coke that worked best in this video.

Boys r us replied: I'm DYING to try this!!! One of our local radio stations played a game called, "take it to the face" for concert tickets. Basically, they had people outside the station and they had 2 liter bottles of coke and were putting like a whole pack of mentos in each bottle creating 25 ft explosions and the contestants had to stand over top of the bottles and "take it to the face".

I didn't see this take place but they were on the air as they were doing it and also posted pics on their site of it in progress, it was hysterical!!!

Kaitlin'smom replied: our local radio station did it a couple weeks ago, they used diet coke, they took pics and it was pretty amazing the height they got out of it. Also kinda creepy at the same time.

Jeffs Wife replied: No but I saw David Letterman do it one night. It was pretty cool, but he said it didn't work as well as he thought it would. It exploded but it didn't go that high into the air.

Jackie012007 replied: OMG guys it is SOOO MUCH FUN... we did it in a physics class, and yes diet soda works best because the aspertame causes a more severe reaction. I also remember seeing on TV or something, these guys made rockets with intricate workings and were able to imitate the famous Bellagio fountains... it was AWESOME

Kirstenmumof3 replied: My kids just did this a few weeks ago. I have no idea where they heard this from, but I have a feeling it was from my friend. I wasn't here when they did it but apparently they had a lot of fun!
