Anybody else's DH/SO a big baby - when they are sick??
MomToMany wrote: UGH!!! DH is THE biggest baby when he is sick. He moans and groans constantly! I just want to tell him to shut up already, I know you're sick! Then that's his excuse to take nice, long naps while I'm working on cables and trying to watch the kids, too.
It's like this everytime! And he's one of those pill-poppers who at the first inkling of pain, he needs something ASAP!
Big baby!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Oh, of course my DH is a big baby when he is sick. He demands attention and sympathy. He even wants to be babied. But, when I am sick I get no such attention or sympathy. He practically ignores me. Hang in there...it can't last forever.
ediep replied: YUP, MINE TOO!! He moan and graons, complains that he can't get a good night sleep, and says that he can't help take care of Jay becaus ehe doesn't want to spread germs
5littleladies replied: LOL!!! I am having this problem tonight. Dh has a headache and a bit of a tummy ache and he is moaning and groaning and complaining. He was going to clean the basement today but is too sick to do that and now he just wants to sit and watch a movie. Why is it that when I'm sick I am still expected to cook, clean and watch the kids but he gets to do nothing?
Zoe'sMommaCamie replied: Oh Mollie! I know what you mean! Keith is a bigger baby than Zoe is when he is "under the weather". He expects to be his personal servant and wait on him hand and foot (like i don't already do that for him LOL)
Men
MomToMany replied: Yep, exactly. Although he gets to sleep while the kids are screaming, the house is a mess, and I'm trying to cook supper .
KatieLeigh79 replied: Mine has almost lost his life many times with his "illnesses" He takes more tummy meds and asprin then most terminally ill people and if I comment on it I get "gee thanks for being so supportive, love you to" But he always seems to come down with something and want to be taken to the med center about 3 minutes before I go to bed at night which requires getting back up, dressed, contacts in and JR taken out of bed so that I can take him in... Last week he felt like he was having a heart attack - the Dr. gave him sleeping pills and sent him home, with a rather sympathetic look at me around 1am when they sent us out - I think he's a little of a hypocondriac but so is his mother so I can see where he gets it..... With everyone and the responses its great to see I'm not alone
Josie83 replied: I think men are just built like that. Born pansies! Jason isn't so bad but if he has a cold its more like the flu, a headache is a migraine blah blah. My sister and I call it the man-flu when he and her boyfriend have colds, because let's face it they're never JUST colds, they're always at death's door. But when its the other way round we're still expected to be super woman! MEN!! xx
MommyToAshley replied:
OMG!! LOL!! That is SOOO Funny -- THE MAN FLU --- LOL!
DH is right there with the rest of the guys and the Man Flu. Although, he is good about taking care of Ashley when I am sick.
MomToMany replied: LOL, Josie!! That's a good one!
Kaitlin'smom replied: same here when he is sick he gets whiny and cant do anything but what he feels like but if I am sick I still have to take care of Kaitlin, made me so mad the frist 2 times, so I taught him a lesson, now he is still whiny when he is sick but at least when I dont feel good he will take care of Kaitlin more.
booey2 replied: You all have described my DH to a "T". The only way I can get down time if I am sick is to just plain pass out asleep and even then I am not garaunteed to be woken up by screaming kids but at least he then realizes that I am really and truely sick.(This just happened this weekend as I am suffering with a sinus infection again and literally passed out on Saturday only to be awaken by screaming kids and no DH in sight.)
Don't you all know that Moms aren't supposed to sick. That is what I am always told when i get sick around here. My doctor even jokes with me about it when they see me come in by myself they now i am pretty sick then.
Littlejojames replied: Oh god not MANFLU
They turn into such children
But when were ill its ONLY A COLD???!!!!!
God they are wimps heavan forbid they have to give birth????!!!!!
KatieLeigh79 replied: Sounds like when I called Todd the day JR was born and said "I feel ~funny~ I wonder if its labor (in a large amount of pain)" and his response is "well when I get home from work we can take you in (8 hours later he was home)"... *lol* Somewhere I had a joke which showed a man in labor and what it would look like... wonder what I ever did with it
mummy2girls replied: i dont have a SO or DH but with aron OMG! he whines if he gets a cold sore. he is in bed sleeping all day if he has a cold..LOL. He expectes everyone to wait on him and he complains so much i want to slap him. but if i should get the flu i am expected to do everything on my own. I think i have built up a good imunne system because i rarely get sick now. Being a mom does that... LOL.
Kirstenmumof3 replied: OMG totally a suck when he is sick! I swear they revert back to being children when they are sick!
Lollie replied: Oh my hubby can also be such a baby when hes supposedly sick!!!!
He will just have a little cough and then hes sooooooo sick...under the blankets he jumps and all is woe for him!!!!!Now when I know hes just exagerating...I tell him to hire a nurse!!!
3xsthefun replied: Yep! He is such a freaking big baby when he is sick. He wants all the attention he can get.
A&A'smommy replied: MEN they are UNBELIEVABLE! But my dh either ALWAYS has a tummy ach (nerves) so he isn't always too bad when he is sick.... I feel for you though that SUCKS! (((((HUGS))))
Josie83 replied: These posts were all hilarious, they really made me Men are so stupid sometimes, they really crack me up! : : xx
MomToJade&Jordan replied: MANFLU!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!
Oh this is so true. I sware when DH is sick it's like the whole world is going to end. I have drop everything and make sure he gets all of the love and attention that he needs. BUT when Mommy is sick I get the suck it up speech. Face it ladies this is why we are the ones having the babies. If they can't even live through a little cold that certainly won't be able to give birth.
MomToMany replied: LOL!! You guys are so funny!!
