Anybody else get this wind?
Crystalina wrote: omg, it's nuts! It has finally settled down but I was freaking all night that a tree would fall on the house. Our house is 100% surrounded by trees (with only our driveway as an opening). Nice for summer but I chew my acrylic nails every time it's windy.
grapfruit replied: Good imagery!
Oh and yes, I heard on the news that there was a 78 MPH wind recorded in the "viewing area".
stella6979 replied: It's not too bad here now, but last night was crazy!!!
luvmykids replied: Yes, and it's been AWFUL The last two nights both me and the kids have been woken up by things flying around outside....Monday night at about 11 it was so bad I had to go out and weigh things down We're supposed to get more snow with it tonight too....thats always fun
MommyToAshley replied: YES... I thought our house was going to blow over last night. I heard on the radio this morning that the winds got up to 72 MPH! Isn't that almost equivilent to a hurricane?
It's still windy this morning, not as bad, but it's cold. They say with the wind chill, it's -10 degrees outside. Brrrr!
Kaitlin'smom replied: I know we had it but I was in the theatre seeing Chicago when the biggest part hit or so I was told, and I did not hear anything big last night.......
coasterqueen replied: Dh and I were talking about that last night. It seems like the wind is much worse this winter. Yesterday we went from temps of 64 at noon and then by 3/4 pm it was in the 20's with snow/sleet/wind and then a low of 9. Yesterday was crazy weather here!
Crystalina replied: Wow, I wonder if our wind was in the 70s I wouldn't doubt it but I didn't watch the news. We had schools delayed today because of the wind. Not my kids' schools though. They cancel for nothing. Even when it's snowing they expect you to get on the 4wheeler or something. That's ok though because when all the other schools are making up days our kids are enjoying the summer break.
I'll have to watch the news and see what the winds were. I've been too busy watching MSNBC.
Crystalina replied: Wow! I could love to have been doing that!
sparkys2boys replied: I hear ya. We are just getting over this ice storm and half the island still has no power and they are calling for 90mph winds tonight. NOT GOOD.. the tress are so heavey with ice I am sure more will break. Last night HUGE part of our tree and fell and hit the neighbors patio.. scary. They are super close to our house and if it had fell this way I am sure it went of went through the roof. I am not looking forward to tonight at all.
Kaitlin'smom replied: It was good, they did have a little issues with sound the 2nd 1/2 not sure what was going on there.....but it was a good show.
mommy~to~a~bunch replied: Oh yes, we got it! We had windchills around -40°F to-60°F last night & this morning. School was canceled, thank goodness! Temps were -22°F this morning.
TheOaf66 replied: yep...50mph gusts and our temperature dropped 50 degrees yesterday
40 to -10 and -41 wind chill
lovemy2 replied: Yep - getting it right now - went from 50 this am to currently 14 - and 60-70 mph gusts......
PrairieMom replied: I don't know what the wind speed was here, but it was enough to blow Ben's snowman over. We get really strong winds here a lot, since we are on the open prairie.
it went from 35 the other day to -38 windchill. nice.
holley79 replied: Last night was horrible and today is horrific.
luvmykids replied: Same here, the school system in town cancelled, we didn't even get a delay We haven't even used a snow day this year, so they could have
Calimama replied: It's been super windy here the past few days too.
sparkys2boys replied: LOL. my kids haven't been to school yet this week.. remember that sanity thing.. GONE GONE GONE
luvmykids replied: LOL
I'm a rebel, and they stayed home yesterday anyway because I was not going out in the 50 mph wind and blowing snow with Macie and the 1yo I babysit
My2Beauties replied: We got it bad last night, our winds got up to 70 mph One of our porch swings (our patio one that sits on our deck) ended up on the other side of the deck, my wind chimes were completely gone this morning, nowhere in sight Aubrey's stroller (sitting on the deck by the back door) blew across the deck too. Our whole house sounded like a tornado was coming through, we could feel the wind coming between the cracks on our doors and windows. It was horrible. We went from temps in the 60's or so to the low 20's high teens, the wind chill this morning it was 5 degrees Brrrrrrr
Anthony275 replied: YES- i couldnt even take my test today because it kept hitting the windows
MomToJade&Jordan replied: Pretty close Dee Dee. When a tropical storm hits 75 mph it's called a hurricane. We didn't get it too bad. Maybe 30 mph at the worst.
