Any plans for New Years Eve?
CantWait wrote: I'm going to the store tomorrow to buy some finger foods, we'll eat all night long.
The boys have sparklers to light (if I can find more I will buy more)
Fireworks are HUGE here in Moscow, every weekend in fact. Our neighbourhood puts on a display every year on New Years Eve all night so we'll be watching that from our backdoor cause conveniently they hold it out back.
booey2 replied: Sounds like you have a good plan Marie. I don't think we will be doing much of anything. The boys (and us) got a Wii for Christmas so we may just stay in a play all night long. Haven't really talked to hubby yet but we should call some old friends and see if they don't have plans if they want to come over. Finger foods and good drinks will also be in the plan.
Have fun with the fireworks our boys love them too.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: I'm apparently having a party.. but I don't know if I will, because nobody has confirmed their attendance. Oh well, I'm stuck at home either way, since I'll be with my sleeping kids.
My2Beauties replied: We're having a party at our house. Probably about 20-30 people coming over. We all go in the basement, shoot pool, play air hockey, play pop-a-shot, have some drinks, jam the stereo really loud, dance and a bunch of people usually crash at our house. We've done it the past 2 years. I'll have some chips & dip, some veggie trays or something, but nothing fancy and it's all BYOB (Or alchol whichever they prefer). Most of the time all the girls end up upstairs talking girl talk all night long. LOL! The kids will probably stay at my mom's or my mother in laws.
stella6979 replied: No big plans here. Just enjoying a nice, quiet, relaxing night at home.
Our Lil' Family replied: No plans really, might watch movies or hang out with friends.
TheOaf66 replied: another couple coming over, have some snacks and drinks, play cards and talk stupid
DillsMommy replied: My parents are having a small party/bonfire. So we'll probably just go over there since my MIL has to work the next morning, she can't watch the kids. This way I can just bring them with me and they can sleep in a bedroom. We'll just hang out around the bonfire, have a few drinks, listen to music. I'm pretty excited.
Danalana replied: We always have a New Year's thing at my church. It starts at 10...at 12, we will have a huge fireworks show, and then we will go home. We only live 2 minutes from church, so that's good. Not sure what we will do with Kade yet. I'd like to take him and let him see the fireworks, but he usually goes to bed around 10 or 10:30...I guess we'll see.
A&A'smommy replied: we are going to a "dirty dirty, santa party" and then afterwards a new years party at the same place.. the dirty dirty part is hilarious this will be the 3rd year in a row we have done it at midnight I will probably come home and go to bed I'm too old for parties and more than likely I will be bored but I'm going anyway
PrairieMom replied: work work work. But at least I will get time and a half for it. I actually volunteered for it specifically so I could get the extra $ since we didn't have any huge plans, and I skimped on my hours last month.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Olivia's having a slumber party! Lord, help me I bought some alleve at the store last night so I'm ready!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Tonight is our "I Love New Year's Eve's Eve" youth service. Since I'm a youth leader, I will be there. Scotty is going with me to help out and one of my best friends (Liz) and her husband (Josh) will be going with us. The youth is doing a drama that they've been working on. And a friend that Liz, Josh and I grew up with in church is performing tonight. He's a comedian/youth pastor/evangelist.
Scotty works tomorrow, but might get home early. We don't have any big plans. We usually just stay home, eat and watch the ball drop on TV.
Kaitlin'smom replied: not sure, I dont know if Kaitlin will be home. I do think we will stay in though and maybe have some friends over.
lisar replied: Party is at my house. NO KIDS!!!!! We have the big metal garage all set up, strobbing black lights, there is a tv there so that the karaoke machine can be hooked up and the alcohol table is out there ready to be filled. The plastic cups are out there and the fridge out there is full of ice. And there is plenty of gas for the 4-wheelers and the trails have been re-cut.
I forgot to mention that everyone will be bringing their campers to plug in and hook up to stay the night. LOL. I will have to get a picture 3 campers parked in the yard. They have electric but not water but that's all they will need for the night. (it wont be the first time)
CantWait replied: Sounds interesting?? Forgive me for being . What's the dirty dirty part?
lisar replied: Yea I wanted to know also?
MommyToAshley replied: We're going to a party at my sister's house as long as Ashley is 100% better by then.
Our Lil' Family replied: That sounds like fun Lisa, wish I lived closer, and wasn't pregnant!
lovemy2 replied: Going to friends of ours - they are having a campfire - yep in 8 inches of the snow we are supposed to get tonite and tomorrow they are having a campfire - drinks, food, and lots of fun watching my gf's husband get silly after a few cocktails...the kids are going to be with us - there will be about 6 other kids there too but we will probably be home about 10 - Dylan won't last much longer than that and DH works on New Year's Day - you know unfortunately the prisioners can't watch themselves even for one day
AlexsPajamaMama replied: Staying home...probably play some games and be in bed way before the ball drops! Being pregnant and ready to pop makes me oh so tired and not much of a partier!!
CantWait replied: Wouldn't it be cool if you had a New Years baby.
I think your New Years Eve plans should include a little "something" else to get things going lol
Calimama replied: We're going to a festival with Miabella and then going to a club around her bedtime.
Nina J replied: I think we are going to the carnival and are going to watch the fireworks. Just depends though, if their are a lot of drunk people down their we probably will just stay home. I don't particuarly fancy getting glassed.
ZandersMama replied: 20 cm of snow coming this afternoon and tonite, and then 20-30 coming tomorrow. So, shoveling maybe, thats about it
Brias3 replied: We're just staying in. We were invited to three NYE events, but I don't much feel like getting all gussied up and being out all night in this cold weather. I think we're going to order in Thai food, Bruce is out renting movies and grabbing some beer (for him) and non-alcholic champagne (for me ) and then Ryan's going to a friend's slumber party and the other two are being put to bed by 9 (they're exhausted from the past couple of days anyway!) so we can have some alone time and just relax!
BAC'sMom replied: Staying home where it's safe
boyohboyohboy replied: dh is working so I am going to play animal crossing and shop all night.. I am addicted..
BecauseIsaidSo replied: I don't do anything special for New Years Eve, not since I was in college many moons ago!
I did let my 14 yr old invite 2 friends over (she tried to get hold of 2 others but coudlnt) and they had lots of giggly fun!
A few days ago I purchased party hats (like the dunce cap) and feathered masks and cups with different sayings on them. I made tacos for the girls and then had mucho fixings for their ice cream. DD went wild with her concoction (could it be because I stopped buying sweets for the last 2 months..lol).
I the fire pit going on the patio and bought some fireworks to shoot off at midnite. DD found some 4 yr old firecrackers in the drawer so I let the girls (very cautiously) toss them into the firepit a pack at a time.
I also tossed some MOOLAH" onto the table for the winner of a game of "APPLES TO APPLES".
The girls had a good time. They also took the window marker and wrote all over my car. Today when I took the girls home I didnt notice right away but dd wrote "FARTS" on my back windshield....aghhhh..........I stopped and wiped it off !! She thought it was hilarious that I didnt notice right away.
CantWait replied: LMAO That's hilarious!!!!!
Oh what teenagers will do when they're hopped up on sugar.
Nina J replied: We ended up staying home. We went out and got McDonald's at 11:30pm, ate that and then watched the fireworks from the front yard. We put Auld Sang Lyne on at midnight.
It was an interesting night though. About every 20 minutes for 3 hours police sirens would go off because people kept setting off flares.
