Any other wives annoyed by this??

5littleladies replied: Jas does that sometimes but I know he's kidding so it doesn't really bother me. I'm sure I call him some things that are equally obnoxious.

jacobsmama replied: Haha I was about to say my husbands whole family says "my old lady" And I told him you better not call me that unless you want called "my old man" haha so he doesn't but he will say things like "Well the wife might not like that" Instead of my wife might not...It proablly is a man thing!!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: Lol I don't remember Dh ever calling me that but I just asked him and he said he has. I guess it doesn't bother me because I know he's only saying it in fun - usually he says "my wife" or just by my name.

But if he is saying to someone who has asked us to do something.. or wants him to do something alone he says .. I have to ask the "BOSS".. I have no idea why??

But if he does introduce me to someone he will say My wife Melba.. Always Melba too btw.. I hate that..lol

And at home it's always Babe.. or honey. Never my name..lol

Our Lil' Family replied: My DH usually says "my wife" too....although this topic got me thinking....did your DH ever refer to you as his fiance while you were engaged? I don't think mine ever did, probably still said girlfriend.

coasterqueen replied: Ryan only calls me "the wife" when I'm usually in the room and he's trying to be a fart. He'll say "I have to check with the wife" and give me a teasing look. It's a rare occassion, but we both take it all in fun. Otherwise if he's in a more serious conversation he always uses "my wife" or "Karen"

At home it is honey or mommy(Tay called me by my first name forever so we try to correct that!) coasterqueen replied: OH gosh I forgot about that, Dh calls me the "boss" sometimes too. I'm glad that I don't take him seriously or he'd probably peeve me 24/7.

Yeah - he always tell people he`s gotta ask 'the boss' too - like as if I control him - but I thin it`s nice of him to considering the possibility of me actually having plans before committing to something.... lol

And I don`t htink he`s called me by name in the whole time we`ve been together, other than to talk about me to someone else.

PrairieMom replied: I'm "the wife" but it doesn't bother me. We call our son "The Boy" so I know it is a term of indearment. I won't get into what I call my hubby!
