Any one do theme trees?

PrairieMom wrote: We do theme trees severy year. This year the them was black and white. I wasn't to pleased with it tho. It has black balls, and plastic crystal prisims, with white beade garland and a white ribbon bow. The prisims are to small to be seen,a nd the balls are to dark, so I am left with a tree with beads and a huge bow.

USMCwife replied: Mine is done in Burgundy and Gold this year.
I want to do Blue and Silver next year. And when we get a bigger place I want to have a tree w/ kids ornaments.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: Ours has been burgundy and gold since we got married. But, a lot of our ornaments aren't lasting long at all. I will probably change soon...not this year though. wink.gif

booey2 replied: Ous is basically green, gold and ivory with angel decorations and an angel topper. This year I added some purple to liven it up. We also have a lot of yearly decorations with pictures in them and home made ones that the boys have made over the years.

Our Lil' Family replied: Mine is blue, silver and white...has been for a few years now. But I'm really liking all the red stuff....oh well, just bought new stockings so it'll stay that way for a few more years.

PrairieMom replied: Burgandy and gold is one that I haven't done yet. I do a different one every year. I have TONS of ornaments, and they are really starting to pile up! Last year I did red and gold with gingerbread ornaments and it was really pretty. It smelled really good in my house too. It was really hard to keep the kid and the dog off the tree tho! laugh.gif

Jamison'smama replied: My main tree is very natural---mainly wooden ornaments, pine cones, wrought iron, some rag dolls, berry garland etc. But this year we added some stuffed animal ornaments that the kids can take off and play with. In the hall I have the Hallmark tree with the ornament collections on it. Next year I think I will do a playroom tree and save all the silly things from McDonalds etc. and make a tree that is complely "playwithable". I like multiple trees. My mom does a color theme each year---this is a blue year.

jacobsmama replied: Mine has lots of color...Colored lights, garland, colored bulbs and a little tensil just like my mom did it!! Oh the memories.. wub.gif

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: My parents did a cowboy tree last year. My dad's Stetson was on the top, it had a rope garland, my dad tied little rope ornaments and my mom tied little bows on the branches with bandana fabric. I liked that one.

CantWait replied: Ours is Red and Gold, with a few homemade things on it. Red and white/clear balls, gold and red beads, gold tinsel (ron likes tinsel, not me), and red garland.

holley79 replied: Well guess we are the only ones without a theme. We use multicolored lights. The star I bought when DH and I first got together. We also have our combined ornaments and buy a new one each year. I think it's fun because while we are decorating it together we laugh and talk about each of the ornaments that are going on the tree. blush.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: I want to do a white theme, I think this year. We have had the blue/silver~~ garnet/gold (Go SEMINOLES!) and the basic clear lights with apples, and ecletic ornaments.

mammag replied: The one in our living room is done in silver and pink....pink ribbon, angel dressed in pink, mauve balls, and silver & pewter decorations (also alot of clear items like snowflakes and such).

The one in the family room is done in tacky tongue.gif You know, flashing colored lights, beads, every crazy ornament you can imagine, and the treasured home made ornaments.....an unusually high amount of which have Kristen's picture on them. laugh.gif I couldn't find the gold star that goes on top so for now it has a pepermint that cade made out of paper plates as the tree topper. It's a very fun tree!

jcc64 replied: Ours is the same every year-mainly dusty pink and pearlescent white color scheme with LOTS of angels and wooden ornaments- very old fashioned victorian. We also have all the requisite kids' handmade ornaments, and the whole thing's getting very crowded. I am pining (no pun intended) for a more modern look- monochromatic and simple, but now that I have all this stuff, why start all over again? Besides, the history is all part of it. I'm thinking of doing a small tree up in my bedroom, which is where I spend most of my recreational time when it's too cold outside (too many drafty french doors in the living room.

adixon24 replied: We get a little carried away at Christmas, however we have a few themed trees! For instance we have a John Deere tree that has nothing but tractors and yellow and green etc since we have a landscaping business and my hubby bleeds JDeere! We also have a Mountain Dew tree since it is our favorite drink, we have a fancy smancy tree that is covered in crystal balls, beads, feathers, butterflies, pearls etc. Those are just a few of our trees this year! We have 9 total....
