Any ideas? - hair dye
HuskerMom wrote: We sprayed Keith's hair for halloween and the red is completely out of his hair but his scalp still looks pretty red. Does anyone have any ideas what might wash it out better? I've just been using regular shampoo.
mckayleesmom replied: Wow....that is a long time to have a red scalp since holloween. Have you tried calling the company and seeing what they reccomend? Or taking him to a hair salon and seeing what they suggest??
moped replied: Dish soap
CantWait replied: I wouldn't dye his hair for the sake of getting the red out, he's a bit young for that, and dyes can be very harsh.
It is a long time, maybe his scalp is a bit irritated from the spray?
mckayleesmom replied: I hope you didn't think I was saying to dye his hair...that isn't what I meant by the salon thing...Just that they might know what will take it out.
mom21kid2dogs replied: I can't tell you what to do about it but I can tell you it's not abnormal. I look at about 800-1000 heads a week at work and I have about 5 kids who still have multi colored scalps from Halloween. Red and green seem to be the hard colors to get out.
My3LilMonkeys replied: My girls both had red scalps until at least Thanksgiving from the spray in dye. I just scrubbed a bit harder & longer than normal with their regular shampoo and it eventually came out.
CantWait replied:
No I thought from the title of the topic that she wanted suggestions for hair dye.

HuskerMom replied: No I didn't want to dye it, just to get the dye out.
I might try the dish soap idea, but it sounds like I just need to keep scrubbing it. Thanks for the ideas!
luvmykids replied: That's my suggestion too....I once had an at home coloring boo boo and my hairdresser SIL said to use dish soap.
mom21kid2dogs replied: Honestly, with a child, I'd think twice about using dish soap on it. Kid's scalps are pretty sensitive. He could have an allergic reaction to it or develop an exceptionally dry scalp. If you choose this, get one that has a moisturizing formula to it. He might be less sensitive to it that way.
HuskerMom replied: That's a good idea, thanks. I hadn't thought of that.
My2Beauties replied: I'd say dish soap too it gets anything out of hair.
lisar replied: Vinegar will do it the first try
