Another question! - Velour sweatsuits

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: In or out??

They were really popular last year...you know...the velour/terrycloth sweatsuits that you saw everywhere! Now I just bought a maternity set a few months ago and it's very comfortable, so I don't really care that much if it's in or out, but I was at Marshall's the other day and overheard four young (maybe 19) women make fun of them! I know, who really cares, right??? But I'm just curious what everyone else thinks!

What do you think?

Kaitlin'smom replied: I actually have 3 usually only wear them around the house. So I dont care either.

C&K*s Mommie replied: I still wear them! Going into the malls and seeing them in stores, makes me think that at least here in Pensacola (and Tallahassee) they are still okay. I say go for it. Besides, to be a fashionista you would have to spend alot of money keeping up, so I would say go fot it, at least for the remainder of this season.

ammommy replied: Personally, I don't care for them when worn as a set, but that's just me.

ediep replied: I have one and I don't realy wear it that often, but it is comfortable.

moped replied: Yep I like them - I don't own one, but Victoria secret has a very cute pink one I may order!!!!!!!

Go for it - I wouldn't tell you to wear something that was BAD!!!!!!!

luvmykids replied: Maybe they're out in NY or LA but all the stores here still sell them, and they're still in all my catalogs from the "hip" stores, so they can't be too out!

I love em too.

Insanemomof3 replied: I don't keep up on fashion. I just wear what makes me comfortable and what I like. I don't care what other people think. But that is just me. dunno.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: you're pregnant, so who cares what you wear? rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

I had one, LOVED it, although it really didn't fit me long.... rolleyes.gif - I passed it on to Kimberley. happy.gif

it's not like you'd be wearing a sweatsuit to work, or do grocery shopping though, or for anythiong else but to llounge ion your house or do sweatsuit-type activities such as exercising, riiiiiiiiiight? Stacy and Clinton for "what not to wear" would have a fit!!!

I'm just kidding. Well, sorta. rolling_smile.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I do wear it to go grocery shopping and to playgroup! Or to go to the mall or even a really casual dinner like getting burritos at Chipotle or something. I wore it last night when DH and I went to shop for a new cell phone. This style IMO is not made for working out. It's baggy and probably really too warm. It's "casual lounge wear" I guess.

Jen, you should get the one at VS!

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
I agree - the style is not made for working out. That's where the "sorta" came from... were it a regular ratty sweatsuit, it would be a no-no in public. rolling_smile.gif

I had one too, and wore it anywhere but dressy places.

CantWait replied: I hate to say it, but I think only thin people can pull those off properly...I certainly couldn't, my butt would be like a huge target sticking out. huh.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
rolling_smile.gif I guess you're right! That's probably why most of the teenagers wear the brand with the word "Juicy" across the butt! LOL! laugh.gif

coasterqueen replied:
thumb.gif I know I could never pull one off with my wide load. They are too form fitting.

TeagansMom609 replied: They are still in around here but if I honestly think they only look good on skinny girls. They arent so flattering on bigger women. Might as well just wear spandex.

luvmykids replied: My mom is pretty average sized, about a 12-14, and she wears them a lot and looks great. They're not tight or fitted, they're a "womans" cut. Way better than she'd look in baggy sweats, IMO.

C&K*s Mommie replied: They also have some that have the rhinestones on the side of the pant, and on the pocket, one woman (who happened to be skinny-average laugh.gif ) had it on with a pair of low heeled boots. The pant was long enough that you really could not tell for certain that they were boots underneath, but it showed just enough that you could tell. Those were the ones that were less casual-casual. KWIM? biggrin.gif

CosmetologyMommy replied: I see them everywhere here(in Illinois). That is all my mom will wear and they are cute and comfy.

Cece00 replied: Well I personally would never wear them (even last yr...) BUT if you like it & you're pregnant...why not? I know a lot of ppl like them...not sure if they are still "in"....
