Another Hosp. trip for me

I am so glad to be back home.  I have had a pretty scary week.  Last Wednesday I was feeling pretty short of breath so I went to ER.  Well I went in and when I got there my bp was 181/121 and my pulse was in the 30's and low 40's.  They immediately gave me some medication to lower it and by 8:00 (7 hrs after I got there) it was down to 165/110  still way to high.  So they admitted me.  My docter called in another heart specialist beacuse he couldn't figure out why my bp was sky high and my pulse was about to stop!  I think I've had every test possible in the last 5 days.  I had numerous blood tests done.  3 chest x-rays, 5 EKG's, a renal ultrasound, a nuclear stress test, an ultrasound of my legs to check for blood clots, a ct scan of my abdominal region where they injected some kind of iodine, 24 hour urine test, and 2 echocardiograms.  whew! Ithink thats it but there might have been more.  Also I was on a heart monitor the whole time.  That wasn't to bad because it didn't have any cords to make me have to stay in bed.  It had an antennae that transmitted everything to the nurses station.  I had that the whole time.  They had to wake me up 4 times one night because my pulse went down to the low 30's and one time as low as 28.  It scared me to death.  I'm laying there sleeping and all of a sudden the lights come on me beds going up and they are yelling at me to wake up and asking me all sorts of questions. They tried a couple of times stopping my bp meds to see if it would stay down, but no such luck.  It would go right back up to the 160's/110's. I had to go back in this morning for more bloodwork.  I don't know if it's possible to get any more holes poked in me!  But the results are I have hypertension (high blood pressure) and Bradycardia (low pulse)  I go to my heart doc. next wednesday to get a heart monitor halter I have to wear for 48 hours to see if my meds are doing any good..  Then in 4 weeks I have to have another echocardiogram. I will be having weekly bp checks also.  I am taking Zestril for my bp and Ativan for my anxiety.  I was on something called Captipril sp? 3 times a day but they changed it to something I only have to take once a day.  They said I have enough on my hands to have to worry about trying to take meds 3x a day.  Yeah, tell me about it!  Well thats my story.  And on top of it all Jason had brought Kyle in to see me Saturday and he ended up going downstairs to ER.  He has a pretty bad cold.  The worst part was they wouldn't let me go with him!  I just stood there and bawled like a little kid.  They got me back in my room and shoved some more pills down my throat and I was asleep in 20 minutes.  Also we took Zachary to the docs yesterday morning and he has a double ear infection, the one side is bulging. The antibiotic they put him on, he must be allergic too because this morning he woke up with a rash all over. Tyler has a pretty bad cold too.  My poor babies!  Our family is just a disaster right now.  It never seems to end!  Just thought I'd update. I'm really not ignoring the bored, they just don't have internet connection at our hosp!

Mommieto2Girls replied: Oh my, that's just awful. I hope everything works out and the meds work for you. I just can't imagine what your going through, then with two kids. I hope they both get better real fast and hope you are able to get the rest that you need. <<<<hugs>>>>

Prayers and Hugs I have hypoglycemia and sinus bradycardia and anxiety attacks if I have too much sugar...........I was able to change everything with diet alone and get off my meds........it made such a HUGE difference to me b/c I couldn't handle the medication, you may try different things. Just a thought. I doubt you will be able to get off your heart medication though that is a little more serious :-(. I am so sorry that happened to you
