Check eBay, or call around to local stores. If they don't have any, ask if they expect any. Ask when shipments come in so you know when to call back. Find someone friendly and 'bond' with them.

DH works nights and made friends with the lady who works in electronics at WalMart at 2AM - she'll tell him days in advance when something's coming out that he's mentioned, and will hold it for him (if she can).

As far as me worrying if it's brand new - it's advertised as such, and I don't mind putting up a fuss with the seller and ebay if it turns out not be to. I bought "brand new", I expect "brand new".

I can just walk into a store and buy one though, they're not sold out everywhere here.

It alerted us via cell phone and we were able to go online immediately and get it --ours happened to come from Sears. It moniters several websites then messages you when they see one come available.

I was going to suggest this...Or wiifinder.com or wiitracker.com. You log in your city and it tells you what stores have them in. You can get an alert on your cell phone or just keep checking. It will also tell you what websites still have them for sale online. It can change in minutes though, so you have to order fast.

DH got one by just waiting in line at Walmart right when they got their shipment in. I think it was a Wed morning around 11am. They come on FedEx trucks, so go in and ask when they typically get their fedex shipments and wait. GL

carriestar44 replied: My nephew works at Circuit City and he told me that when they get them in, it's usually on a Sunday. Probably the best thing to do is be first in line when the store opens. Also, check ads in the Sunday paper. If a store is advertising Wiis that day, chances are they have it. Hope this helps and feel free to ask me any other questions you have.

jem0622 replied: I'm not even bothering until they are in ample supply. Check Craigslist for your area. You can also find what days the stores get shipments. Pick a store and become good buddies with them. You will land one eventually.
