Anniversary today

Make a big dinner for him and everything. Really go out of your way...will most likely get smothing out of him then Let us know how it goes then.

It was a beautiful late summer day and dad and I decided to go fishing. Now we're not talking about a couple hour and home fishing trip. We're talking an 8 hour day well away from land flounder and weakfishing. I had my first cell phone with me that day, but it was a brick and didn't like water much so it stayed in the car. Anyway we had a great day fishing and we were on our way home when dad says, "Ed, something tells me we missed something today. Do you have any idea what it might be?"

Now my dad's even more absentminded than I am, but I'd had something nagging the back of my conscience all day. Then it hit me! It was my anniversary and I had forgotten. Quickly I picked up my brick of a cell phone and dialed home (no phonebook storage in those days); fortunately I had signal and Lisa was at home. I was prepared to beg for my life and give her just about anything not to go home to her parents'.

Anyway, she answers the phone and the first words out of my mouth were, "Honey, I'm so sorry."

Lisa, "For what? No one got hurt did they?"

Me, "Well, no everyone's fine."

Lisa, "You didn't catch anything?"

Me, "No, we did pretty well actually."

Lisa, "Then what?"

Me, "Honey, I'm sorry I forgot our anniversary today. I'll be home soon and make it up to you."

Lisa, "Oh yeah, that was today wasn't it. I forgot too. Love ya. Happy Anniversary."

Me (dumbfounded at my dumb luck at having married the best woman in the world), "Ummm... Happy Anniversary and I love you too."
