Animals and Heaven

My3LilMonkeys replied: Well, I don't know. Do you mean just domestic animals, or "all" animals? It seems to me heaven wouldn't be such a great place for all people if it was full of spiders, snakes, bugs, etc. Not to mention things that could be dangerous to people - mountain lions, dinosaurs, sharks. And when you consider the sheer number of animals that are out there and their shorter life span in some cases meaning there would be hundreds more generations of them - it just doesn't seem likely to me that all animals go to heaven. I do agree with you that I don't think they would all be sent to hell either. Animal reincarnation perhaps.

But how do we know that animals would react the same in heaven? Like how do we know that sharks would eat meat, or spiders would bite, for examples.

5littleladies replied: I don't believe animals go to either heaven or hell because they do not have a soul. They simply cease to exist.

PrairieMom replied: I think that heaven is what ever you need it to be. Personally, for me heaven wouldn't be heaven at all if my puppy wasn't there with me.

redchief replied: Catholic catecism says that animals are not possesive of a soul and therefore do not go to heaven, or hell for that matter. The just cease to be.

Nina J replied: I believe animals go to Heaven. I just think God wouldn't deny any creature, I agree with Tara, Heaven wouldn't be Heaven if my past pets wern't there. I think they have a soul, because they love and they care, they feel just like humans do, except they can't verbalise it.

God made Noah save 2 of each kind of animal, so why wouldn't he save there souls? At least, that's what I think.

I love that you said that and I completely agree. One of my dogs I have had for 12 years and she is my baby. I don't like the thought of her passing away but after she does, I hope I will get to see her again in heaven.

I agree Lisa. I don't see "how" something living couldn't have a soul. Somewhere in the Bible is a passage about this, but I have no idea where it is. Wish I remembered. It did state, from how I interpreted it anyway, that all animals go to heaven. But...that's just my interpretation.

holley79 replied: I have a poem from seeing your pet at the "bridge". Maybe they have their own special place up there. When Annika gets older and has pets she loves I'm sure we will tell her they go to heaven.

luvmykids replied: I'm not sure but I think they do. Partly because of what others have said about them being His creations and having a soul of sorts, and partly because I agree that Heaven is defined by each person there (to a degree .... some parts we already know are for sure)
