AmyNicole-DO NOT READ THIS - the cat picked the wrong day to barf

kit_kats_mom wrote: on my bed. growl.gif

I stayed up too late watching the Oscars then Lauren woke up a lot & Katherine was in bouncing on the bed at 6. sad.gif So a bad night sleep.

During quiet time I was going to take a nap because my mood was going downhill at a rapid rate. I was a "grouchy Gus".

I got K settled in her room, Lauren asleep and I walked into our bedroom to lie down for a few minutes. I went to shoo the cat off of the bed when 1. she meowed and woke Lauren up and 2. I saw the giant pool of cat puke right in the middle of the bed. ARGH! So, instead of my nap, I washed the comforter and sheets (it soaked all the way through to the mattress so now there's a big barf stain on it, niiiice) while Lauren fussed because she was tired.

I immediately called the vet. DH will take her in tomorrow or the next day for her final trip. This cat has been with me for 18 years and she's been a great friend but she's overweight, chronically constipated, destructive, asthmatic (LOUD coughing fits constantly), she barfs everywhere and she's a loud talker. She is always waking the kids up in the morning with her meows. Last month she puked on my couch, carpet (7 times), bed (Twice), under the crib, on the porch and in the bedroom closet. I have enough crap to clean up without that KWIM?

Stupid cat. mad.gif I know the girls will miss her, DH and I told K that she was sick and we are taking her to live with another family...is that wrong?

mckayleesmom replied: Sorry girl...gotta do whatcha gotta do.

punkeemunkee'smom replied: Not wrong! We had a litter of kittens born last summer and they were not well from the begining and with the heat they did not make it....Tay still thinks that the vet has her favorite one and that Santa took a few for mice problems in the reindeer's barn. blush.gif emlaugh.gif She is too young to have to deal with things she really doesn't understand anyway...IMO there is nothing wrong with protecting their feelings!

Sorry about your cat! It sounds like she is not well and you are doing what is best!

gr33n3y3z replied: Your a good person for putting up with that for this long
enough is enough I would have only lasted 1 week tops bc I cant deal with puke animal or human

What your DH said wasnt bad at all smile.gif

It is sad tho sad.gif

3xsthefun replied: I'm sorry hear that. hug.gif

My2Beauties replied: Is the cat really been sick or is it maybe something else that is causing her to throw up? I'm sorry to hear that. hug.gif I think it's ok to tell K that, she's too young to understand right now. It would hurt her too much.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm sorry sad.gif

What you told K was fine hug.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
She's kind of chronically sick. Never anything really life threatening but her quality of life is going down the tubes. I noticed that she's limping a bit because of arthritis lately and the wheezing etc. Frankly, and I know this will sound heartless, but I've spent thousands of dollars on this cat & her various problems. EKG's, enemias (yes. not cool), blood work, asthma meds and masks etc. I think it's time.

coasterqueen replied: Uh, I know how you feel Cary. Our cat is like that. She pukes at least once/twice a day all over the floor. She poops and then it won't come out and she wipes her butt all over the carpet, floor, whatever is in the path (clothes, etc). puke.gif When Ryan was in Louisiana I almost put that cat to sleep because it's quality of life is so worse than it used to be but Dh likes the cat. I've tried talking him into it but he won't. She meows 24/7 for food, we give her MANY cans of food a day and she still acts like she's hungry and weighs barely anything. We've had her in many times in the past and they always gave us this crap to feed her that she throws up immediately.

anywyas, sorry to rant on your thread. I just wanted to say I understand. hug.gif

A&A'smommy replied: I'm sorry about your cat hug.gif hug.gif

CantWait replied: Sounds like it's time for your cat to go to a better place. You've really done all you can do for her. Sorry though, pets are really like friends hug.gif hug.gif

luvmykids replied: It always sucks to lose a pet, but you're right, it gets to a point where you just can't do it, and for the animals sake too. There's nothing wrong with giving your daughter whatever terms she needs to be ok with it. Sorry to hear it! hug.gif

C&K*s Mommie replied: So sorry to hear about your long time friend. sad.gif

Hope the girls are understanding of it, over time. hug.gif

When Taison passed on, we told C that he went to live in heaven with the angels and Jesus. And even now, everytime she gets a hold of a balloon- she sends it up to be with all of them! wub.gif Breaks my heart.. smile.gif
