Alison has a respiratory infection
~Roo'sMama~ wrote: She's had a cold since last friday - I'm sure she must have gotten it from Andrew... he's had it since last wednesday or around there. Anyways he's doing fine other than just having a runny nose, but poor Allie was just getting worse and so I took her back to the doctor today and she said she either has RSV or some other respiratory infection. So I have to do a nebulizer treatment every four hours for the next week or two. I feel so awful ~ she's so little to be sick. I feel like a bad mommy for letting her get sick so early. Andrew is always giving her kisses, and I've caught him with her nuk in his mouth a couple times. It's hard to keep him away from her without hurting his feelings- he's too little to understand about germs, but maybe I should have tried harder to keep him away from her.
It's really frustrating too because she's hardly eating anything because she can't breathe when she's nursing. I'm a little worried about the effect this is going to have on my milk supply. I haven't had as much of an over supply issue this time around to begin with, and now she's only nursing for a couple minutes at a time, and usually only on one side. Sometimes she eats every hour or two, and sometimes, if she's napping or at night, she goes for four hours and then she'll nurse a bit longer, but still not for long.
So we could use some get well vibes here. I only had the stuffy nose and sinus headache for a couple days, but now I feel like I'm getting a sore throat. Dh hasn't gotten it yet, and he's hoping he won't get it at all. And Andrew is still running a low grade fever and is a regular snot fountain and just not feeling good all around I think.

I sure hope she is feeling better soon.... I hope you all are feeling better soon!
I have become a major germaphob since Emma was born. I wash Jason's hands and face and change his clothes whenever he comes in from school or playdates. We have purell all over the house, and I spray lysol everywhere. I wipe every hard surface with clorox wipes a million times a day. I wash sheets and blankets every week with bleach and hot water. I also make sure that jason takes his vitamins every day and it has helped to make his colds shorter.
anyway, enough babbling...... feel better Alison, Sara, and Andrew!!!!
amymom replied: Oh goodness! Mary Beth had RSV when she was 4 weeks old so I understand what you are going through. I hope everyone feels better soon. Take care of yourself while caring for everyone else.
Before nursing, I would sunction MB's nose and then she would eat alittle longer. It is difficult at best.

And, you are not a bad Mom. Kids get sick, no matter what age they are.
Have you tried pumping to help keep up your supply?
A&A'smommy replied: OH no I'm sending LOTS of get well vibes poor baby!!!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: I'm so sorry, hun.
I hope you all feel better soon. I agree that no matter what you do to prevent it, the germs will find a way to our babies eventually. Spring is right around the corner.

Your not a bad mom.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Thanks everyone. She's doing a lot better now than she was on friday. You can tell when it's almost time for her next nebulizer treatment though because she gets real stuffed up and has a hard time breathing again. Friday night I laid awake a lot listening to her struggling. She has another appointment today at 4:00 - her ped just wants to check her and make sure she's getting better.
I'm so glad I took her in on friday... who knows how bad it might have gotten over the weekend if I hadn't.
amymom replied: Thanks for updating. I am glad she is doing better.
