Ahhhhh I can't see today!

coasterqueen wrote: My boss told me I could buy myself a new laptop for work because mine is 2 years old and gives me grief every once in awhile. Such a sweet boss. wub.gif

Anyways, DH picked me out this 17" widescreen laptop. I like it but this site is very itty bitty on the screen sad.gif

I've been trying everything with the resolution to get this site and others to come up bigger and I can't. Sniff sniff. The print is so small I literally have my face in the screen. rolleyes.gif

Any computer techies out there with any other solutions? I've been in control panel messing with that etc. No luck.

My2Beauties replied: I seriously have no clue except the little buttons on the screen of a regular PC made my screen bigger, I don't know about laptops though! Sorry I couldn't be of more help! sad.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: oh how annoying, other than resolution and the buttons on the front I am also a bit clueless.....DH does this for me wink.gif

but woo hoo you got a new one

kit_kats_mom replied: LOL Karen. rolling_smile.gif

Ok. if you are using Windows Explorer....
go to the menu at the top of the page. Click "View", choose "text size" then choose the size you want.

If you aren't using explorer, I can't help you

coasterqueen replied:
Thanks Cary. I am using explorer and tried that but it didn't change a thing. rolleyes.gif I seriously think it has something to do with this extra wide screen. rolleyes.gif DH keeps trying to help me over the phone but it's not working! ROFL.

He knows I can handle technology but this is a bit different to me so I wish he would have set this up. In the mean time I guess I'll just keep my nose to the screen. tongue.gif

MommyToAshley replied:
This probably won't make a difference since most of this site uses style sheets. The font size most likely won't change.

What resolution are you in Karen? I set mine to 1280X1024 and the font is easy to read.

coasterqueen replied: Dh fixed it but now I think it's too big, lol. With the widescreen there seems to be no in between. rolleyes.gif I'll have to play with it some more later.

MomToMany replied: I know nothing about laptops. It scares me to have something that's so expensive and small that one of the kids might step on it or knock it down. But something that portable might be nice.

I hope you can find a happy medium, Karen!

kit_kats_mom replied: Ok guys...Let's all bond together to help Karen out today.
Karen, let us know which font size is best....

This one?
This one?
This one?
This one?

Now everyone, once we all know which one works best for dear Karen, you should all post messages in only that font size for the rest of the day!

MommyToAshley replied:
LOL! Cary, we can always count on you for a good laugh!

That reminds me of a certain cell phone commercial....

coasterqueen replied:
rolling_smile.gif You are cracking me up! Thanks for the thought wink.gif. There seems to be no happy medium with this computer. Grrrr DH. I asked him why he picked out a widescreen laptop and he said cuz it's cool to watch movies on! Ummm, I know I don't work at work...but I definitely don't watch movies..maybe soaps but not movies!!!! rolling_smile.gif
