Ahhh man - sometimes being a homeowner stinks

So the met DH at lunch, he calles me to let me it its worst than what we knew, I am thinking great there going to dig up the yard, nope we have termites, thankfully they have not gotten in the house yet but they have tried , so now I am seeing bigger $$ okay so now I am prepaired for that well then to find out we also have one tree in the front yard with carpenter ants  now more $$....boy do I feel broke now
okay a few hugs would be great now
I am just glad we did find this out early and no bugs are in the house other wise I would freek and not want to stay there.

I guess in a way, it is good that this happened and you discovered all of this now. We had carpenter ants too and didn't know it. They eat the trees from the inside out, and we had so many tall trees together,that it is hard to tell when one is dead. Well, one tree fell on our house (as you may remember). We had several trees removed and the other trees treated. So, I feel your pain in the pocketbook.

yep i remember thats why we want to take care of it now before that happens...but with my luck the tree would probably fall on the neighbors house!
ediep replied: oh man, that stinks! If you have a pest contol company that you use, they may have a year contact that you can buy for a few hundred dollars, but then they come out any time for the next year at no charge.

yep with the company we went with its a 2 year contract for the termites and 1 year for any kind of bug problem.
oh we also had a wasp nest they took care of and a yellow jacket nest, well most of the are gone today, they are comming by again thursday to do another killing just to make sure, and the guy told us last night if we see anything to call him.....the funny thing is my DH knows him, tookthem a few mintues to figure out from where but they did

they came and did all the treatments yesterday, I am just thankfull we found out now before any of them got into the house....that would have creeped me out. Hopefully nothing else will show up but if they do its covered for a year.

they did it all yesterday, and they will be back thursday evening to do another for the bees.
as for the termites they come once a month for 2 years to check and treat.

yeah being a homeowner can stink..but in the end, the pros outweigh the cons!! Just try to remember that!
