About as bad as - socks with sandels...

mysweetpeasWil&Wes wrote: SKORTS!! Come on ladies!...toss them out NOW!! Just saying the word makes me squirm. Anything that has a name like that has got to go...that and Scrunchies...sorry but it's a must. O-U-T! We all know they were in like fifteen years ago...but why wear something that makes you look like you're ten! Give them away, tear them up...please, oh please don't wear them and think they may just come back in style...or worse, actually THINK they ARE in style. My DH would probably call you cute in them...but we know where he stands on his fashion sense! I saw a women wearing them at the Y today and just about died...I could let it go if she had a tennis racket in her hand, but...she didn't.

Don't mind me...I'm only being honest! tongue.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: I love my skorts smile.gif just need to loose a few dozen pounds so I can fit in them again rolling_smile.gif

MommyToAshley replied: I put Ashley in skorts all the time, but not sure I would wear one.

As for scrunchies, I have been known to steal one of Ashley's scrunchies when I am having a ponytail day. LOL! rolling_smile.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Noooooooo Lisa...I'm coming over to your house and throwing them out!!

rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

MyBlueEyedBabies replied:
Not a chance...I love them, but don't worry about seeing me in them they don't currently button

mammag replied: I love skorts but not the ones that look like skorts in the back and have a panel over the front. It has to be the ones that are a skirt all around so that it just looks like a skirt but I don't have to worry about sitting down and exposing myself if it's a little on the shorter side.

ammommy replied: While we're at it, can we ban tapered pants? Even worse, pleated front, tapered leg puke.gif

mammag replied:
Ooh yes! Those have to go!!!!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
Oh yes, I'm with you...how about any pants that are up to your boobs! I see a lot of women in my town with jean shorts that are literally upto their boobs and they tuck in their shirts and wear them with belts....ick!

Sorry, but when it comes to skorts...why not just wear a skirt? Or just shorts? Why do they have to be together? If you HAVE to wear shorts underneath, well then realize that your skirt is TOO short...hahaha!

And Dee Dee, Ashley probably looks cute in them...that's what I'm saying...you can get away with them if you're under ten! LOL! laugh.gif Same goes with scrunchies...haven't you all seen that Sex & The City episode where Carrie is telling Burger that women in NY do not wear scrunchies. Now to pull your hair back when you're washing your face, well okay, but out in public???....NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! And the worst ones of all are the ones that match your outfit...yikes!

I'm really not materialistic or miss trend setter myself...but it's fun to laugh sometimes! I still own a dress that has that jagged edge on the hem of the skirt...remember it was in like five years ago?...it must GO!

Sunflower04 replied:
I am with you both on that.

ammommy replied:
Umm...if you mean the assymetric hemline, those are still in stores here unsure.gif

Or do you mean the unfinished hem?

luvbug00 replied: I like skorts that the dress goes all arround because I wear'em SHORT. I don't feel comfortable in a really short mini. tongue.gif

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: All of you crack me up!!!!! I only wear jeans and sometimes shorts (depends on how hot it is) I don't think I ever owned a skort, but I would let Mackenzie wear one. They look better on little girls!! rolling_smile.gif emlaugh.gif

moped replied: Sorry rae - I LOVE my skorts!

MissyKay2005 replied: I love skorts too, actually not all just piticular pair I have and hopeing to get back into then..lol As for scrunchies depends on what color, I have very long hait and put it up often and scrunchies look fine biggrin.gif

mammag replied: This is the kind of skort I'm talking about.....

It just looks like a skirt but I just feel mor secure wearing it and not worrying about sitting down and showing stuff. Especially with little ones walking around at your feet and climbing around you possibly pulling up the skirt unintentionally...

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Okay Jeanie, you look adorable!! But...............I'm calling up the Fab Five and telling on you all!!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I mean asymetric...do you want mine???? laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

mckayleesmom replied: I don't have or wear skorts....but I see nothing really wrong with them. I do wear scrunchies sometimes.....but I don't wear bright colored ones...Just browns and blacks. I have really long hair and its really thick too....I usually break rubber bands.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Ok not everyone needs to wear the LOW RISE jeans either..

I mean I wear mine around my waist and not as a bra..

But for the women who like me are full figured...the low rise booty jeans aren't at all flattering..

If you bend over and I see your drawers or you fat is hanging over the top it is not a good fit....

stanleygirl replied: * runs into closet to hide all evidence of skorts* laugh.gif

ETA I'm also a daily scrunchie user too!! LOL

mammag replied: Another case for skirts......

If you are going up stairs or on escalators, I'd rather see shorts under that skirt than a view of your underthings.

I was at the Parade of Homes and a heavy set girl was wearing a skirt and I was behind her........not a pretty sight!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I agree... rolling_smile.gif

mammag replied: I heard that the most flattering fit for "normal" women is mid rise so it's not so low that you have rolls hanging of the top but not so high that it looks like a pooch in the front and make your butt look as long as your back.

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
I completely agree with you both...I never said I like the low rise. I can't stand when girls wear them so low that it looks like they have a second butt coming out the top! When DH sees my g-string poking out at all, he calls me "don't be that girl". I typically get jeans on my hips, but they must cover everything. But pants upto your ears is not so flattering either, especially when they make camel toes! Or the zipper is like two feet high!!

I'm posting this out of poking fun at bad fashion in general...nothing directed towards any of you...hope you all know that!! smile.gif

luvbug00 replied: OH Ladies I live for my low rise jeans!! They make me look thin ( previous avitar) and I Love them sure you gan see my butt floss but ya know at least my panties are pretty not trashy. wink.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
You look great...and BTW, you also look great in bright pink! You go girl with your low rise!

Now here's a couple more for you all...

Mock turtleneck sweaters with short sleeves or how about overalls??...LOL! Again, overalls are only meant for kids under ten or PG women! Don't wear them otherwise, please! And please don't wear one side down or wear them with a belt!!

I know you're all thinking "she thinks she's so funny"... rolling_smile.gif

luvbug00 replied: Rae, YOur killing me here emlaugh.gif rolling_smile.gif I wore the overalls with only one buckle too!!! In high school! mock turtlenecks are hilarious!! I really loved the outfits that are all stuck together it was like a big kids outfit without the snaps on the bottom I did that too in middleschool.. blush.gif

ps. thanks for the complement blush.gif

OHHH I forgot Jammies with feet I LOVE those !! They had them at target in the winter I get a new pair every year!! Oh I cried the first time I saw them there!!

Mommy2BAK replied: I think this thread is kind of sad. I think everyone is entitled to wear whatever makes them feel good about themselves wheather it is "in" or not. And I think all of you women are beautiful no matter what you like to wear.

"It's not about the clothes a woman is wearing, it's about the woman wearing the clothes"

coasterqueen replied:
If I was skinny like you I'd DEFINITELY where skorts. biggrin.gif But I'm not so my fat butt won't be caught DEAD in them. tongue.gif

3/4 of Kylie's summer wardrobe is skorts. The kind that Jeanie is talking about. I love dressing her up in them because it looks like she's wearing skirts but they have shorts underneath so she can get down in the dirt etc at daycare and I don't have to worry about what she's showing to everyone. tongue.gif Definitely a GREAT idea for kids IMO.

Oh, btw.......I wear scrunchies almost 24/7. tongue.gif My hair is always in my way so I pull it back 24/7 and that's what I pull them back in. I'm a total fashion victim anyways so I don't really care, lol.

ammommy replied:
You have the body meant to wear them wink.gif
I think the "no low rise" was for women that have rolls pouring over the jeans. Not attractive no matter where the waist line is laugh.gif

TANNER'S MOM replied:
I love this quote!

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied:
You know I would have to agree with you...this quote is great...and I'm sorry if I made anyone sad. I feel bad if anyone took it to heart...but it's somehow not any different than discussing our opinions about religion and/or politics. It's just my honest opinion, although more silly than educational, but I too wouldn't think any less of anyone for what they decide to wear let alone their political views. It's just meant for discussion I guess...simple as that. Maybe I should have thought twice about it all...sorry.

moped replied:
I don't think anyone took offense to it - I thought it was a very funny topic today..................

Nichole had posted one before about Bermuda Shorts and I wear those too - LOLOLOLOL................................ biggrin.gif tongue.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied: rolling_smile.gif You are cracking me up! While I don't wear skorts, I can see wearing the ones that 'look' like a skirt all the way around (like Jeanie wears). I would wear them if I could. They give extra support around the waistline. wink.gif I just don't have the body for it.

Rae...have you secretly joined the "What not to Wear" team? laugh.gif I'm probably a fashion disaster, too. I just tend to think that different things look different on everyone depending on their body type, etc. I dont' target one specific clothing. Gosh, there are so many out there that I wouldnt' be caught dead in. unsure.gif

AshleyRose replied:
Jeez, it was definitely a thread for laughs.. Simma Down Now! rolleyes.gif

Anyway, I do like skorts.. however I do not have any at the moment... and none of that other stuff mentioned either.

JessC replied: I thought this was a really good and FUN topic!!!

I agree with you RAE! NO scrunchies!! I HATE those things, I think its because my moms husbands ex wife wears them, and we always make fun of her because she just wears ones with dolphins and sharks on them.... rolleyes.gif - this lady is like 50!? wacko.gif

But other than that, skorts, i do NOT like them i just would rather wear a skirt or shorts instead, JMO wink.gif cool.gif

Mommy2BAK replied: sure this is a fun topic as long as no one wears those things, but when people say they do and others continue to mock that is when I think it becomes sad and hurtful.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: As the first person to admit to wearing skorts and i did wear schrunchies when my hair was long I think this topic is funny. I couldn't care less if some annonymous internet people think i am making a fashion fopah. I love my skorts and anyone saying they are ugly or last year or whatever won't make one ounce of difference in my life.
That being said I wish I could fit in some of the skorts I bought last year so I could wear them them in front of Rae smile.gif

AshleyRose replied:
iagree.gif Great point!!! If we ALWAYS did and posted EVERYTHING based around peoples "feelings".. we wouldn't have much to say rolleyes.gif . I understand this is a "drama-free" board but poking a little fun at scrunchies and skorts does little to no harm.. if you seriously get offended by that than you shouldn't be on message boards nosmiley.gif.

Mommy2BAK replied:
WTH? Who are you to tell people that they needent be on message boards?
