Aagh! Chicken pox!
Josie83 wrote: Okay so I told you Cassie was clingy with me yesterday and upset when I wasn't there for her . . . well she and Jason came to pick me up form school and she came straight to me, gave me a massive hug and burst into tears which is not like her, she told me she wanted me . . . then Jason said she hadn't wanted him to change her top for her, but when he'd finally got it off there'd been like a bumpy rash on her stomach . . . so we took her for an emergency appointment at the doctor's and she's got chicken pox! Poor little thing! She's really hot and all flu-y and has these horrible bumps that are going to start to itch in the next couple of days. I hate seeing her ill, she's usually so happy and lively an dnow she's just sitting reading books and watching TV . . . also she doesn't want Daddy at the minute she wants Mummy, and gets upset when I leave her for any time . I just popped to school to leave a note in my teacher's pigeon hole to tell her I would maybe be off for a few days to look after her and thought I'd quickly pop on here to fill you all in. probably won't be around for a few days because of her being ill. Thanks for all your get well wishes, have a good weekend xx

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Awwww poor girl! I hope she feels better soon! Give her benelyn to relieve the itching, tylenol (motrin, advil etc.) to relieve the fever and put baking soda in her bath, this also helps with itching. I went through this with the older 2.

mummy2girls replied: Awwww poor thing! Try getting that aveno bath stuff. Its oatmeal type bath and it helps alot with the itching. I once was a nanny to twins a long time ago and they had it at the same time and that aveno bath stuff worked wonders. And then the calimine lotion is wonderful 2....i hope she feels better.

Josie83 replied: Hi have got like two minutes on here so thought I'd quickly update you all. Cassie seems to be doing okay, she's still not her usual self and is v clingy with me. Even a visit from her favourite uncle (blaise) didn't cheer her up. She's quite good about not sratching but I don't think they've got that itchy yet. I told her I'll stay off school with her as long as she's poorly and she seems to be happy with that. I just hate to see her ill though - and I'm not used to having her trailing after me! Its not like her to shun daddy in favour of mummy, its how we know she's ill. anyway thanks everyone for your get well wishes and advice and everything, Iu'll try it all out! Speak to you all soon xx
