AT&T

3xsthefun wrote: I need someone talk to me about cell phones. Does anyone have service through AT&T? I thought about getting a plan through them but was not sure how good they are. I'm not looking to get on the internet or anything. I just want a phone I could send text and talk.

We don't have very choices around here. I only have AT&T, US Cellular and Cellular One to choose from. AT&T and US Cellular have the best plans well cheapest.
The only problem is US Cellular don't have as many phones to pick from.

If you have AT&T do you have very many dropped calls? Do you get good service?

I also thought about just getting a new prepaid phone. I found one I really like. The only thing is Net 10 does not have very good customer service. It is a little cheaper then trying go through AT&T or US Cellular.

Ok, hopefully this post goes through this time. I had problems first two times.

5littleladies replied: We have AT&T. We have good coverage, but we have had problems here and there with dropped calls, calls not going through, etc. Honestly though, everyone I know has some complaint with their service provider. If someone has found the perfect cell phone company please let me know because I would love to switch! tongue.gif

3xsthefun replied: Ok, well it is good here someone say they are pretty good. I know there is no perfect cell company. I wish there was too. smile.gif It sure would be nice. LOL

Ugh..I still can't decide what to do. I'm just afraid if I commit to them and the phone might not even work here. That is one of the downsides of living in the boonies sometimes. laugh.gif Everyone we know gets pretty good signal up here that have cell phones. Not great but you know they at least get 3-4 bars.

I'm also scared of having another bill also. Ugh. Why does this have to be so hard to decide? Rob is no help either he said it is up to me.

coasterqueen replied: We have AT&T. No complaints, really. No issues at all, except in Chicago downtown the service can be spotty. I think the service issues really depend on your area, IMO. I liked Verizon too, but being that we live in the country their service wasn't as great out here, so we went with AT&T where we get better reception at our house, especially in the basement. I agree, I think everyone has some issue with their provider. As far as cost, I don't know if one is better than the other. My work pays for my cell, internet, and unlimited texting, so we pay very little for Ryan's phone and our house cell phone.

mom21kid2dogs replied: We have AT&T. They have been great here and much better than the Verizon he** we were living in. One of our biggest issue with verizon was that they had no coverage at our house. We could call but got service charges. FWIW, we got out of the contract without penalty because the contract guaranteed service at our house. We made sure our AT&T contract was the same. They should be able to let you know ahead if they cover you at your residence. Make sure you get it in writing.

A&A'smommy replied: I have att and they are terrible but great at the same time... rolleyes.gif I never have problems with dropped calls there are a few areas around here that have no cell service (and usually verizon does have service).
I LOVE my cell phone, in fact we are going to turn our house phone off because we really don't need it.

3xsthefun replied: Thanks you all have helped me out a bunch.

I need talk to Rob some more about this too. Maybe see what he thinks.
I don't really want get rid of my home phone right now. Maybe just try to get the bill down lower. That is if I decide to get a cell phone.

If you live in the boonies it might not matter what company you get. tongue.gif We have Alltel it's one of the only two that cover our area, (AT&T isn't one of them) and the only place that I ever really have trouble is at home. Every once in a while there will be a dead spot in a store or on the road but at home we drop calls ALL the time. They put up another tower recently so it's been better, but not perfect. We live in the middle of nowhere, in the country between two tiny dying towns. rolleyes.gif

bluebear replied: It honestly depends on your area. My cousin had AT&T and got rid of his iPhone because it was such bad service where he lives. He just went back to AT&T after having Verizon and he says it's still awful but it's improved.

luvbug00 replied: we ditched our house phone too. but you may want to check coverage on line. Most cell companies show you where they do and do not have coverage. that should help a little but really it's impossible to say unless you talk to somone with that service who lives in YOUR area. verizon is great here but t-mobile is not, sprint is but boost is not kwim.

3xsthefun replied: I did check online to see if they cover my area and they do. I guess I just wanted to see if anyone had a plan through them and liked it. I figured there would be mixed opinions on it. I read reviews at another site to and there was a bunch of mixed opinions on the company.

We live in the boonies but our area is not as bad as some in WV. Oh, well guess I'll just have really think this one over before I decide. I don't want to make a bad decision is all.

I don't really know anyone has AT&T it seems like a lot of them go through US Cellular or Verizon. But Verizon doesn't even cover my area it does cover the next county over which is only 25 mins away which is weird.

jcc64 replied: We have iphones, so we have to use AT & T. I'm not a fan--other companies have better coverage around here, but we have no choice.

A&A'smommy replied:
Iphone is the biggest reason why I have stuck with att, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE my iphone!! thumb.gif

youngmomofone replied: Dh has a phone through at&t and it has always worked well. He has a simple cheap phone and he gets service just about every where we have went.
