ASHLEY WON AT THE ROBOT RUMBLE!!! - Pics inside.

MommyToAshley wrote: We went to the children's museum today as they were having Robot Wars. We went to see the robots that others had made battle it out, but they also had a section where kids could battle other robots that were provided by the museum. The object was to either push the other robot out of bounds or to push their red button (with the robot) while protecting your own red button. There were three robots in the battle, and if your button got pushed, the flag on top would spin and your controller would no longer work.... you are then disqualified. Same thing happened if you went out of bounds. I have a few pics, if you want to see.

Ashley was the youngest one there driving the robots, and she won! ohmy.gif She LOVED every minute of it and had such a great time!

MommyToAshley replied:
The entire event was sponsored by a Robotics club. Ashley wanted to join but the first age bracket is 9-14 years of age, and then they have another group that starts at hight school level. I joked with Rod and told him that when she is 9yrs old, I can take her to ballet and Girl Scouts and he can take her to Robotics Club. rolling_smile.gif

I was actually surprised how good she was with the controls. Each knob controls one side of the robot.... so to move it forward, you have to push both forward and to move backward, you have to push both knobs backward. To turn, you have to move one set of wheels in one direction and the other set of wheels in the opposite direction. I think I would have gotten confused, but she did great. She wants to build a Robot with Daddy for next year's event. laugh.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
