ANY OPRAH - LETTERS???

My2Beauties replied: I want to do it but I honestly haven't found time to do it. Did we decide this was a go for sure? I wouldn't want them mentioning the site name on the show because of the large amount of traffic we would get, could crash the server or something TLCDad was saying, so that would be my one stipulation

luvbug00 replied: When we write the letters should we put our last names in them?? Oh and there may be a buch of people checking out the site but they will eventually taper off don't you think?? I could be wrong but it just may be curiosity that get's them to check it out for a bit.

TLCDad replied: Actually the more I think about it, there might not be a problem if they mention the site on air. What hurts web servers is when there are thousands of hits to the site simultaneously like when everyone clicks on a link at the same time. But, since this will be on TV, people will just write down the address and since the majority will be only watching and not near a computer at the time, the visits will not be at the exact same time.

So it should be ok if they mention the site.

Dear Oprah,

Approximately three years ago I met, well sort of met the best group of ladies you could ever know. I say sort of because we’ve never actually seen face to face.

You see when I was a few months pregnant with my now 2 year old I was looking for a place with a little support. Being the shy person that I am, I turned to the internet in search of a Parenting and Pregnancy Club. That’s exactly what I found. After browsing through a couple sites, I found the one which I now call my second home.

It’s now been just over two years, and I’ve seen so many of their babies grow up and reach their milestones, just as excited for their little ones, as I am for my own children.

These ladies are there to talk when you’re having a bad day, when you want to share good news, or if you just want to be silly. We share ideas on parenting, sex, fashion, health, and recipes.

Unfortunately because of the distance most of us will never meet and never know what our friends on the other side of the border look like, that’s why we’d like to get together at your show. We thought maybe you do a show on people that have met through the internet.

It’s just a thought. Thanks. 

Dear Oprah,
I was on the computer at home and searching out of curiosity for a website where I could talk to other moms. I am a young mother and I have been having trubble finding friends. Many parents in my community judge me for being soo young and having a child. So I found this site..The parenting club. I Finally found a place where the moms who are of all ages are happy to talk.There are even lot's of loving devoted fathers on the site!! We Are all a family. Somthing I have had trubble finding in my life. I feel like I fit in here. Everyone listens to eachother and responds. Weither you are happy at the news of a new job or pregnancy or the sadness of a layoff or miscarrage Everyone becomes involved. The give me advice and teach me so many things. Moms have sent eachother things the others may need but do not have accsess to. There are moms from arround the world! But the most importent part is the fact that no matter what they are always there. I would be greatful to be able to meet them and thank them for all they have given me and taught me.
