ACcckkk! How do you keep them out of the dresser?

MommyToAshley wrote: Ashley won't stay out of her dressers. It is useless for me to fold her clothes:

MommyToAshley replied: This is after I have gotten her out of her dresser for the millionth time:

MommyToAshley replied: Getting busted and making a run for it:

MommyToAshley replied: I really don't want to put those childproof locks on all the drawers, because then it's hard for me to get into her dresser with one hand (which I do often after her bath) What do you do?

I am glad that the dresser does have those childproof thingys on the drawers so that she can't pull the drawers all the way out.

kit_kats_mom replied: Those are some cute pics! she looks like a little mischef maker ohmy.gif

I would buy her a polyester wardrobe...stuff that won't wrinkle. Then you don't have to fold it thumb.gif just toss it back in the drawer when she's done playing. LOL

Seriously, I hang most of K's clothes. The others (sleepwear, undershirts, sweats etc) are fair game for the drawer monkey. I do have to keep the closet door closed though. The few times I've forgotten to close it, she's taken almost everything off of the hangars on the bottom rod. dry.gif One other idea that I just thought of. Can you put the dresser in a closet? Then you could close the door.

A&A'smommy replied: your little girl is such a ham!! She is SOOO cute and SOOOO funny!!!! rolling_smile.gif wub.gif

MomToMany replied: rolling_smile.gif LOL! Hannah does the same thing! I can't keep her out of it; she always thinks it's time to get her jammies on or to get a bib for mealtimes.

Sorry I don't have any ideas for you. I just let Hannah have fun with it all; if her clothes are a little wrinkled, it doesn't bother me. Her "good" clothes are hanging in the closet, though. It's mainly her play clothes I let her play with. She'll even try to put them on over her other clothes.

Another thing she likes to do is help fold laundry. But even then, she's trying on everyones clothes (including DH's underwear rolleyes.gif !). Maybe she wants to be a model? LOL!

MomofTay&Sam replied: tongue.gif I know I know not funny! I know a little boy who does the samething!! I have no clue what to do, I am folding to much though. emlaugh.gif

ediep replied: yup, Jay does the same thing....when you figure out a solution, let me know! rolling_smile.gif

aspenblue1 replied: Aww she looks so cute.

Isabella does that also. I have no clue on how to stop her.

kimberley replied: LOL! Ashley is too funny and cute! wub.gif i love the getaway pic lol rolling_smile.gif

hanging things in the closet is all i could do also. the boys still do this when deciding what to wear rolleyes.gif good luck!

booey2 replied: Thomas likes to play in them when he can. I also hang stuff. He now gets in the drawers in his brothers room and uses them for stairs to reach the higher shelves on the dresser. sad.gif Sorry I am of no help. I just love this age. rolling_smile.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: she is so funny! rolling_smile.gif I hang most of her clothes and she has not played in her dress yet, but then again she cant get to it right now....must clean her room. If she does she will be only able to reach the bottem two which right now are sheets and blankets......sounds like fun smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: LOL! Not sure what to do. I hang all of Kylie's clothes up including her jammies. Her socks and miscellaneous stuff are still in baskets underneath her changing table for the moment. I did this because I didn't want her seeing me always going to the dresser to get clothes ergo thinking she can do it. I use her dresser as storage for now, lol.

Course it won't be too long be4 we get rid of the changing table and then I will have to use the drawer. Not sure what to do then. huh.gif

Schnoogly replied: So apparently I'm the only one who has a "clean pile" and a "dirty pile" of clothes in his room? It's useless putting things in the drawers. Who cares if their clothes are wrinkled anyway? It's clean that counts. He won't even let me go to the bathroom or eat, there's no way I'd have the time to hang up all his clothes. Madness.

MommyToAshley replied: I do hang a lot of her stuff, but there's not room in her closet to hang everything. I don't hang a lot of her onsies, t-shirts, jammies, and some every day clothes. It doesn't really bother me that she drags the clothes all over the house... she helps (kind-of) pick them back up. But, since she doesn't watch where she walks, I am afraid of her walking into an open drawer.

I never thought of putting it in the closet. The only problem is that it is also the changing table, it's a combo changing table/dresser. There wouldn't be room to change Ashley if I put it in her closet.

MommyToAshley replied:
ohmy.gif I hope Ashley doesn't start doing that! ohmy.gif

DansMom replied: I just let him do it. The drawer he opens most often is sleepers, and everything is always a bit wrinkled anyway since DH does the laundry and folding. laugh.gif

Those photos are great!!! You've really got a knack for capturing Ashley's personality. I might try your no-flash technique in the future.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: LOL! Those pics are so cute. You gotta love them when they are mischievous. wink.gif Maddie was the worst meddler. She was constantly into something. Sorry, no advice here.

kit_kats_mom replied:
LOL. IF K had her own room, we would probably do that too. Actually, I only hang her stuff to save me time in the am. Im a totally lazy/non morning person so I hang full outfits up, straight out of the drier. That way I don't have to worry about her looking like a goofball when I take her out. I just let her play with the clothes in the basket while I'm hanging her stuff.

jem0622 replied: The only way I can prevent it is to not allow him in the room to hang out or be there while I'm doing my chores. But I generally don't fold and put away at the same time...and the place where I fold is protected by a safety gate.

Oh, they are stinkers they are! LOL.
