A question for the masses - what did you.......
TANNER'S MOM wrote: Want to name your children that you didn't or DH just wouldnt go for?
Brittany Michelle= Brittany Caroline.. A name I love but the EX didnt
Justin Baily Chance= Justice Avery ... the ex really hated that one
Tanner Layne= Elijah James if he was a girl he would have been Ashlyn Caroline Grace.. I finally found some one to go w/ the Caroline and then I had a boy! But now I can't imagine calling Tanner anything but...Elijah doesnt fit at all!
And the same for Justin.. I cant even Imagine@!
moped replied: If Jack was a girl she would have been Sloan
The other boy name was Charlie
ammommy replied: I wanted Megan to be either Julia or Lauren.
mckayleesmom replied: Mckaylee Grace was going to be Olivia Hunter Grace...but we changed it...She was going to be Mckaylee Hunter Grace...but we dropped the hunter...we liked it...but it was such a long name already. Her grandpa still calls her his little Hunter anyways.
If Mckaylee was a boy...her name would have been Maxwell or Lance.....dh's pick..not mine.
If Russell was a girl...I liked the names Addison Rose...Brynleigh Rose...Kensliegh Rose....and a bunch of others....We finally compromised on Scottlynn Rose.....
Dh...chose the boys name...Russell Nathaniel...I didn't like it...but it was part of a bet we made and now I can't see him named anything else.
ammommy replied: That makes me think of Ferris Bueler's Day off It's a pretty name, though.
mammag replied: Well, we agreed on the first three but I wanted to name Keegan, Logan Xavier instead of Keegan Xavier. He said we couldn't because that is Wolverine's name and then there is an Xavier I guess in the comic book too so he thought he would be made fun of.
stanleygirl replied: I wanted to name Kieran Carson, but dh would have no part of that!! (But he wanted to name him Angus!!! lol)
And if either boys had been a girl then she would have been Chloe Alsyssa Star.
mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Wil's real name is Richard after my DH. His middle name is William, which I would rather be his first name. We compromised using Wil as his first name. It gets confusing. If Wil had been a girl, we both liked Annika.
But my favorite name for a girl is Evelyn because I like Eva for short...but way before Eva Longoria came along!! DH doesn't like it.
ions_momma replied: We planned on naming Ion, Caiden Matthew but then one of our good friends got in a motorcycle accident and he died a few days before Ion was born so we decided to name our baby after him. He still has his daddy's middle name though!
A&A'smommy replied: Well if Alyssa had been a boy she would have been dalton William if we hadn't changed our minds... I also like destiny for a girl!
kimberley replied: Jacob... i wanted to call him Anthony but the ex said no
Jade... i liked Sierra, DH hated it
this baby... i love Jack, DH hates it
Ashes78 replied: I wanted to name Zach, Sean, but my ex didn't like it. I wanted to name Xander, Zander with a Z but hubby wanted to name him Evan. He finally agreed to Xander when I was like "Well, what if we spell it with a X instead."
kellibellisdillybear replied: that is so funny mammaq, my dh had the same "logan issues", And i love the name Keegan, but dh wasn't budging from Dylan!
Alice replied: I wanted Julia to be Caroline, but Peter hates the Neil Diamond song "Sweet Caroline"
luvbug00 replied: Mya should have been derek nicholas - stetson and last name. Mya has 2 middle names it's her dad's family tradition.
MommyToAshley replied: I really liked the name Richelle (pronounced like Michelle but with a "R") but DH didn't like it.
We both liked Paige for a first name and Ashley was almost named Paige.... we decided at the very last minute. We almost spelled her name Ashleigh, but then we thought it would get mispronounced too much.
MommyToAshley replied: Sierra was on our short list too.
Jamison'smama replied: Jamison was pretty much the only name we were ever set on---her middle name changed often
Jack was always Jonathan Howard--still is but we call him Jack
If he would have been a girl he would have been Reese Joan (Joan after DH's late mother)
A second boy would have been Samuel Preston or Samuel Lawrence
huggybugboy replied: I really liked the name Ruby Grace if Miles was a boy. dh didn't like it too much. We thought about Tylor Paige (also for a girl) but I'm glad he was a boy and we didn't have to decide on a girls name (yet!)
b&bsmom replied: Brittany was always Brittany although her middle name we had was Amber but that would have made her intials BAD so we changed it to Sue after my grandmother.
Bryce was always Bryce after Bryce Jordan center in Penn State ( dh wanted) but I said no to jordan so he took james after my dh
If bryce had been a girl it was Jillian Amber (dh turn to pick)
I love the name shane for a boy or dylan but dh won't go for it. We had trouble with boy names.
3'smom replied: Cierra Danielle - I liked Tobi Leeanne Jakob Ray - I didn't like the middle but it's dh, his dad's and granpa's middle name, so I changed up the spelling of the first name which dh hates. Also he wanted to name him Rowdy Ray at first. Jaiden Alexandra. I liked Jaiden Elizabeth or Jaiden McKenzie better but he didn't even like jaiden, so I compromised.
punkeemunkee'smom replied: I always thought that since we carry the baby we should have ALOT more say in their names!! I liked the names Lilly, Julia, and Cora for girls. But daddy wanted to name her so I agreed...Now I am glad that I did because she says "My daddy named me and he says I have the prettiest name in the world!" I should be flattered too I suppose, she has my first name as her middle name!
If we have another girl I like the name Teagan that way they would have similar names. If we have a boy he will be named after daddy and grandpa
Josie83 replied: Jason and I had big disputes over Cassie's name It seemed like everything I liked he hated, and everything he liked I hated.
We almost called her Jessica but then we would have had three J names, and he said Jessie/Jess was too close to Josie/Jose which is what he calls me
I liked Jenna, Bethany, Holly, Maddie and Megan - he didn't
He liked Charlotte, Sophie and Gaby - I didn't
We both liked Katelyn but my sister had a baby Kate two months before Cassie was born so that wouldn't have worked
We eventually decided on Cassie but the middle names were up for discussion I wanted Poppy but he told me not to be so ridiculous and he wanted Charlotte and I told him it was too much of a mouthful. we decided on MAria after my sister
If she was a boy she would have been Rhys, Sam, Jack or Ben . . . we hadn't decided which. If we have another girl 9at any time) she'll probably be called Annabelle xx
Sarah&Mackenzie replied: The deal was I pick the girl name and DH picked the boy name. I knew I wanted Mackenzie Rae. But if it was a boy it would have been Brandon Austin. I like the boy name Aiden or Ethan, but DH doesn't.
My2Beauties replied: OMG my DH and I had the biggest fights over girl names. If Hanna was going to be a boy it would have been Brian Ray Jr. no questions asked he wanted him named after him and I like his name, plus my brother's name is Brian. With Hanna, I wanted so badly to name her Olivia Marie, I love the name Olivia. DH said that it sounded like an old woman's name and he would have no part of it Then I said Grace, he said no to that too. His brother's cat is named Grace so he didn't like that I also liked the name Ava, pronounced A-va, long A, Ava Marie, and he said it sounds like that wedding song, and he wasn't going with that neither. BTW we did play that at our wedding! LOL! I literally had a list of like 12 names that I liked and liked the meaning of. There was a difference between the meaning of Hanna and Hannah - I can't remember what it was now but we liked the meaning of Hanna better without the "H!" My friend was so mad at me, she said LeaAnn you're messing up the perfect palindrome! Oh well. He thought that Hanna would be easier for her to spell to, um just one more letter babe, but hey I digress! I like the fact that it is spelled differently from most other Hanna's. Little did I know too that the year Hanna was born, Hanna(h) was the second most popular girl name I wanted her to be different, I only knew one Hannah my whole life in elementary school and it was very unique back then. Oh well, I still love the name.
coasterqueen replied: Well we always agreed on a boys name, it was the girls name we never agreed on very well. I had always, always wanted to name a girl Christianna (Christi-Anna) with the A sounds like ah. I just love, love that name but DH said that name is a bit too snobbish for our family.
Oh the other name I wanted for a girl was Lauren, but DH's grandfather's name was Loren (same pronunciation) and he wanted our children to have their *own* names.
Mommy2BAK replied: I have always had the name Blakley picked out (since I was 10) but when I got pregnant I started thinking I liked the names Haylie or McKinna or Emily. But John didn't like any of them. He wanted to name her Allison Blakely but that sounded weird so we settled on Blakely Allison.
ZandersMama replied: If we had a girl, Rebecca Rita or Courtney Marie. We knew we were having a boy early in pregnancy, and fought alot about the name. DH first wanted to name him James, which is a great name, but our last name is Bond so no go. We ended up agreeing on Zander. Next one will be Zach or Zoe.
Mom2Boyz replied: We didn't even think of another name for Conner. His first name is actually Larry, after dh, but he goes by Conner because that was the deal dh and I made. We could name him Larry, but I got to choose the middle name, and that's what we get to call him.
With Caden, it took us forever to agree on a name. I wanted to stick to a name that started with a "C", but dh didn't really want to. He wanted to name him either......Ethan or Dayton. Finally When I suggested Caden Kristopher, he agreed only because Kristopher is his Middle name. (What a sucker )
debbiedoo replied: dh wanted to name her " Keiko" which is apparantly a very common japanese girls name ( he is japanese).
to me, Keiko is the killer whale at Sea World. So I would have no part of that...lol
I then told him that when he was pregnant for 9 months and gave birth, he could name the baby Keiko.
Her name is Rachel Yvonne. lol
We are ttc #2, if it is a girl, it will be Emma Kathryn, if it is a boy it will be Robert Justin
the boys name we arestil iffy on, but we both LOVE the name Emma Kathryn!
iluvmysweetiepies replied: Oh, yes. We always fought over names. It was a constant battle between family members having already used names we liked and DH not liking the names I liked. I always wanted to use the name Juliann or Julianna, but DH just wouldn't settle for it. He did pick out Sofia's name- which I LOVED! I wanted to spell it Sophia, but I let him have his way.
amynicole21 replied: My favorite names were: Boys: Maddox, Miles, Samuel Girls: Jillian, Georgia, Macy, Paige, Lilia
Do you believe that DH actually suggested "Mocha" at one point?
