A picture I wanted to share...
MommyToAshley wrote: This is Ashley and one of her best friends (they have been friends since the start of preschool). I was feeling a bit sentimental and just thought I would share. I didn't take the pic, my friend did. But, I love it.

~Roo'sMama~ replied: What a cute picture! Ashley's hair is beautiful!
lisar replied: I love her hair in that picture. Although it makes her look much older.
Kaitlin'smom replied: is that Kelsie? I love Ashleys hair, how did you get it to hold?
moped replied: I love that picture!!!!!! Her hair is wonderfully thick and beautiful!
MommyToAshley replied: Yup, that's Kelsey.
Well, to start with, we had about 4 inches cut off her hair so her hair wasn't as heavy. We didn't cut it so we could curl it, but it helped it to hold, I think. (Her bangs aren't really uneven, they just look like that in the photo for some reason)
Anyways, I used a professional grade gel and then rolled it really tight and then used a hair dryer on it. It's not something I would do on a regular basis because I don't like using those products in her hair or using the blow dryer on it. It was super super tight curls when I first unrolled it... it was up to her earlobes -- lol.
CantWait replied: That's a great picture indeed.
Kaitlin'smom replied: sorry I had not clue how to spell her name
sounds like kaitlin hair yesterday when I took them down from the pillow rollers she slept in, they were so tight and made her hair so short, but they soften up.
its pretty did they last long?
my2monkeyboys replied: Such a cute picture! I bet she'll cherish that one day....
A&A'smommy replied: awwwwww sweet!!!
MommyToAshley replied: Thanks everyone for your sweet comments.
It came out by the end of the day....
Here's what it looked like later that same day after a photo session, two hours of cheering, lunch, a couple hours of shopping (in and out of the rain), and then two hours of bouncing on inflatables. LOL But, you can really tell in this picture how much we chopped off her hair.
jcc64 replied: She looks like she's 10, Dee Dee! I like everyone else apparently, love her hair like that. Corey is obsessed with cheerleaders, I'll show her the pic when she gets home from school. What does she cheer for, or is it an independent squad? Cheerleading is not a big activity around here, ds' high school Varsity football team doesn't even have cheerleaders. It's too bad, the girls seem to really enjoy doing it. Anyway, tfs, and thanks again for the Corey gymnastics advice, you really helped me out more than you know.
MommyToAshley replied: Cheerleading seems to be big around here... there's lots of opportunity through community leagues, cheer and dance studios, schools, etc. I have to admit that I am not a big fan of cheerleading (sorry, I hope I don't offend any of the cheerleaders out there) and this was completely Ashley's idea. She wanted to play basketball too, but she had to choose since both were at the same time. She ultimately chose cheerleading even though I think I may have tried to persuade her a little towards basketball. This is going to sound aweful, but I wasn't willing to make the committment or spend the money for competitive cheer at this age, so she does it through a church league with a group of her friends. It's fun, casual, and they cheer for both teams. I think she wants to pursue it more and I may have to give in and let her try the competitive route some time in the future, but then it may loose what she likes most about it. Sorry, didn't mean to give such a long answer for a simple question.
I'm glad to hear things turned around with Corey. I've been wanting to ask you for an update. If she did decide to stay with gymnastics, then if she wants to pursue cheerleading later, she will have a huge advantage over the other girls.
luvbug00 replied: super cute pic of them
Calimama replied: I love Ashley's hair! Gorgeous as always!
