A great update from my mom

kit_kats_mom wrote: We were very pleased with the new CA125 (cancer marker which started at 2000+ when she found out about the cancer) number of 35! That's the high end of the normal range and shows I'm responding well to the chemo. The sample was drawn last Friday, the 4th, and I still hadn't had my 3rd treatment. As I said we were very pleased.

My WBC was still .2 lower than where they like to see it but it had been a little over 5 weeks since round two and Dr. Broeseker decided to go ahead but reduce the dosages of the chemo drugs to save a little wear and tear on my bone marrow. I'll be getting the Neulasta shot tomorrow and will see Dr. B in 10 days for interim blood work. I was glad he decided to proceed today. I was ready to get things going again and now I'm halfway to the end. Just 3 more cycles to go.

I'm going to do my best to be careful about handwashing, etc. since I'll probably be a bit more vulnerable until that WBC comes back up. We also noticed that my RBC (red blood cell) count is fairly low so I wouldn't be surprised if the fatigue is more pronounced this time (we can hope not!) but I'll just take it as it comes and listen to my body.

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I can't believe how many lists I'm on. It's very humbling and greatly appreciated, and very helpful! Thanks again, Susan
