8 weeks pregnant and not many cravings.
Aria wrote: 3 weeks ago I was craving sushi. I finally got sushi and now I can't stand the thought of sushi.
2 weeks ago I was craving thai, so I got thai with tofu and now I can't stand tofu.
My favorite food and has always been is spaghetti but now the thought of it makes me sick to my stomach.
This Thanksgiving, I went to visit the family and the smell of Turkey was awful.
There isn't much I feel like eating right now and I'm concerned because the following food I used to love to eat makes me want to hug the toilet.
-Spaghetti -Lasagna -Tofu -Chicken -Turkey -Ham -Sandwiches with meat -Macaroni and cheese -Pizza -Chips -Beef -Beans -Any type of flavored rice -Hot dogs -Thai food -Sushi -Ravioli
What should I do? Any advice and will I ever like these foods again?
jolene555 replied: honestly i am surprised you have had any cravings at all at 8 weeks. most women i know personally didn't have any until late 2nd/early 3rd trimester. however, i recall early on having serious adversions to many foods. my entire first trimester i couldn't bare the smell, much less the taste, of any foods. i lived off of buttered toast for 3 months!!! don't worry about disliking foods at this point - you'll most likely be wanting them like crazy in a couple months.
A&A'smommy replied: Okay TOTALLY normal!!! I was the SAME way my fav foods before I hated them while I was pregnant! Don't worry you will probably like them again after you have the baby or towards the end of your pregnancy. If you like to read (and really during my pregnancy its what kept me sane!) try "what to expect when your expecting" and dr. sears has some interesting information they both would probably make you feel a LOT better they will answer ALL your questions plus some! Here are some links!

Tamatha replied: I hear ya!
I work with attorneys, and one of the attorneys at work has spent the last month in Europe. He brought back authentic Belgian chocolates! They looked sooooo scrumptious, and being the chocoholic that I am, I dove right in! Then almost tossed my cookies... it was NOT good! DH thinks there may be something wrong with me... LOL Its just not like me to not love chocolate! Haven't had too many other aversions, just sweet stuff. Although, when I'm hungry, nothing sounds good until I put it in my mouth. Then I'm usually ok! So I'm there with ya!! Don't worry!!
Littlejojames replied: I'm just under 20 weeks and have not had a single craving yet.
Everyone is different, i did go througha stage though when i wanted something went mad on it then moved on to something else, food tastes so much different than before.
I have also gone off foods which i loved, i cant even be in the same room when a pizza is cooking it turns my stomach really bad and i think that they look so greasy.
I'm sure that everything will be back to normal when the baby has arrived and you start to become yourself again.
Nicole replied: Hun i was having cravings for things i don`t like at 8/9 weeks and hated the things i did like! It`s all very normal! Either it will last until your baby is born or go away before who know`s! Sorry i don`t know that there`s anything much you can do about it, i think you`ll just have to live with it!
smullin replied: I have had major cravings. Pickles mostly. I am ten weeks today. I am with you on foods you normally eat making you sick. I can't eat sandwiches with meat or hot dogs. Certain resteraunt make me sick just thinking about them and fast food makes me sick just thinking about it. Somethings I loved make me sick. I thinking this will pass because my morning sickness just makes everything icky sometimes.

Aria replied: Thanks everyone for the info.
Mommy2BAK replied: Belive it or not I never had a single craving! I've had them before I was pregnant and I have them now but never during pregnancy did I have them. Very Wierd I know!
angelhair replied: I cannot eat anything in the am, not even ginger ale. get so sick that i dread mornings. not even anti nausea medications work anymore. I am so glad to eat in the afternoon that I take anything! am just over 8 weeks I know it is difficult. love dee
Aria replied: Is it also normal to already show when you are 8-9 weeks pregnant?
Sorry for the questions, I'm new to this.
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Hi! Welcome to the board!!
With my second pregnancy I showed early on and with my first I was more bloated in the beginning than "showing."
I'm sorry you are having so much nausea. There really is nothing to prevent it. Trust me, I've tried everything. You do need to make sure you get something in your stomach, though. Your blood sugar could get low and if you are rushing around you may not know it until you have fainted on the floor. I did this when I was pg with my son (at the grocery store of all places) Hang in there....the aversions should pass just as quickly as they came. You won't be this way forever.
Just a note on the sushi. I was advised not to eat it. I just wanted to warn you since you are new at this. My doctor wasn't real strict on what I could or could not eat, but he did tell me to stay far away from raw fish! You may want to check with your doctor on this...although from the sound of it you won't be having it anytime soon!
Aria replied: haha thanks Maddie! Yeah no more sushi
After I ate sushi I thought to myself "Gross, what was I thinking ugggh"
