I started back on the diet wagon in mid September of 2005. I weighed in at 166.5 when I started and got down to 146 by the end of 2005. With the lovely holidays I managed (ya real hard, I know ) to gain 3 pounds back so....
Weigh-in today: 149 Goal weight: 129
My plan: To lose 1 pound a week. I'd like to lose more but I'm not going to pressure myself or else I'll fail. I hope to start exercising here again and I need to drink WATER. Right now I'm barely drinking any.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Well I gain 1lbs since last week. I know I did not eat well during the viewing, funeral and new years eve, and AF is here so I really did expect to see it go up. Even though I expected it I am sad at the same time. However I did loose 5lbs in Dec and they are NOT going to come back ever if I can help it. Its a new week, I am eating bettering and getting some for of exersize in everyday since Jan 1, and so far so good.

coasterqueen replied: Di. I feel your pain. Gaining 3 pounds after I've done so well for so long was a huge blow for me, but I decided it's a new year, it's going to be a new me and the only way to get there is to forget everything/all the holiday eating and start over. It's all we can do.
Please don't ever get depressed about weighing in on AF time. We all know we will 'gain' some during AF time, but almost every time it goes back down as soon as it's gone .

Kaitlin'smom replied: thanks Karen I have forgiven myself for it, last week was terribly stressfully and draining both emotionaly and physicaly. IT IS A NEW YEAR and it will get better.
Oh my goal is to loss 1lb a week, take it slow and steady, I dont want to put to much pressure on me or I will fail and give up.
To you Karen I know you can do it also.
Our Lil' Family replied: Ok, well here's the dreaded #. Today I'm at 182, my goal for now is 150 which is what I weighed the day I got married (almost 5 years ago). I thought I was at 180 when I did my ticker yesterday, but I'll just leave it as is and change it later.
My goal for today is LOTS OF WATER.
I found something interesting from that fitday.com website Mel posted. According to it I burned twice as much calories as I took in yesterday. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary and I ate horribly....so why if I burned more than I took in am I not losing weight without trying? Maybe bad eating choices??
jacobsmama replied: I don't have the courage yet to put a ticker with my weight but I want to lose like 50lbs. I'm always going to be bigger 160-170 is a good weight for me but after I had Jacob I have just been so stressed and made so many excuses with the new year I"m going to cut that out! I want to drink more water and eat ONLY when i'm hungry...I tend to just eat for no reason. I Also have to exercise alot..That is just my body like 3-5 times a week hard so i'm going to do this!
So I have lost nothing so far.. But today is a new day
TANNER'S MOM replied: Well I am not happy with my weigh in this morning either.
As we all know I started last year wearing in at 215lbs.. I have worked so hard to lose my weight. Over 50lbs!
I had weighed all last week and even yesterday..and I weighed 156lbs...this morning I weighed 157.4 I was so sad. I know it is just a pound..but a depressing pound. I want to see 155 so bad...bad bad bad!
Well her is my pic to start off this month. Last month per my doctor I lost 11lbs total. I need to do that again this month..and hit my goal~
Excuse my face..it looks weird. Tanner took this one too.. not the best. But this is me before I went to work. Pics really help me see where I need to go!

And you should be the weight that you feel most comfortable for your body type and only do what you are comfortable with. We are here to support you, not shame you in any way.

Karen when I saw your family pics..I could tell a huge difference in your face! You are doing so good.. We will all get back on track and get where we need to be!
Di, You know when I started this you were such an inspiration! And I a few lbs today..and loose 5 tomorrow..we can do this deal. You have AF happening..and I think it is coming..so all in all..we shouldn't stress tomuch.. Next week will be so much better!
TANNER'S MOM replied: I know exactly where you are coming from. I have been there. One thing I say is set mini goals for yourself...you know. Like this month 7lbs..and once you met that you feel so much stronger for the next month! I know you can do it and the water is a perfect step in the right direction..exercise too. I know when I started.. I could only walk one lap..now it's more..but just do it a little at a time girl. Park farther away, that is one thing I did that helped me. At work and Wal mart..it really made me realize every time I was making an effort..
We will be there for you..and no judgement from us..we are all in the same boat.
Kaitlin'smom replied: Mel-You look beautiful. Looks like we all are staring with a little gain. I will say it so what no big deal we can loss that and more. We can do this together girls I know we can. Mel you are totaly my inspiration, you have losed over 50lbs and that is so awsome girl. My over all goal is 40lbs total from starting weight. and I lost 5lbs in Dec so those are NOT coming back I will try harder and I am loggin things in on the website you posted to help me see where I might be going wrong.
I to will only eat when I am hungry, and if I have a craving for something eat it but in moderation so I dont pig out all at once.
Girls We are gonna look SO HOT buy Spring/Summer our SO/DH better watch out.

TANNER'S MOM replied: Last night I was soooo hungry as I was cooking.. I didnt' know what to do! It was killing me.. I ate a few mini rice cakes..but I was thinking ..no white at night rule! I just was so hungry.. it was killing me. I finally said..Okay Melba..what are yougoing to do. I was afraid to eat only at supper..afraid that my portion size would be crazy..lol I grabbed an apple and it did help me. I grabbed my apple and water. But I felt a big spin coming. I was running around my kitchen like a crazy person!

I am not sure of what my weight is and I don't own a scale, all I know is that my clothes were starting to get snug and I decided to dust off my gazelle and get moving. I am also changing my eating habits and have started to eat breakfast again. I find that if I eat breakfast, especially porridge I am not so hungry in the morning and can make it til lunch ok.
I am aiming to do at least 1 mile a day on my gazelle and since Sunday I have done it 2 out of 3 days. Monday we walked around the zoo for 1 and a half hours, up and down hills so I didn't do my workout at home. Last night I was lying in bed having not down my gazelle yet and I couldn't go to sleep so at 10pm I got up and did it and fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow.
Keep up the great work ladies and results will follow.
Just wanted to add that when all is said and down my ultimate weight loss goal will be about 140-150 pounds. For now I am taking it in little steps of about 10 pounds at a time so I don't get too overwhelmed.
~Roo'sMama~ replied: Well I was afraid to weigh myself because I haven't since before the holidays, but it looks like I somehow managed not to gain anything.
Today I weigh 160.6 lbs. I have lost 40 pounds since having Roo ~ I need to lose 20 more to get to my pre-pregnancy weight but I'd like to lose at least 30. My ideal weight that I think I look best at is 125 but I don't know if I'll ever get there again.
I don't really have a goal of how much I'd like to lose each week, my goal is just to exercise at least 4 or 5 days a week, drink lots of water, and eat healthier.
Now I'm off to find a cool ticker.

ammommy replied: I find that those calorie counters aren't really accurate. For me, I know that if I don't get my heart rate up (or do exercise other than normal walking) I just don't burn fat. It could also be food choices. I know that I seem to have a harder time digesting 100 calories worth of bread than 100 calories worth of apples.
I did a lot better than I expected in December since I didn't drink anything other than coffee, soda, and alcohol. I gained 3 pounds so I'm up to 184 with a goal of 155. Water and exercise will be key for me this week, I think. At nap time, I'll do my transFIRMer cardio since tomorrow is weights.

ammommy replied: I love soups! They are quick, cheap, easy to make up in big batches, filling, and a great way to get your veggies in. I had a hout and sour veggie soup for lunch today and yesterday had a low fat chicken tortilla soup (not tortillas, though).

Morning weigh in : 228 lbs. Goal Weight: 160 lbs Weight to loose: 68 lbs Weightloss goal per week 1.5 lbs. So it should take me about 45 weeks to loose my weight is i consistantly loose 1.5 lbs. Not too bad, less than 1 year.
Side note here.. i started actively trying to loose weight (changing eating habits, excercise, etc) on Nov 1 2005. My weight on that day was 248 lbs. SO in 8 weeks (i was down to 219 pre christmas) I lost 29 lbs (and have gained 9 back). So I lost 3.6 lbs per week. SO I KNOW i can do the 1.5~~~ (Wouldn't it be so nice if i could keep losing the 3.6 per week )

Elza replied: I might as well try to lose weight. This is the heaviest I ever have been except when I was pregnant. None of my clothes fit and my husband won't give me any money to get any (we are a bit short on funds this month he says). My goal is to try and get up early every other morning and do yoga or pilates. Haven't decided which one yet. I am also going to cut back on bread (I love bread way to much lol).

5littleladies replied: I thought I had around 16 pounds to lose but somehow I lost about 10 pounds over the holidays. So yay! I have about 6 pounds to go until I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight of 126. More than anything I would like to tighten up my tummy-I don't think I've been flab-less since I had Megan 6 years ago. I also want to change my lifestyle in general-eating healthy, drinking more water, exercising more, etc. We have a Total Gym that I enjoy using but I've never gotten into a routine of using it so I'd like to do that-hopefully at least every other day. I want to feel good about myself and right now I just feel like a slug.
My current weight is: 132 My goal weight is: 126

Sarah&Mackenzie replied: Well let's just say I am not happy with what I weighed myself at on Sunday morning. I weigh ten pounds more than I thought so now my goal went from 50 pounds to 60 pounds. I will have to weigh in next Wed. since I won't weigh myself until Sunday morning.

I got on the scale today. Up 2lbs over the holidays, not as bad as I thought it'd be. I am done with kids, so I want to get thin now!
Plus, I am in a wedding in Sept. and need to lose weight for that. I have to say, reading everyone's weight loss posts is a real imspiration.

I have been dieting since Oct. 31. I started at 190 and am currently at 170. That is no change since last week - my first week with no loss. But considering the holidays and knowing I went off my diet for 4 days I am still happy.
My goal weight is 130 but once I get closer it will really depend on how I look/feel. I haven't been thin EVER in my life so I really don't know what a good weight is for my body.
My goals and resolutions for the year are to keep up with my healthy eating and to exercise. I am trying for going to the gym 3 days a week and doing yoga 2 so that I have some variety. I would like to fit in some light weight training to get toned somewhere too but I'm really not sure how to start that.

Oh but those sugar cookies are so dang good... and with everyone we've had over bringing us cakes and cookies and eggnog etc... well, we can't be rude and NOT eat it, now can we?
Anyhoo - back to my goals... Ultimately, I'd like to be back around 125...but that is not realistic for the moment. I'm going to start with getting down to 170. At least my ticker won't seem as discouraging... ha ha
Going to the gym everyday will be a big goal for me. I'm used to getting up around noon, lounging around all day with the baby, and doing nothing but chatting online, playing games, or talking and playing to the little one. There are good bikes and treadmills there, a pool, a hot tub and a sauna. I can use those everyday, and not have to pay a penny.... why don't I?
Somethign I've started doing latelyis instead of sitting down to watch tv with the baby - I dance around, or march in place, or do squats... I took my measurements a while ago - I'll have to stat doing that a little more regularly...even though the weight went up, my jeans feel a little looser.
