1st Birthday Gift Ideas - What do I get my little princess?
msmzrose wrote: This board has helped me so much in the past, I am counting on you again.... My daughter is turning one, and I want to get her something special for her birthday. Something that she can cherish for a lifetime. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance! Michelle
MommyToAshley replied: I thought about giving my daughter a charm bracelet and adding to it each year, but I decided to wait until she was older. But, you could do something along those lines.
MissyKay2005 replied: I like the braclet idea Or a littel locket with your pic in it that she can keep for a long time.
Jamielou replied: I love the bracelet idea i almost did that for laney but i also decided to wait until she is a little older
Jamison'smama replied: We started one for Jamison on her first holiday--actually that is her daddy's gift to her each year. My mother gets her a silver picture frame that is engraved Jamison's first (second etc. ) birthday and we put a picture of that day. Disney makes beautiful musical snow globes that would make a nice collection.
I love the girl stuff--any suggestions for boys???????
moped replied: I have been making Jack a scrapbook all year for his first year of life and I will finish with all his birthday pics.........that is what he got, but it isn't finished yet.
Sunflower04 replied: Wow I love the little girls ideas. Now I just need a girl.
luvbug00 replied: We got Mya a bracelet for her birthday. Just a regular one with figaro links so that it can expand as she does. Another Idea that I saw alot in The jewelry store I worked at ( I'm a jack of all trades) is you buy an add a pearl necklace. It's a string with one pearl . Each year youhave the Jeweler add a new pearl until her wedding day where she sould have a string.( fill in the rest with special occations) Just a thought.
Alice replied: How about "The Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss w/ an inscription (dated) detailing your wishes for her as she grows?
mckayleesmom replied: AWWWW....all I got Mckaylee was a swing.......and she hates it. We still owe her a puppy for her second birthday
msmzrose replied: Wow these are some really great ideas! Thank you so much. How hard is it to make a scrapbook. What did you did you put in it besides pictures?
Thanks a bunch! Michelle
moped replied: Some dollar stores have all the fancy paper and stickers and there are scrapbook stores but I find they are expensive.........I am not very creative but I still like what I have done. You can also get a computer program.................My husband mom gave him a photo album way back of their lives travelling and growing up and we LOVE it - so I did that but in a scrapbook. I also kept all the hospital stuff and first birthday cards....................I can only do it for the frist year though because I have a room FULL of pictures and stuff
msmzrose replied: What fantastic ideas! I have a baby book but this is so much better. I think I will give it a try. DO you know of the compute rprograms. Is it online or software you purchase.
I am also thinking of getting a journal and having everyone in the family at her 1st birthday party write her a message of hopes and dreams for the future. And putting it away until she is older. What do you think?
Thanks again! Michelle
