Teesa®© replied: I've never heard of swiss chard.

I love sardines and eat those and pumpkin pie filling out of their cans. Not sure if the pie filling counts rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

Out of the 11 things, we do 7. My children like blueberries in their yogourt, but I like mine plain or raspberry.

We love Pomegranate's, but since they lower blood pressure, I won't be eating them much anymore. Mine's low enough.

Thanks for sharing this!! thumb.gif

stella6979 replied: I've never heard of swiss chard either. We eat lots of blueberries and I LOVE cabbage!!!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: My mom grew some chard in our garden when I was a kid, and it was gross. Even she didn't like it. blink.gif tongue.gif

Boo&BugsMom replied: Aiden LOVES frozen blueberries! biggrin.gif So does Tanner. Aiden wont eat them any other way for some reason, aside from frozen. I usually get fresh ones and freeze them myself.

There are a few others that we eat on there as well. Wont touch prunes though, although the kids like them.

luvmykids replied: Woo hoo, we eat most of those. I use beets in the juicer, you can easily mask their taste with other fruits. Turmeric and swiss chard are the two I haven't had. I always see swiss chard at the farmers market but don't know what to do with it.

A&A'smommy replied: YUCK on the sardines I refuse to eat them BLECH but everything else I eat except I have never heard of swiss chard or tumeric

Thanks for the article thumb.gif

Cece00 replied: I eat all but one- the sardines!

kit_kats_mom replied: I'm not a picky eater but sardines and beets are on my no-eat list along with peas and cooked carrots. Otherwise, I'll at least try anything.

I like to saute' chard with a little butter and a slice of crumbled bacon

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I love pomegranate, in fruit form and juice form. I can't even count how much of the actual fruit I ate during the season. The girls really like them too. I don't think I've had swiss chard, but I will look for it and try it. Thanks for the list. thumb.gif

redchief replied: Hmmm... I'm missing some of those too. I've never had swiss chard. The others, with the exception of beets and blueberries, I like, but don't eat normally. Who says pumpkin's just for pies at Thanksgiving?

Blueberries are one of my favorites, NJ being the blueberry capital of the states (yes folks we really do have farms in NJ emlaugh.gif ).

Beets taste like dirt. I can't stand them. sad.gif

grapfruit replied: Here is a Swiss Chard Receipe

Well I eat Cinnamon! smile.gif

jcc64 replied: I can't believe how alien swiss chard is to everyone! If you like spinach, you'll like swiss chard. It's got a very rich, buttery taste and it's unbelievably healthy. The worst thing about it is how much room it takes up in the fridge before you cook it. It's a little unwieldy, and takes a little time to prepare, but the payoff is big. Try it guys!

MommyToAshley replied:
I had never heard of it either. Both Ashley and I like spinach so maybe we will look for it. How do you cook yours?

We roast pumpkin seeds when we clean out the pumpkins, so we do get those one time a year. laugh.gif We eat cinnamon, cabbage, and blueberries -- not together though. Ashley drinks prune juice, does that count the same a eating prunes?

jcc64 replied: I usually separate the stalks from the leaves, b/c the stalks take longer to cook. I chope the stalks into pretty small pieces, maybe 1/2" or so, and steam them for 5 mins. or so before adding the leaves, also chopped up into small pieces. I cook until pretty tender- which is how I like my veggies, though I know that costs me some nutrients. In another pan, I then saute a clove or two of garlic in some olive oil until golden and add the swiss chard with a few tablesp of the water in which it was steamed. I add a little sugar to cut bitterness (if there is any), and salt and pepper to taste. That's pretty much it. My granny used to add butter in the serving bowl, but I don't think it's necessary.
And my kids, who are not big veggie eaters, actually like it too.

kimberley replied: wavey.gif i like swiss chard too! tongue.gif and turmeric is what's in curry powder so if you eat curry, you're good smile.gif

i just don't like beets puke.gif

mysweetpeasWil&Wes replied: Beets are actually one my favorite foods!! I steam or boil them until just tender, not too soft. Then drizzle olive oil on them with a little salt. Eat them plain or toss in a salad. Eating them in a salad tonight as a matter of fact. Fresh blueberries are a staple in our house. Swiss chard, although I've definitely heard of it, and I eye it at the store, I've never actually cooked it myself. I love spinach, so I will try it now. Tumeric, not my favorite but I have some. Cabbage, put it in fish tacos and salads, although too gassy for me. Pumpkin....YES, definitely not for just Thanksgiving!! And you wouldn't believe it, but I was shopping for raw canned pumpkin at the store yesterday to make my pumpkin soup and could only find the sweetened pie filling (not the same BTW). So I didn't make the soup, but it is a year round food item for me. Pom juice is the best, but I also like Acjai which is just as good for you!!!
