MommyToAshley wrote: This is from BabyTalk Magazine -- no peeking!
Let's see if we can list the THE TEN MOST FAMOUS BABIES OF ALL TIME
Since I know the answers, I'll just let you know when you get one right.
EDIT: List of correct answers thus far: 1. Gerber Baby 2. The Dancing Baby 3. Jesus Christ 4. John-John (JFK, JR) 5. Cabbage Patch Kids 6. Louise Brown (First test tube baby) 7. Dionne Quintuplets 1934 & McCaughley Septuplets 1997 8. Little Ricky 9. Kunta Kinte 10. Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau
Wooohooo! We have some smart ladies here!
momofajcl replied: Gerber baby must be one. Coppertone kid?
MommyToAshley replied: Gerber Baby is one! The original Gerber Baby is Anne Turner Cook, 1928!
Way to Go!
momofajcl replied: Oh holy cow! I can't think of any more! I know I'm going to wake up at 2 AM with an answer!
ashade75 replied: The only thing I can think of is the "DANCING BABY" from Ally McBeal. Is that one? Or do they have to be real babies?
MommyToAshley replied: Gessh you guys are good!
The dancing baby introduced on the Alley McBeal show in 1998!
supermom replied: Hmmmm.....the one that comes to mind is the Lindburgh baby - sadly -
MommyToAshley replied: Not one, but I think it should be one. I think the Lindberg baby is more famous than some of the ones they have listed. But, I didn't get to vote on the list.
ashade75 replied: What about Baby Jesus?
MommyToAshley replied: Yup, got another one!
MommyToAshley replied: I was surprised and thrilled that she was found alive too!!! What a great story. Although she should be, she is not listed as one of the 10 most famous babies.
Kaitlin'smom replied: humm I can think of 2 that might apply
1-Cabbage Patch Kids
or how about
John-John JFK Jr?
MommyToAshley replied: Right on both accounts!
supermom replied: Well, if I could remember her name, I would post it, but she was the first test tube baby. I *think* her first name was Elizabeth, but I am not sure - someone help me out here??
Would that maybe be one?
MommyToAshley replied: Yup, first test tube baby is on the list. Luise Brown, 1978! I never would have remembered that one! WTG!
The last 4 are hard... let me know if you want hints.
momofajcl replied: I'm all for hints
MommyToAshley replied: OK, here's a hint for baby #7
Hint #1: You'll have a "Ball" with this one.
momofajcl replied: LOL! OK...Hey Lucy? Lucille Ball? Dezi? LOL! It's probably some baseball person isn't it???
MommyToAshley replied: If we were playing hot potatoe, you would be very "hot". You are sooo close to the answer.
I have to go get dinner before it burns, but I will check back after dinner to see if you got the right answer.
supermom replied: OK, then, I think I know but I'll give Heather a chance since she's so close.......
How about another hint for us PIS people - giggle - see, I can claim that one for a while!
MommyToAshley replied: Ok, here's a hint for #8 -- this hint is not so obvious
hint#1 Has something in common with the name of a convenience store.
Guest replied: lmao... The first thing that comes to mind is Apu and Manjula Nahasapeemapetilon [The Simpson's] and their octuplets, Poonam, Sashi, Pria, Uma, Anoop, Sandeep, Nabendu and Gheet.
I'm not even close, am I?? lol
TLCDad replied: Actually no-one could of, I can't even force a log out; just can remove the account all together.
If you choose not to "remember me?" when you log in, after 15 minutes of inactivity, like while reading a long message thread, it can automaticly log you out. So just make sure you remember me is set when logging in. Also do not delete cookies. Thats the only way the board can remember who you are.
Other than the above, I do not understand how it could of logged you out... let me know and if it happens again and I will try to figure out why.
MommyToAshley replied: Teesa, not even close, but funny
supermom replied: Dear Teesa: I hope you take this in the spirit it's intended -
Now you all can file that away with your other bits of useless informatio - roflmbo -
MommyToAshley replied: Ok, here's a hint for #8 -- this hint is not so obvious
hint#1 Has something in common with the name of a convenience store. hint#2 There is a clue in the last word of the title of this game
MommyToAshley replied: Actually Teesa, now that I think about it, you were a little "warm" with that answer.
But, still funny.
MommyToAshley replied: Dionne Quints it is.
They also listed McCaughey Septuplets. (Thus, the hint about the convenience store 7-11)
momofajcl replied: LOL! So are we still guessing #7? LOL! HELP! I'm stuck on #7! Can't move forward until I get it! LOL! Um...if I was hot maybe it was Lucy and Dezi's baby? I can't remember her (was it a her?) name! Now I'm 2nd guessing MYSELF! ARGH!
MommyToAshley replied: It was their baby on the show, "Little Ricky" Which contrary to what most people believe, was never played by their son Desi Arnez, Jr.
Kaitlin'smom replied: is kunter kinta(sp) one of them?
MommyToAshley replied: You got it -- I never would have guessed this one. You guys are good.
Kaitlin'smom replied: I have no clue for the 10th how about some hints?
MommyToAshley replied: Ok, here's the hint: He's a brave baby
Kaitlin'smom replied: still no clue, anyone else got an idea?
supermom replied: Yeah, child labor laws as far as that was concerned were (still are) pretty strict - so were other things, because if I remember right, they either couldn't show Lucy's pregnant shape, or had to fight really hard to get to do so.......
And as for the tenth guess, I haven't got a clue........what about the little girl who got stuck down the well - baby Jessica, wasn't that her name (I am TERRIBLE with names, can't you tell?)
No, that wouldn't be it, you said it's a he........unless that was a typo?
MommyToAshley replied: Next clue:
Hint 1: He's a brave baby Hint 2: He'll always be remembered as the first real tester of a baby backpack.
momofajcl replied: MIkey from the Life Cereal commercials??? Although he wasn't really a baby then was he??? LOL!
MommyToAshley replied: I grew up with Mikey!!! Showing my age now. But, it's not one either.
I gotta look at the mag to get another hint, jsut a sec, be right back.
Kaitlin'smom replied: still clueless..................
MommyToAshley replied: This is a hard one. But, here's another hint:
Hint 1: He's a brave baby Hint 2: He'll always be remembered as the first real tester of a baby backpack. Hint 3: Born in the middle of Lewis and Clarks pioneering journey to America.
Side Note: Who the heck picked these babies as the most famous?
momofajcl replied: Oh heck...I don't know
momofajcl replied: Was he a Native American baby?
Kaitlin'smom replied: Okay I looked it up, but I wont tell who it is, I did know know this baby. Never heard of him.
dunno, but I only agree with some of them
MommyToAshley replied: Yes, native American baby. Never heard of him either, but then again, I hated History in school.
Another hint. Born in 1805.
Guest replied: OK I Looked it up!! I have never heard of him. So much for being famous! I heard of his mom.
MommyToAshley replied: OK, since noone has heard of him and everyone is looking it up, I will just give the answer:
Jean-Baptiste Charbonneau
Son to Sacagawea and Toussaint Charbonneau
Kaitlin'smom replied: ya see I know the mom but not baby.......
supermom replied: Apparantly not anyone who has a clue - laugh - I even showed my oldest (almost 18) son, who is a history buff, all the clues and he was also clueless.
But I guess he was famous enough to get on the $1 coin with his mamma, right?
That was a fun game, tho - find another one, I don't wanna work!
