"No" - It's starting already

Kirstenmumof3 replied: Wow Claudia hasn't even figured that one out yet! What a smart little girl you have!
MomToMany replied: Hmmm...I have the opposite problem (well, not really a "problem") with Hannah. If you ask her anything, she says "Yeah!"; unless you ask her if she has poopy pants. Then it's "Huh-uh"; I guess I'm lucky that she doesn't say "No" yet!
Sorry you are going through this already. Try not to make it a "yes or no" question with her; that way she won't say it as much. Try giving her a choice between 2 things instead of asking if she wants something spcifically. It might help.
I hope it doesn't last too long!
Heather replied: YEH! We have NO here too!! Alison knows how to use it and uses it all too well!! LOL...I think I have entered the terrible 2's a little early. Poor me...but maybe that is good, maybe it will be over soon HE Wishful thinking?
coasterqueen replied: OMGosh Amy, lol, Kylie has been saying NO for a good month now, lol. Something I am not proud to admit.
She will shake her head and say no. It cracks me up, but I try not to laugh in front of her. But most of the time when she says no its because she is telling me she knows that it's bad. KWIM? Like if she is getting ready to touch a houseplant and I look at her and get ready to say no. She'll look at me and shake her head and say no because she's telling me she knows it's bad. So most of the time she does it to tell me she knows
When she says NO, I say YES, but then she turns around and says YES. LOL. Now the next time I tell her NO, she'll probably start saying YES.
It's a neverending battle! LOL. I AM NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO THE TERRIBLE TWOS!
Maddie&EthansMom replied: Maddie still tells me and her daddy "no"! She gets time out for it. (but she is 3) She started saying it fairly young, too. The little stinker picked it up from me b/c she was always into everything. LOL!
~CrazieMama~ replied: Brianna says "no" as well. It is sooooo funny how she says it. Although she just recently started saying it. I think she was waiting till she perfected it before she said it.
A&A'smommy replied: LOL my neice and nephew did that, my SIL said it was because they didnt really understand the meaning of no. What she use to do is if she asked them something and they said no and we/she knew that they really did want it is say "you mean yes" or whatever was easier for them to understand. She also did something else but i cant remember what it was...i should because i kept them EVERY morning for about 6months and they were going through that stage then. It was pretty funny but i got aggravating after a while...anyways sorry i rambled on Good Luck!
MommyToAshley replied: I have it bad both ways...
If I say "No", then Ashley shakes her head up and down and says "ya ya ya"
If I ask her to do something that she doesn't want to do or if she wants something (and she doesn't), then she will shake her head no and say "no no no". Sometimes she will swing her hand back and forth with her head if she really means no. LOL
I think the little bugger just likes to disagree with me.
MomofTay&Sam replied: Oh yeah we have NO, he says no and he has been shaking his head noooo for months now! I guess because he hears No so much? LOL
MommyToAshley replied: I think you are right, the terrible two's are here early.
Ashley doesn't need to say "no" to argue with me. Last night she was trying to drink her bath water out of her toy and I shook my head no and said "yucky" and made a yucky face. Well, she shook her head up and down and said "yum!" It took everything I had to keep from laughing. Well, this morning I went to give her a cup of milk, and I said "yum, drink your milk". She made a yucky face, shook her head no, and said "yucky!" Utttt-ohhh, what did I teach her?
