The proud parents are Donna and Wally.
Post all questions here!!!!
Mommieto2Girls replied: I won't be on till late tomorrow, so here are some of my questions....
Is Zachary bf or ff?
What does his room look like?
Does he use a binky?
What are his stats now and then?
Can you post any favorite pictures of him?
~CrazieMama~ replied: What colors look best on him?
Does he have a routine?
Is there a type of music that soothes him?
dolfinrse replied:
Zachary is FF, right now he is on Carnation Good Start
He used to use the binky to calm himself down, but now is starting to refuse it.
He was born 7 lbs, 1 oz, and 21 inches long As of the beginning of July, he was 14 lbs even and 25 inches long
dolfinrse replied:
The best color on him is definitely blue.
Zachary has absolutely no routine, every day is different at our house.
As funny as this sounds, his favorite music is Metallica and Motley Crue DH and I listened to them when I was pregnant and he would start kicking. Now if he starts crying, we put that on, not real loud of course, but he stops crying.
dolfinrse replied: Here are some of our favorite pics.
dolfinrse replied: Zachary loves sleeping in our bed. He can't stay there for very long though because we have a waterbed. We never leave him alone in it.
dolfinrse replied: Here is Zachary as our little farmer boy.
dolfinrse replied: Any questions that are posted on Friday during the day, I will not be able to answer until I get home from work , which will be late afternoon.
amynicole21 replied: Does Zachary have any pets?
Does he smile and laugh a lot yet?
Does he ride well in the car? In a stroller?
Has he been on a vacation yet? A plane? Boat?
Kirstenmumof3 replied: Who is his favourate person?
Does he have a blankie or favourate toy?
¤Heather¤ replied: How is his room decorated?
Does he like car rides??
ediep replied: What brand of bottles does Zachary use? How long does he sleep a night? Does he still wake up for a feeding? Does he watch TV?
Jamie replied: whats his fav. thing/activity to do?
jcc64 replied: Hi Donna, I know this is a fun, get to know you kind of forum, so I feel kind of bad bringing this up here, but in the past I've learned lots of invaluable things from other moms on this board, so here goes. I read your post about your little guy sleeping on your waterbed. Last year, a 4 month old baby boy suffocated on his parents waterbed in the town in which I live. His parents were taking a nap with him in the bed, and apparently, he somehow with the motion of the mattress wound up wedged between the frame and the mattress. I really don't mean to be an alarmist, I'm sure you're very careful with your baby, but maybe now that he's young and not yet opinionated, you could teach him to sleep somewhere else? Keep in mind that I also co-sleep with my baby, and have no judgements about that, but I believe the AAP strongly advises against babies and waterbeds. Please don't be offended. I think the great thing about these boards is sometimes you get a perspective you hadn't previously considered.
mckayleesmom replied: I don't have a waterbed, but I didn't know they were dangerous for kids either so you taught me something. .
ok, what is the one thing that Zachery does that completely melts you heart?
dolfinrse replied:
We don't let him sleep in the bed with us. Occasionally in the am on the weekends, dh will lay him on the pillow next to me, but we do not go back to sleep or leave him unattended in any way while he is on the waterbed.
dolfinrse replied:
Zachary has no pets as of yet, we are going to wait until he is walking.
He laughs all the time and smiles at everything.
Sometimes he is okay in the car, sometimes not. Depends on his mood.
In the stroller he is usually okay, but if we go to the mall, he hates it for some reason. He starts screaming bloody murder and we end up leaving.
No vacation as of yet. Next year we plan on flying out to see my bil in CA.
dolfinrse replied:
His favorite person would have to be dh. He laughs and giggles at him constantly. He is always looking for daddy, even when he is eating.
His favorite toy is a blue bear with a rattle inside.
dolfinrse replied:
We did a theme from babies r us. It is teddy bears with all sorts of sports. Oen holding a baseball bat, one a football, one kicking a soccer ball, and there is another that I cannot think of right now. If I can I will post a pic later.
dolfinrse replied:
Zachary likes the Playtex bottles with the disposable liners, that way he hardly gets any air in the bottle. He usually sleeps about 4 or 5 hours long and then wakes up hungry. Only twice has he slept completely through the night. He loves watching tv. His favorite show is Everybody Loves Raymond.
dolfinrse replied:
Right now we are kind of limited as to what he does, but we have a "Pop & Drop Gym" that we put on the floor. He loves playing with that, pulling on all the toys that hang down.
dolfinrse replied:
It would have to be, when he gives me the biggest smile as soon as I walk in the room.
Mommieto2Girls replied: Is Zachary a vocal baby or is he pretty quiet?
Is Zachary named after anyone in particular in the family?
Have you done professional photos of him yet? if so can you post them?
What kind of diapers and wipes do you use?
What baby products do you use? as in bathing, shampoo, lotion, powder......
MommyToAshley replied: Thanks for sharing the pictures, he is a REAL CUTIE!
Does he like his bath?
Does he like "tummy time"? (Ashley hated it)
Who do you think he looks like?
dolfinrse replied:
He is usually pretty quiet, until he gets hungry and then he is pretty vocal and he lets you know that he is hungry. He has been trying to talk more now in the past few weeks.
Zachary is not named after anyone.
No professional pics yet, we were waiting another few weeks.
We use Pamper Swaddler Diapers #2 and Pampers Wipes with Aloe. We tried Huggies diapers, but they always gave him a rash.
We use J & J Bedtime Bath and Bedtime Lotion. It smells really good. After each bath, I give him a massage on his feet, legs, arms, back, and chest. He loves it.
dolfinrse replied:
He loves getting a bath, he hates when we pick him up out of the water. He has just started trying to splash the water.
When he is awake, he hates it, but he loves sleeping on his stomach. Before anyone "yells" at us about sleeping on his stomach, he will not sleep any other way at night. We get up and check him all night long, but he will not sleep on his back. As soon as you put him down, he wakes up. For some reason on his stomach he sleeps more sound.
Without a doubt, he looks like Wally. In the hospital Wally was joking saying that he needed a paternity test, the nurse looked at him and said "What, are you crazy? He looks exactly like you." And that he does.
MommyToAshley replied: I would recommend one of the Angel Care monitors. Ashley did not sleep on her tummy, but I was so scared of SIDS that I could not sleep at all the first few weeks. So, DH went out and bought an Angel Care monitor that detects any motion including breathing. If your baby stops breathing for more than 20 seconds, an alarm goes off. I couldn't sleep without it. It is a little pricey though, aroudn $90. But, soooo worth every penny. If you are concerned, I would recommend this monitor.
Now, back to the questions:
What do you think has changed most about him since birth?
What did he first smile at?
dolfinrse replied:
We can't believe how much he has grown and actually looks like a baby. When he was born he was so tiny, now people think he is at least 6 mo. He is such a big boy.
The first thing he smiled at was daddy. DH was talking to him and all of a sudden this big smile came across his face. He laughed at me first though. I don't know what that says about me. LOL. Zachary and I were laying on the couch and I was talking to him and I looked at dh to say something and all of a sudden Zachary made this weird sound. I looked at him and he was laughing.
