What was your birth experience like?
What makes her smile the biggest?
What is your favorite thing to do with her?

kimberley replied: ITA! she is adorable! wub.gif

did you think her name fit her when you first saw her?
what was her first word and when did she say it?
how would you describe her in 3 words?
does she have any boy friends?
what amazes you the most about her?

amynicole21 replied: How does she do in the tub?
Do you have a bedtime ritual?
Is there a food that she would eat exclusively if you let her?
Does she prefer girlier toys or is she more rough and tumble?

And yes, I agree that she is incredibly cute wub.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Thanks guys! I think she's pretty cute too. tongue.gif

For the most part, the birth experience was great. I made it through without any drugs but they did have to use the vaccum because her heart rate was acting up. My goal was to walk around during labor but we had to have internal moniters so that did not happen. I had Katherine on Labor day so my ob was out too and some Dr. I'd never seen before did the delivery...I did not like him much. dry.gif I did gain a whole new respect for my body though. Almost exactly 12 hours of labor with no drugs? Go me! LOL

Biggest smile? Hmmmm, right now it's when we make the burping sound while she's patting her dolls back. It just cracks her up. Potty humor...always good thumb.gif

Right now, I love to put on music and dance with her. She is so spastic and funny when a song comes on that she likes. I also just love chasing her around and tickeling her when I catch her. for a more relaxing time, I just love to rock and nurse her to sleep everynight.

kit_kats_mom replied:
Yup, I think Katherine fits her perfectly. It's a serious name with some fun nicknames. She's a serious little girl with a bit of silly on the side. rolleyes.gif

Her first real word was num-num which means she wants to nurse. I really cant' remember when she first said it. Bad mommy! She did say "boo" back to me when she was 3 mos old but no one believes me. I'm sure it was an accident. wink.gif

Energetic, serious, independent.

Not really. There is only one little boy at the sitters and he's a bit older than she is. I think he's already been spoken for by the other little girl. rolling_smile.gif

There are 3 things that I find amazing about her. 1. the way she can block out everything and focus so well on a task until she gets it right. 2. How much energy she has. 3. how she has made me become so totally immersed in being a mommy. I never liked babys, never babysat, just didnt' know how to act around them. Would have never even considered quitting my job etc. Now I can't imagine not being a mommy.

kit_kats_mom replied:
She loves bathtime. We have the bath crayons and fingerpaints but the cups are still a favorite. We also do "duck bombs" where she hold rubber ducky over her head and throws him into the bath while screaming ""DUCK BOMB!!" really loudly. This results in a big exciting splash. Tons of fun! rolling_smile.gif

We have a very long bedtime ritual. After dinner we read a story, then it's bathtime (with daddy usually), then she runs around naked for awhile and plays music and dances, then it's diaper, pj's, rock and nurse to her favorite sleepytime cd while holding a sippy with water and her pink bear. Then DH comes in and she lays on him in the bed until she's asleep. We may have to shorten this one day. blink.gif

Not really. She is still a pretty bad eater but chocolate pudding or peanut butter are probably two of her favorites.

Well, she loves running, playing on slides and throwing balls but her dolls and dress up clothes are pretty popular too. I'm thinking she will be a girly girl.

MomToJade&Jordan replied: I will have to agree K is a doll. wub.gif

Does she like to shop?

What is her favorite kind of music?

What is her favorite story?

What are some of her funny quirks?

jdkjd replied: Is she still feeding her Elmo?
Does she like to sneeze or cough?
How is she with your kitty?
What's her most recently acquired skill?

kit_kats_mom replied:
Thanks Carrie-Ann. We all have beautiful babies...not an ugly one in the bunch. LOL

Katherine likes to run in stores. All that open space and stuff to grab! She is getting better though and recently has begun to let me to put her in the shopping cart. Makes shopping quite a bit easier rolleyes.gif If you meant does she like new clothes the answer is I dont' really know. We are the benefactors of a wealthy friend who's little girl is 2 and a half. I've probably only bought maybe 10 outfits for Katherine. We literaly have bags and bags of clothes from our friend, and they are all really nice boutiquey things.

She mainly listens to kids music. We have a ton of cd's and tapes. She loves it when I sing silly songs to her too. The two songs that are guaranteed to calm her down and bring a broad grin to her face are the mail time song from Blues Clues and the intro to Elmos World. Although she was getting her groove on to "Tootsie Roll" at the parade today. dry.gif rolling_smile.gif

She loves to read almost anything, including daddy's tech magazines. She knows Goodnight Moon by heart though. We hit the library every other week and she always finds a favorite book out of that weeks picks. This week it is "Grow". It is a book about what certian things grow up to be and it has a mirror in the back.

Funny quirks? My little sweetie? Surely you jest. LOL
Where should I start? With the fact that she runs to her PC first thing everymorning to see if Elmo is still there? Her insistance on using the mouse backwards. Her singing in the car? But just the last word of every line in a song. when we hear bingo she apparently only hears la, la, la,la O. Cleaning her hands and high chair tray like there is no tomorrow? Sitting down and dancing...that's daddy's favorite. She just can't stop the music in her pants. rolling_smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
Nope, she has graduated to feeding her two babies. Elmo now lives in our car so that he can be pushed around in the stroller when we go grocery shopping. tongue.gif

She used to fake sneeze and cough. She's stopped now though. However she loves to fake burp now...such a daintly little thing she is. laugh.gif

She is great with the cat. She hugs and kisses the cat all the time. Recently though, she says "NO DAT" when the cat is just laying there. Poor cat. Our cat still does not suffer the abuse that yours do. rolling_smile.gif

Pushing the furniture around and climbing on it would be my least favorite skill to date. She climbs the shelves to get to the art supplies and we caught her in my chair at the dining room table using the laptop the other day. Little turkey. mad.gif Singing songs is one of my favorite skills and talking more and more is pretty neat too. She must come up with at least two new words a day. wub.gif She is learning how to push her pants down and whenever she has a dirty diaper she will say "ssstinnnky be-be" rolling_smile.gif That just cracks me up

kit_kats_dad replied: Thanks for all of the nice comments everyone. Sorry I haven't been on in a few months - I read on a PC all day, and when I get home, I only read what I have to on a PC.

I was enlightened a few days ago with the reality of the development of a child's brain. Unknowningly, I assumed that I would know everything she knew, and thus would be able to stimulate her brain appropriately. That was a silly assumption eh?

Last week K surprised me with several words and concepts I hadn't never seen her demonstrate. Then again yesterday I watched her push every letter on the keyboard as I requested them. I am continually amazed at their rapid rate of development. Their speedy development makes me feel stagnant!

Anyhow, that's the most recent 'epiphany' I've been through with parenting.

Any questions you have for me, I'll answer as best as I can.

kit_kats_mom replied: If you have any questions that you want DH to answer, he said he will check back tomorrow for posts and reply. lol tongue.gif

Lily replied: Aww, she's so cute! I don't have any questions for ya but wanted to tell you that. biggrin.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Thanks for the comments and questions. biggrin.gif DH and I had fun answering them & I'm going to print them out for her baby book. wub.gif

MommyToAshley replied: Sorry I am a little late to the party, but I wanted to make sure I got a few questions in while K is still in the spotlight.

What nicknames do you have for her?
Are there any words that she mispronounces that you think is cute?
Who is her favorite person other than Mommy and Daddy?
How do you get her to keep sunglasses on? (heehee)

kit_kats_mom replied:
I call her lots of things...mostly; kitten, bunny, trouble, monkey, boo, stinky and K.

Any long words are pretty funny. Macaroni, dinosaur and vegetable are some of my favorites. rolling_smile.gif

She loves her Grandma and Poppy, my parents. She sees them at least once a week.

I don't have any tips on the sunglasses...sorry. LOL She's been wearing them for months and requests them now. At first she wouldn't wear them but then I kept a few pairs in the living room and she would pick them up and play with them. Now she's perfected pushing them up on her forehead which is pretty funny. wub.gif
