How is she feeling today? What kinds of foods is she eating now? Does she have a favorite? Has she ever been swimming? What does her room look like?
Emmy'sMom replied: HI! Thanks!
She is feeling MUCH better today. I decided to wait until today to talk to the doctor about giving her the cough supressant. (waiting on a call back)
Favorite food: tie between watermelon and cheese puffs
We are just now starting to give her some table foods
Her room is beautiful: lavender with stenciled butterflies around the top as a border..... i'll have to look for a picture!
We have been to a swin class at the YMCA and she LOVED it!!
Here is a collage I did a few months ago ---
Thanks for the nice comments!

coasterqueen replied: Does she have any cousins? Does she like her grandma (MIL), lol? Favorite color to dress her in?
Emmy'sMom replied: She doesn't have any cousins ---well, second and third cousins yes, but she is the first grandchild/great grandchild
She looks best in pink ---but I tend to dress her in purple alot too! (my favorite color)
MIL? Don't get me started. I try. I really do. She just tries to control everything and won't get it through her head that this is MY family and she is the grandma.....not the MOM. YOu know?
I try really hard not to let my issues with MIL interfere with Emmy getting to know her grandma. YOu know? We both have net cams and we do video conferencing at least once a day so that Grandma can see her. I send pictures all the time via e-mail....and I really try to keep contact with them for Emmy's sake.
My IL's smoke like chimneys and that will be the only thing that will stop Emmy from having the "typical" relationship with them like I had with my Grandparents...ie:going for summer stays or time alone with them. It is something we (DH and I ) are just not going to budge on. She had open heart surgery when she was 7 weeks old and DH grew up in the house filled with second hand smoke ---and has many breathing problems today. We have discussed the smoking issue but I don't think they realize that she is not going to stay over at thier house. When they realize that we are THAT serious --maybe they will quit.
SEEEE...YOU GOT ME STARTED ON IL'S!
I love the questions!

MommyToAshley replied: What's the last thing she did that made you laugh? Is she ticklish? Who do you think she looks like?
momof2girls replied: She is soo adorable!
Emmy'sMom replied: Last thing she did to make me laugh --? Stick her tongue out at the dog
She looks JUST LIKE her daddy ---Everyone says so...although she has my eyes

A&A'smommy replied: What was her birth like? Does she sleep all night? What makes her laugh the most?
She is really cute!
Emmy'sMom replied: What makes her laugh the most? -- Probably when Daddy makes funny faces at her!
What was her birth like? Oh my goodness....I was a week overdue and they had to induce me. I really wanted to have her vaginally so we tried all the drugs to get her to come out.....36 hours of labor and finally after the 2nd epidural I screamed "get her out...I can't take this anymore" --and they did a c-section! We found out that day that she had a defect in her heart and also she has something called a "sacral dimple" on her back --near her butt crack ---so, the first week was actually mixed joy and sorrow..... she had a bunch of tests and they determined the dimple was not "attached" to her spinal cord and was completely cosmetic....but the heart defect needed surgery.
When she was 6 months old we had her sleeping totally through the night --but since she got her first tooth she just won't sleep through the night anymore. I really don't want to CIO but it is getting kind of bad. You know?
Here are a few more pictures:

this one was in March at Disney World--
I love sharing pictures!

What is her room like?
What has surprised you most about her?
What one trait do you want her to get from her Daddy? From you?
What are her stats -- height, weight?
Emmy'sMom replied: What surprised me most? hmmmmm..... I don't know. I guess, just that she has really grown and is very healthy --considering what she went through when she was born.
One trait from Daddy? ---his book smarts! My husband is so smart! From me? Street smarts...no one can ever say I am naive! I hope that Emmy will get a bit of both ---that way she will go far in life
Oh gosh --height and weight..well, she is 8 months old. I don't know her exact stats today --we go back to the doctor next month. At 6 months she was 23.5inches long/tall and weighed 16.4lbs.....I couldn't even guess what she weighs or how tall she is today
Here are some pictures of her room that I took before she was born:

I have a few more but I can't seem to find them......

kimberley replied: she is sooooo cute and her room is adorable!! good job!!
are you in any mommy and baby groups? how does she react to other babies? what is your favorite thing to do with her? does she like bathtime? what amazes you the most about her?
Emmy'sMom replied: Thanks for the compliments on her room --- I stenciled each of the butterflies...when I was 8 months pregnant~
Sometimes I catch her laying in her crib staring up at them....it is so cute!
Daddy does bath time...it is his "thing" --they have lots of fun!! He loves making a big mess with the water and letting Emmy splash him!
I am considering joining the local MOMS group here..but I just haven't gotten off my tush to call the lady.
She has been around other babies --one of my husbands co-workers has a baby a month younger than Emmy --and she loves other babies!
I'll tell you what amazes me --- she is like a sponge. She loves, loves, loves to be out and in the world. We went to the mall yesterday and she just sat in her stroller looking all around at everything! It is so neat to see her taking it all in. She also loves attention from anyone...mostly men though She will go to pretty much any man that looks like Daddy but doesn't let many women pick her up
I'd have to say my favorite thing to do these days is read to her --she loves books!
