what words does your little one say - how many words, mini sentences & how old

sunrosejenn wrote: what words is your little one saying now? how many words, mini sentences & how old?

Eliana says momma occassionally maybe twice a week and that's it besides alot of babbling noises.

My3LilMonkeys replied: Madison is 7 months old. She has just started to babble 'dadadada' or 'mamamama' but of course it doesn't mean anything yet. thumb.gif

CAMSMOM1 replied: Cameron's first words were: Dada, Dog, Mama, Kitty, ba-ba (bottle). He started saying Dada, dog and Mama around 9 months old. And around his 1st birthday he said a few new words...like Ba-Ba, Kitty.
Now he is 20 months old, and says over 25 words. ( I actually had to count them all out in my head right now!) His newest words are "Pizza, UP, Please, Thank You, I DOVE DO (I love you), sit, stuck....everything's "stuck".
It's exciting! This past month he has learned 10 new words! No real sentences yet, just a couple like "go bye-bye" "more please".
With all the new words, he still does a lot of baby talk and gibberish. Either way, the kid won't stop talking! He's a chatter box! blahblah.gif blahblah.gif blahblah.gif

3_call_me_mama replied: Kathleen is almost 16 months adn she says a TON of words. If i had to count I'd say about 50-75. She has been saying more than Mama and Dada since abotu 10 months. At 1 year she had about 20 words. She can reapeat almost anythign you say and sometimes put 2-3 words otgether. Usually it's Up please or more milk. eat now that kind of stuff. . See ball, doggie woof. eat pizza, Doda On(dora on) HUGS and Luv ewe!
She also does the sounds for cat, dog, pig, cow, sheep, duck, monkey and a couple others. She can also say the colors yellow, blue purple and pink and green by when we point to them. Red she just doesn't get and orange sounds nNOTHING liek orange. smile.gif Cameron was an early talker too and language wise he was WAY off the charts at 15 months (said far more than she does adn more sentence liek things) He favorite things to say are BABY and WOW also ME . She calls her grandparents by names Meme Grandpa, Nana and papa, cameron she calls him somethign that vaguely resembles his name. SHe also says several others names that we have daily contact with . She can sing most of the abc's (she sings along wth cameron and also she sings the muffin man and blues clues adn theh theme to Jack's big music show (just certain parts of each one)
Despite all teh talkign she does, she still babbles a lot and says severa "words " that are totally unintelligible to us!!

C&K*s Mommie replied: I could not say all the things that Kellie is saying now, but she says alot (IMO) for a 21mo old. But she has an older sister who is 3, so she is able to pick up on alot more than if she did not have an older sister.

CantWait replied: Anthony is 2 and a half, and he doesn't shut up rolling_smile.gif He can repeat EVERYTHING (trust me I know) that you say, and quite clearly.

MyBlueEyedBabies replied: Matt was a late talker in that at about 18 months he said Mama, Daddy, and Ball. Now at 23 months we can't get him to be quiet and his vocabulary is probably close to 200 words and he speaks in full sentences.

MamaMooBoo replied: My Reis will be three in February and he is pretty speech delayed. He's been in speech therapy for two years and we are just now getting sentences out of him. He's smart, just doesn't want to talk! His favorite right now is to constantly say "Go Diego Go!"

luvmykids replied: We were concerned about our youngest because at 15 mos. she wasn't even trying to talk. But all of the sudden she caught on and now knows more words than I can count and speaks full, grown up sentences in correct word order and everything. Sometimes it just takes longer for it all to click!

Maddy'sMom replied: My Madison is 16 1/2 months, and she has been saying daddy and momma forever...she says bye bye, along with bringing us our shoes when she wants to go! We've been waiting for her to say more words...she talks non stop, but only 3-4 actual words we recognize! I would expect her to say baby, ball, milk, etc..but she doesn't yet. She knows what ALL the words we say to her mean, she just won't say them herself yet! unsure.gif

However, we have no worries, since her languge comprehension is excellent. She understands everything, knows how to ask for what she wants, and she follows all directions.

We know she will have a language explosion any day now!

camneely8 replied: My eldest is 20 months and doesnt say any legible words. Has his own language. Hes in a dual language house and his dad (yours truly) only started talking at 2.5 years smile.gif We arent worried about it at all cause his comprehension is excellent and knows how to 'say' what he wants in his own way. Also once he starts talking Im sure Ill wish for these days smile.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Emilie just turned 2 on dec 28th... she speaks in full sentences, and she has lots of them, she speaks very clearly. She enunciates. She speaks mostly french though - only a litle bit of spoken english... but she understands it perfectly.

MyLuvBugs replied: Lorelei is now 1 year, and says Dadda all day long!! rolleyes.gif She says momma or mommy only if she's scared or hurt. She says "All Done" and "Thank you" although they sound more like "Ah Don" and "Tank To". Close enough. smile.gif

She's trying to say kitty and actually I've heard her try and say the cats names (Dezel and Evey). And of course her FAVORITE word is "NO!" I get that a lot. smile.gif

coasterqueen replied: I can't even imagine how many words Kylie says at this age, but I do know how many she was saying at 9 months only becuz I just looked at her journal the other day. She was saying "mama, baby, bob, book and baba (bottle)" at 9 months. Kylie has always been a very vocal girl and says words I didn't even think she knew or could say. happy.gif Megan has yet to say anything that one could understand. happy.gif Her sister talks so much for the entire household who knows when Megan will talk. emlaugh.gif But last night her babble got clearer so I'm wondering if she'll start to say something we can understand soon.

fashionmumofboys replied: My 2 year old is a talking machine and loves to repeat everything we say, so we have to be very careful.

My 3 year old also loves to talk.

Hi all, I am new here. Was looking for more boards on children with special needs! But, am checking a few topics out along the way. Let's see where to start with Will. He turned 2 Nov. 13th and he has been talking since the c-section, or so it seems!! ohmy.gif He can have a conversation with you since about 15 months. He can sing Twinkle twinkle little star, row your boat, Bear theme sog and others from the big blue house, veggie tales songs, Go Diego do, Dora...MANY MORE. He tells me enough mom when I am kissing him too much!! wub.gif He says "here mom phone for you, talk NOW!" and the NOW he screams!! lol He knows thousands of words. If you ask where something is and its behind you he'll say ahind you mom! He knows in front, on, in , on top, below. under. Knows all his body parts when pointed to, including shoulder, wrist, knee, eye brows, eyelashes.

His speech is FABULOUS! However, i think this is God's way of evening the playing field. He has KYPHOSIS, Hump back curvature of the spine. He is soooo short everyone thinks he's just a year! LOL... Really smart for a year! lol. So we have lots of Dr. appts and MRIS and CAR RIDES!! sad.gif So it's a good thing he is advanced somewhere right!

Our firend is a Speech Therapist, she said he functions at the level of a 33 month in the speech dept! YIPPEE!! However, at two they only need 7 functioning words. Which blew my mind. ad will beging consentents shortyl thereafter! So I guess when will is supposed to be getting all these words he already had, thats when we will have his MRIS and Dr. appts! One glass is half full and the other is half empty I guess.

Good luck to all and hope to get to know everyone. Also does anyone know of special needs parents on this board? THANKS!!
