what animal is your child(ren)? - from Jennifer's post

kimberley wrote: seeing how fun cameragirl's thread was for us as animals, what animal would you assign your children and why? tongue.gif

cameragirl21 replied: HEY!!!! I'm the only one allowed to assign animals here!
j/k, bring it on, let's hear about the cubs, pups, kittens, guppies, etc.... rolling_smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied: Katherine-something loud & chatty, energetic, thoughtful, smart, funny & gentle...why! by George, I think we may have another lemur on our hands! rolling_smile.gif Either that, or a Hyacinth Macaw (the blue one). Their eyes seem intelligent to me.

Lauren-easy...a goat. She's stubborn but lovable. Somewhat sneaky and she will butt her way in where she isn't wanted all day long. She's fearless and she will eat anything. Oh, and she's a capricorn so that helps. laugh.gif We actually call her the goat around here.

How did I do Jennifer? wink.gif

cameragirl21 replied: btw, if you guys show me a pic of your children, i can tell you what animal they are. i can tell a lot from a pic, that's why i'm the cameragirl. wink.gif
ETA--i meant to say i have seen your girls on that website when you posted it before, Cary, once i reread the whole, "i have seen your girls, Cary" it sounded a little creepy to me, like i've been lurking in the bushes behind your house or something and don't worry, i haven't.

cameragirl21 replied: hmmm, Katherine is a deep thinker, i can tell from her pictures, i'd say she's a beluga whale.
and Lauren--a peacock for sure.
JMO of course, i wouldn't presume to second guess you.

kit_kats_mom replied: OK. you can see my girls at my website: http://www.carywright.com

cameragirl21 replied: i have seen your girls, Cary, and that's what i based my assessment on. happy.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
peacock I can see but I dare say, belugas may be a bit too calm for my nervous and loud little munchkin. rolling_smile.gif

ZandersMama replied: Zan would be a dog, because he thinks he is to the point that he cocks his leg when he walks by telephone poles and barks when the doorbell is rung. Zav I dont know yet, a monkey maybe with the long arms rolling_smile.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
OMG! You have a dog too? Katherine was at the playground the other day on all fours digging in the sand with her rear leg. She also likes to play fetch. rolleyes.gif What is with all that role playing? rolling_smile.gif

cameragirl21 replied: Cary, K is only nervous b/c she thinks the world cannot understand her and that makes her uneasy, like she can't quite find her place or where she fits in but in reality there is a calm within her.
she is quite centered within for a four year old, or so i gather from what i've seen of her pictures.

redchief replied: I'm trying, but I need some help (you all know how creative I am -- NOT).

Rick - Enjoys being alone but does well in groups, doesn't need to be the center of attention, somewhat lazy, but does what he has to, likes to play video games (passionately).

John - Rick's opposite, a go-getter, never satisfied, competitive but can lose with grace and walk away, can lead or follow as needed.

Erin - Firey defender of the meek and weak, boistrous, opinionated and stubborn, but very emotional and passionate.

Katie - is intelligent, picks up on subtlties easily, keeps a few close friends and isn't interested in casual aquaintences, very sensitive and touchy.

Help!

cameragirl21 replied: oh, Tish, Mikee is a monkey for sure, he is tricky, he is the type of little monkey in the Amazon that hops from branch to branch super fast.
And Andy is a tiger cub for sure, very playful and curious but a bit obstinate and wants answers/explanations for everything.
And Ed, if you want my help you need to post pics, i only work with pics that's why i'm the cameragirl. wink.gif

My3LilMonkeys replied: Jennifer, I'm not good with animal descriptions, so I'll share some comments, and their pics you can see in my signature - I'd love to hear what you think!

Brooke is feisty and playful. She is incredibly curious, has an active imagination and is very observant and quick to pick up on things.

Madison is stubborn and determined. She is affectionate and has a tendancy to be very independant. She's a very happy-go-lucky kind of kid.

mom2my2cuties replied: You are right on with both the kids

Mikee - He is a somewhat shy, fairly meek, loving, smart and sneaky little stinker. He is also fairly emotional...Takes the weight of the world upon himself.

Andy - She is a silly thing (funny you should mention a tiger cub as right now she is batting a ball around with the cat) - Playful, fun, definately into doing her own thing, a bit stubborn and oh so curious.

ETA - Can you do Andrew for me too??? He hasn't posted here in a while but here is a picture of him.

Andrew

cameragirl21 replied: hmmm, Brooke is definitely something predatory...i don't need descriptions, just pics and i can see it in her pic. i would say a mountain lion. she appears to be very perceptive and looks for people's weakness and i don't mean that in a bad way, i just think she's already figured out how to manipulate certain people to get her way.
Madison is a more gentle animal from what i can see--a lamb with very soft fur but that doesn't exactly walk with the flock if kwim, she is the kind of lamb that only walks where she wants to walk and only grazes where she wants to graze.

gr33n3y3z replied:
here is a pic of the family and look for Redchief

http://forums.parentingclub.com/index.php?...pic=40775&st=75

cameragirl21 replied: wow, Tish, Andy is VERY smart and shrewd. Don't get mad b/c i don't mean this in a bad way but Andy is a typical rat, they are the smartest, shrewdest animals around and they find a way to fit into small spaces, aka get around obstacles in real life and find a way in w/o butting their way in like a goat or larger animal would do.

My3LilMonkeys replied:
You nailed them both perfectly!!! Brooke definately knows how to manipulate to get what she wants, and you can't make Madison do anything she doesn't want to.

hug.gif You are really great at this!

cameragirl21 replied: Ed and Lisa, i need a better pic than that, i would prefer a pic of each child but if it's a group shot i need a clear view of all their faces and need them in a more natural environment then when they are forced to pose against their will as they clearly were in that picture.
not to knock the picture but it has, "mom and dad, i don't want to be doing this" written all over it.

redchief replied:
Why do you think we don't post many pictures? laugh.gif
We're AWFUL at it. emlaugh.gif

Honestly I don't know that we have any that don't say, "I really don't want to be here."

cameragirl21 replied: Ed, you don't have any pics of them separately? they don't have to be the best pics of them i just prefer a pic where the focus is only one person, makes it a lot easier for me to figure that person out.

CantWait replied: Well Anthony I think would be a bull, because he's stubborn and tempermental.
Robbie is quiet and reserved, shy, but not so shy, he makes friends easily, and is emotional, I think he'd be a dolphin.

Jennifer if you want to take a crack at it.

Here's my website with the kids pictures:

Marie's Website

CantWait replied:
Omgosh Lisa and Ed, I never saw that pic. It's hilarious. Your guys picture and family shows as much character (and I'm saying that as a good thing) as you do on the board. I love it.

cameragirl21 replied: Marie, your oldest is inquisitive and easily interested but also easily bored. IMO he's a large predatory bird like an eagle, flying around looking for something of interest.
your youngest is much more gentle and turned on by many things, he's less easily bored but more apt to get into trouble i think he is a cinnamon colored Australian sugar glider.

PrairieMom replied: I don't know what animal Ben is, but here are some traits
crazy
hyper
bouncy
loud
clingy
stubborn

And here is Ally

tiny
quick tempered
loud
cute
uncordinated.

I don't know what animals they are, but it sure is a zoo over here! laugh.gif

kimberley replied: Jacob IS Rafiki! lol he is wise beyond his years, incredibly thoughtful and deeply insightful. he is a kind old soul.

James, also in the monkey family, is a chimp. always vying for attention and approval but can be violent when wronged. very affectionate but aloof at the same time.

Jade is a pink flamingo. preening her feathers and proud of her pinkness. very girly, sensitive and shy until she feels comfortable.

Kaleigh is a fawn. innocent, playful, happy and a little awkward and does not realize her own strength.

happy.gif

Jennifer, if you type in any of my kids' names in search, you will find loads of pics in threads i started if you want to give your analysis. wink.gif

cameragirl21 replied: K, you don't have any pics of them handy? it's hard for me to do a search and know who's who but if you have any handy pics then i can tell you what i think.

CantWait replied:
LOL that's funny. I wish I could say you had Anthony right on, but it couldn't be further from who he is except the trouble part. rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif rolling_smile.gif

cameragirl21 replied: Marie, i think your little guy is a gentle soul, he's just a typical toddler. sugar gliders are very active, playful and curious but they also love to be cuddled...they are marsupials!

kimberley replied: ok, these are all last month..

ETA.. L to R...

Kaleigh, Jade, Jacob, James

cameragirl21 replied: awww, cute kids, K! I can't see the boys in that pic enough to tell but i can definitely work with the girls.
Ok--the blonde--a little red fox for sure IMO--she seems shy, but not as innocent as she lets on and curious, will fight for what she believes to be hers. also seems to like to scope a situation out before entering, kind of like a fox hiding behind a tree but looking out to see what's going on.
and the baby--a giraffe--no offense but cute as she is, she doesn't seem graceful like the older one so i picture her strutting kind of like a giraffe but like a giraffe she will find a way to get what she wants, there is a persistence there, and a playfulness...lol, have you seen the way giraffes stick out their long tongues to get a berry from a tree.

Jamison'smama replied: Okay, I will link to photobucket if it works, it is easier than resizing so if this is okay...these are more recent and I think better than the sig picture...which I can't change because of website issues...poor me....

My Kids

password is 55245524

cameragirl21 replied: Oh, Brenda, your children are literally cats and dogs!
For Jama--she is sweet but fiesty, knows what she wants, goes after what she perceives to be hers...lion cub for sure--fun, playful, just don't P her off. btw, hope that language was appropriate for PC.
And your son, lol, wolf pup, definitely--loyal, playful, cuddly but will howl at the moon when he doesn't get his way.
Edited for g rating approval of language use.

Maddie&EthansMom replied: My kids are in my siggy. Let me know if you want more pics.

Jamison'smama replied: Yep, that's them--they fight like cats and dogs as well.

cameragirl21 replied: Maddie is a cutie, strikes me as a girly girl type but one who can stand her ground and stand up for herself...makes herself heard. Siamese cat--feminine, sweet but they are the most vocal of cats and meow their brains out to get attention or to get what they want.
and Ethan--puppy, possibly a golden retriever but some kind of playful breed. sweet, loyal, playful, can be a little rough at times andcan be loving to get his way, just like a puppy sticking his head in your lap so you'll give him treats.

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
emlaugh.gif Mine, too.

CantWait replied:
LOL oh boy, you need to spend a day with my gentle wonder boy. Yes he does have his gentle moments that's for sure, but mainly they are reserved for mommy dearest. Anyone else better watch out and get out of his way. laugh.gif

Maddie&EthansMom replied:
You are so right on. laugh.gif I'm going to have to print this for their baby books. happy.gif

coasterqueen replied: Oh crud, I'm on dh's laptop and mine is being worked on so I don't have pics to share right now. This is fun though!

cameragirl21 replied: sugar gliders are the same way though, Marie, they are loyal to one person only and want attention just from that one person. otherwise they are social and get into trouble either on their own or in groups but they're always into something...keeps them from getting bored.

kimberley replied: this better?

cameragirl21 replied: lol, K, watch out for that one on the left, he is going to be so into girls and they're going to be so into him! Smart boy, deep thinker but more action oriented--black stallion, nuff said.
And the one on the right seems a little more emotional, not so openly brazen, pensive, seems his feelings may be more easily hurt and he reacts by lashing out...great blue heron.

redchief replied:
I do, but they're just as bad. I'll see if I can reduce some for your perusal. Don't expect much

MomToJade&Jordan replied: Your good Jenn. thumb.gif Here are my girls:

cameragirl21 replied: Carrie-Ann, Jade is a sneaky little thing, watch out for her when she's a teenager. She is a foxy fox, feminine but sly and sneaky.
And the little one, how precious--bunny rabbit, fuzzy with cottony tail and big loppy ears---she is so sweet and cuddly but will be a bit more rambunctious as she grows...will eventually turn into a jackrabbit!

MomToJade&Jordan replied: That would be my girls in a nutshell. wub.gif

I kind of equate her to a chihauha (sp) small, but with a BIG presence.

Christian is the a sweetie, but one you would least suspect to do wrong rolleyes.gif , so maybe something that creeps in the shadows?

Kelly, Logan is a cougar.
Nicole--Christian looks like a climber and a bit of an acrobat--flying squirrel.
and Kellie looks like a cuddlebug--long haired kitten.
Braedon and Tanner's pics aren't loading for some reason.

cameragirl21 replied: Nichole, wow, look at your sons!
Braedon (the dark haired one, right?) is a ram and Tanner (the blonde?) is a bull.
wow, talk about testoterone overload, boys r us is right!

Edit: I took out signature and extra pictures. One picture should do it .... they are so big.

Hillbilly Housewife replied: Hmmm...

I think Zach might be a snapping turtle. Very calm, graceful, intelligent...but quick to snap at you when being annoyed.

Emilie is a little labrador puppy. Cute and cuddly, intelligent, but she gnaws on everything and wants to be cuddled all the time. Oh and she peed on the floor a couple times recently too. rolleyes.gif

Naomie i see as a little Rhino. She's playful, forceful, LOVES her mama (almost too much... laugh.gif ) and butts in all the time. She's sure not shy to take her place, and she charges at her siblings when they bug her.

I don't know... you tell me!

These were taken at the end of September when we went out of town for a funeral. My FIL took them, and he is clueless about centering and lighting etc... rolleyes.gif

cameragirl21 replied: AmyMom, it's hard for me to tell about Billy with his sun glasses on b/c i need to see eyes to tell so i could be wrong but i get the impression that Billy acts aloof but inside is much more emotional, he just likes to hide his feelings and pretend to be strong. He also strikes me as the explorer type--curious what is out beyond the horizon. But he's smart and clever and knows how to disguise himself if you know what i mean. so i think he's definitely some kind of bird, flying around trying to explore the world, ready to take off at the first sign of discomfort...i'd say a quaker parrot--they are much smaller than a regular Amazonian parrot (a quaker is just bigger than a full sized parakeet) and not quite as colorful but still they have a bright green color to them with a red belly. They are persistent--they build their nests on top of electric poles and when the electric company tears down their nest they just come back the next day and build a new one. They like to sing and make themselves heard but if you look right at them and they perceive you to be threatening they shut up right away and look at you like, "who me, making noise, nah, it was someone else." They like to fly around, checking everything out but always go back to their nests at the end of the day as they feel most comfortable at home. hope that made sense and like i said, it's hard when i can't see eyes but Billy seems fairly translucent if you kwim. Notice i didn't say transparent b/c i think that is way too strong a word in his case.
As for Mary Beth, she is more of a cuddly animal who seems a bit finicky when it comes to her desires, tastes, and interests. She seems to be able to tell a mean person out of a crowd and wants to avoid that person like the plague, she is all heart as long as you don't cross her path the wrong way but in the end she strikes me as a little too forgiving. She is a baby seal, but not a fur seal like Leann but rather those brown colored seals that live in very cold water. They can stay warm under the worst of conditions, are always cute and playful and are a bit too trusting--sometimes end up as a great white or orca's dinner but are smart enough to outsmart the great white as long as they're not caught from behind...they instinctively know how to jump around in order to wear down the shark and make it give up on them. And these baby seals are so cuddly, you should see them nuzzling each other but then when they get bored or tired of it they just hop into the water and swim away. they often entertain themselves doing flips and acrobatics in the water and when people are around, they like to entertain them. hope that made sense for MB.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied: Jennifer, can I ask why my little man is a cougar? I always think of him as a brave little creature. Because of the heart surgeries and all. Just wondering what you saw.

cameragirl21 replied: Rocky, oo la la, les enfants sont tres jolies!
ok, as or your baby, sorry, she reminds me of a goose! I think it may be the bonnet that screams Mother Goose. But she is like a goose i think in that they are very cuddly with their fellow gooselings and very sweet but they have been known to seriously attack people! She strikes me as the deceptively sweet type, who will adore you and then let you have it when she's done adoring you.
The boy seems like an elk--walking slowly but swiftly thru the woods, minding his own business, doing his own thing but he'll butt you with his horns if you anger him.
And the other girl with the closed eyes...it's hard to tell with closed eyes but she seems like a porcupine or a hedgehog--with quills but a very soft underbelly...very cuddly and trusting to those she knows well but prickly to others...once she gets to know you she shows you her soft underbelly but watch out till then.
And your son looks like a mini me of DH...i'd say your DH is another cloven hoofed animal with antlers, like one of those fancy gazelles in africa with the really long horns that seem harmless but they ram their antlers into leopards and cheetahs when attacked or provoked and they'll fight the big cat till the big cat gives up and runs away, they don't give up.

cameragirl21 replied: Kelly, a cougar is a very brave animal! That picture just screams cougar, i would have thought that from seeing the pic even if you hadn't asked me what animal he is. He strikes me as brave, curious, a bit of a trouble maker and mischief lover, curious but like a cat will close up into himself at times as opposed to always being loving and slobbery like a dog. He's a bit too rambunctious to be a domestic cat from what i can see in that picture. he also seems like very little scares him and he'd walk right into danger and not even see the danger if you'd let him.

MyBrownEyedBoy replied:
That is soooooo Logan. You read him perfectly.

Kaitlin'smom replied: okay let do Kaitlin

is the one in my siggy ok or do you need a bigger one?

heres one anyway

cameragirl21 replied: ohhhh, Di, Kaitlin is a pretty little princess! She's a Persian cat for sure, a white one with big blue eyes who sits atop a pink and very soft, plushy kitty bed w/ white ruffles, sharpening her little kitty claws against the fabric, purring softly and looking up at you innocently as if to say, "soooo, how will you be serving me today?" and batting her little kitty eyelashes. wub.gif

Kaitlin'smom replied: laugh.gif yep she is a princess laugh.gif

so in the cat world I wonder just how well do persians and calicos get along?

cameragirl21 replied: Persians think the world of themselves but they are very loving and loyal to their owner. Calicos are very playful and love attention.
In the end, cats love to play together as long as they each respect each other's territory!

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
Merci beaucoup!

And yes... a goose, elk and hedgehog surely describes them well. Hedgehog.. lol now I have a mental image of Emilie running aorund everywhere, chewing on stuff and prickling me when I try to get her away from stuff... rolling_smile.gif

My2Beauties replied: ok what about Hanna. She is strong-willed, stubborn, very independent, a fiery little thing (just like me tongue.gif ) and she is very mothering (always putting her babies to sleep, telling everyone to be quiet when they are asleep, feeding them, changing them, very sweet to them) and she is clingy at times to her daddy wub.gif

And Desiree. She is very outgoing, loves to dance and has lots of friends, she isn't conceited but knows she's pretty - how do you say it, she has lots of self-confidence and she's not afraid to speak her mind - at all laugh.gif

cameragirl21 replied: i need their pictures, LeaAnn, and the pics in your slideshow won't work b/c they pass too fast for me to make any sort of determination or get a feel for a person. if you have recent pics of both girls and want to post them i'll tell you what kind of animals they are.

cameragirl21 replied: Hanna looks like a roly poly type of animal that likes to play, likes to cuddle and is curious and likes to get into things, she is a snow leopard cub...i say snow leopard specifically to match your being a snowy animal.
and desiree is a horse, idk enough about horse breeds to know specific names or breeds but she is a light brown horse with a lighter tannish mane and a dark nose.

redchief replied: Okay, let's try these...

redchief replied: The one above is Rick (sorry)
Below is John.

redchief replied: Erin

redchief replied: Katie

cameragirl21 replied: ha! that first one looks like a lab rat w/his red eyes! Just kidding, he is strong but keeps secrets within and seems like he may get hurt but never tells and stews within himself. He has secrets you don't know about.
He is a grizzly bear.

cameragirl21 replied: John is a little harder to work with b/c the picture is totally overexposed and that's the first thing that gets your attention. He's a manta ray or a hammerhead shark, i can't quite decide but definitely a marine animal...i'm leaning toward manta ray.

cameragirl21 replied: ohhh, i bet Erin likes to talk back and has kept you up many a night....
she is a fox but not a bright red one, he is a light brown fox.

cameragirl21 replied: and Katie is a jokester, she is playful and likes to tease playfully and play harmless tricks on people, she is a dolphin, a Pacific one b/c her intentions are not always clear as an Atlantic dolphin seems more straight forward.
not many people know that a pacific dolphin looks different from an atlantic one--a pacific looks kind of like a baby orca!

redchief replied: Another of John... Sorry, we don't have many digital pix of him at all... not posed anyway.

ETA: I wanted to avoid putting in one with his gf, but she's in almost all of his newer pix.

cameragirl21 replied: very good looking kids, btw, Ed, and i can see that they are all very good at heart and love their parents very much even if they don't always show it.
you and Lisa should go for the tie breaker rolling_smile.gif

redchief replied:
Not too many people know there are Pacific Dolphin in the Atlantic Ocean either... I do know the difference, and I agree on Katie.

On Erin... Some nights, yes. ANd some days too! She and Rick will argue with me forever. When they're at each other it's almost impossible to separate them.

John as manta ray... I'll wait til you see the second pic to make sure you think you're on there... I think you're in the right family though.

Rick as grizzly bear. He really doesn't have the temper of a grizzly, but you were right on on all of his traits except he's pretty open. I do think he's lonely though. Do you think black bear would be better for him?

ETA: No tie breaker here. I'm spayed or nuetered. blink.gif

cameragirl21 replied: grizzlies aren't as dangerous as people think. i said grizzly b/c from afar they look like big, cute, dumb creatures but when you get closer, you see them for what they really are. it's not to say he's not open, i just think there are things he keeps to himself. i always thought of a bear as an animal that ultimately minds its own business but in the end will always defend itself when threatened.
As for John, he's definitely something aquatic but not something dangerous. i *know* that hammerheads are dangerous but they don't seem dangerous to me b/c they seem to be half smiling and have eyes on opposite sides of their heads! They can't possibly see forward that way! I want to say manta ray or some seemingly dangerous (a manta is often confused for a sting ray but it is harmless, unlike the sting ray as we recently and sadly learned with Steve Irwin) but is truly harmless. maybe John is another type of shark but a small shark that does not harm anyone, not till it gets bigger anyway. rolling_smile.gif

redchief replied: Thank you Jennifer! I think you got the girls right on, and the boys you were awfully close too. I go along with bear, but I thought black bear because he's quite dependent on family and friends and I see grizzlies as stubbornly independent. Rick does keep secrets and he'll fume for hours when something's bothering him. He doesn't communicate these things well either. Like I said, you were REALLY close from just a photo (and not a great one at that!). For John, as soon as you wrote shark I immediately thought of the dogfish; a smallish shark at four feet, has grinders instead of teeth but is feisty and quick.

cameragirl21 replied: i don't know what a dogfish is, lol, have been living in South Florida for about ten years now, have snorkeled, still haven't become scuba certified (but do plan to) and have saltwater aquariums yet don't know what a dogfish is, how dumb am i?
maybe black bear is more on the mark, i don't know much about the habits of grizzlies but they look big and cute and clutzy from afar but then you should hear them roar and see them charge, yikes! ohmy.gif

amynicole21 replied: Alright, I know what I think my kids would be, but what would YOU say about them? wink.gif

cameragirl21 replied: haha, amy, Nora looks like a cabbage patch doll!
she looks like the kind of kid who picks things off the floor and eats them if you're not looking. she is a squirrel with a big, bushy tail.
do you have a bigger pic of Sophia, i can't see her well enough in that little pic?

amynicole21 replied:
LOL - Yup. That describes her to a T.

cameragirl21 replied: ohhh, Sophia is beautiful, she is dainty and girly, she reminds me of a fairy. does she have braces already...? the pic looks like she has braces.
she is a very colorful hummingbird, flitting around. she also seems a bit bossy, especially when it comes to her little sister and somewhat protective too, she is a mama hummingbird who shares her nest with a bushy tailed squirrel. happy.gif

amynicole21 replied: That's pretty good. happy.gif I thought Nora was a skunk and Sophia was a dragonfly, so we are on the same wavelength tongue.gif

No braces yet - probably just the reflection off her slobber. biggrin.gif

kit_kats_mom replied:
I think you pegged Miss Sophia rolling_smile.gif

They are both just darling. love2.gif

cameragirl21 replied: oh, they are gorgeous, Cary, and so are yours, especially Lauren, i mean K is very pretty too but Lauren...those eyes!
remember, i'm looking at them thru the eyes of an artist, so i see them totally different than the way you do.
btw, just fyi, i work with a lot of child models and work with some of the most gorgeous kids ever made so if i tell you your child is gorgeous it really goes a long way, i hate to say it but you have no idea how many kids i turn away with regard to modeling. it's an ugly business but filled with beautiful people. wink.gif
