todays 15 week appt - UH oh
boyohboyohboy wrote: well today was to be an uneventful appt. however, I am 15 weeks and 4 days prego. and measured at 20 + weeks. so the dr is sending me for an ultrasound tomorrow. I asked him what this meant, and he said A) you got your dates wrong (which I know we dont) its due to the gestational diabetes and we got us a large baby C) we have more then one. he had a hard time finding the heart beat today.
so I am stressed. as you know I have a 15 month old that really requires lots of attention right now, and the idea of twins just freaks me out, for many reasons, but the main one is I do not feel I could carry healthy babies as long as I would need too. I have so far given birth two times early...and I get large from the gestational diabetes.....
so what are the chances??
amymom replied: I don't know the chances. I wanted to send hugs and calming vibes!
moped replied: Please let us know tomorrow.
boyohboyohboy replied: Thank you! If there is a word for above freaking out, thats where I am at right now. I am not going to sleep a wink and my appt isnt until 1pm.
moped replied: If it makes you feel any better - i measured big every month. I only had one and no gestational diabetes and a healthy dude! I also got ultrasounds all the time!
hopefulmomtobe replied: oh wow. Maybe the baby is going to be another big baby and you are just measuring big. Measuring 5 weeks ahead is also kinda crazy. You will get what you are meant to have. Things will work either way! Be strong! Everything will work out. Let us know ASAP, I will be hitting the refresh button until we hear from you!!!
A&A'smommy replied: Good luck with the ultrasound I hope it goes smoothly for you!!
boyohboyohboy replied: My other two children were large kids, well not to me, but caleb was born at 34 weeks and was 7 pounds 6 ounces then jakob was born at 37 week and was 7 pounds 14 ounces, he was induced then because I was told he was 11 pounds.... I usually also measure large but not this soon.
I havent started checking my blood sugars yet but my blood sugar test has been moved to this week instead of the normal 24 weeks... so its time for the one hour test.
3xsthefun replied: I hope everything goes well tomorrow at your ultrasound! KUP!
DillsMommy replied: Hope everything goes well!
Mommy2BAK replied: Surely everything is alright. Just keep us updated!
lisar replied: I think the diabetes is what it is. I know someone who had that and got huge. She had a 10lb baby from it. So thats what I would think for now.
Jackie012007 replied: I was borderline my whole pregnancy and measured really big from the get-go - had Carly at 38 weeks (was measuring 41) and she was 8lbs 3 oz. I bet it's GD and not twins - good luck tomorrow!
CantWait replied: Good luck. KUP.
coasterqueen replied: I bet it's the GD. My girlfriend is on her 2nd pg and has had this both times and she still has a month to go and she is HUGE. I'd swear she was having triplets if not quads. She's measuring very large so they are watching her closely and taking the baby early. Her 1st was over 9 pounds. ETA that she's measured large her entire pg.
