spinoff of cece00 post - unique names
luvbug00 wrote: I'm sure we have done this before in some facet but it feel like people are more and more trying to make their childrens names uniqe. Celebs have been doing it for years and they are starting to tame out a litle but for some ( like a coupple in china trying to name their child "@" ) having a "common" name isn't good enough anymore.
so i figured it would be fun to see what would you name your child if you didn't have to worry about your child being teased or people calling you a nut???
cameragirl21 replied: For girls, I really love the names Acacia and Kalahari, both names honor an aspect of nature. I doubt I will use either of those names though....
luvbug00 replied: Kalahari is great! I really like it and i think i'd be great to use.
I just bought 300 and would love to use "Leonidas" for a sons name. But i doubt Lars would let me. lol!
Kentuckychick replied: Well the other day in the car I told my mother I thought I would name my first two sons Jack Daniel and Samuel Adam
And then it went on from there... we added Captain Morgan (boy or girl), Margarita, and my very favorite -- Kahlua
In fact I like Kahlua... though not so much for a kid as I think I'm going to get myself a puppy and name it that
luvbug00 replied:
my friend did that. she had kalua, baily and now she has a shar pei named bachus ( the greek god of wine) really cute!
redplaydoh replied: Eisenbahn (Eee - sa - bon)
Eisenbahn is a German word for train. Swiss prounounce it like above. I thought that would be a cute name but DH gave me the "you're crazy" look. LOL
Even if he would've agreed I wouldn't have done that.
The government here doesn't allow names that would potentially be embarrassing to kids or are just weird. The registry office can deny names which I thought was interesting.
luvbug00 replied: Eisenbahn (Eee - sa - bon) ehh i can't tell lars about that one , he'd want to use it for sure! unless he has thought of it already which i'm sure he has! he loves trains and he's a german swedish.. ( i actually like it though)
TheOaf66 replied: before Tanner was born I was fighting hard for either Titus or Thor
Cece00 replied: I wouldnt use weird names. I just do not care for them.
HuskerMom replied: Dh likes the name Angus. A kid would probably get teased with that name but maybe he'd grow up to be tough. I thought it'd be cool to have twin boys and name them Castor and Camber. Dh liked that too but we didn't have twins.
TheOaf66 replied: AC/DC guitarist, perfect name
My3LilMonkeys replied: I wanted to make Brooke's middle name Areta (my grandmother's middle name) but DH thought it was .
PrairieMom replied: I like Belona, Pronounced Bee-lah-nah. for a girl I could never do it tho.
HuskerMom replied: I told him we could get a dog and name it that, just not our kid.
TANNER'S MOM replied: My name is Melba..which is why my kids have nice normal names.
But I like Elijah..it's just not main stream enough for DH
TheOaf66 replied: I tried for Elijah Mel but Jennie wouldn't go for it
Mommy2Isabella replied: Umm Pearla ... LOL
grapfruit replied: In HS my BFF and I joked that the first one to have a son had to name it Octavious.
We were watching (well suppose to be ) a movie in Science and that was like the only thing we caught. I couldn't even tell you what the movie was about. Hey we both got OVER 100% in the class (extra credit) so we didn't NEED to pay attention.
A&A'smommy replied: The only "weird" name I like its Lliana pronounced EL I anna and it goes well because Ann and Anna is my middle name, my moms middle name, grandmother and great-grandmother and I didn't use it for alyssa and I feel bad so I need to use it if I have another girl
