right wing extremists.
PrairieMom wrote: Am I missing something here? All morning I have been listening to Glenn beck and Fred Thompson and they are going off about these Tea parties and that note that was sent to law enforcement warning them of " right wing extremists. " So, they are saying that if you are Pro-life, pro gun, anti immigration you would also be considered an "right wing extremist" . Seriously?!
Sooooooo... I always thought that an "extremist" was basically someone who defended their political beliefs with violence, like the pro lifer that blows up abortion clinics.
Am I off base here? I don't generally tend to really agree with anything that these radio personalities say, but really, aren't they pretty off base here? Or am I missing something?
Not to spark a political debate or anything.
luvmykids replied: I don't consider that extremist, although according to that definition I guess I would be one
JMHO of course, but I think it's just one more way the far lefties enjoy dramatizing the righties.
PrairieMom replied: Yeah, but I think that these righties are completely stirring the pot trying scare people.
Danalana replied: I'm ambidextrous!!
msoulz replied: JMHO but it's just one more way for the talk show hosts to generate heated discussions and keep themselves in a job.
PrairieMom replied: ITA. I think my eyes rolled so hard this morning they nearly got stuck.
jcc64 replied: My advice? Don't listen to anything Glen Beck has to say.
DVFlyer replied: extremism= the actions of anyone who doesn't agree with you who lets you know in a way you don't agree with but would give back ten-fold.
PrairieMom replied: I listen to him all morning, pretty much every day. I think its good to learn where the other side is coming from, but I generally spend the whole time like
He's way out there.
PrairieMom replied: wouldn't that make you an ambidex-tremous?
TheOaf66 replied: well I guess I am an extremist then because I believe in all of those
coasterqueen replied: I don't believe in all of those, but I'd be an extremist too.
luvmykids replied: Thats exactly what I meant, just a little pot stirring.
TheOaf66 replied: which are you against Karen?
coasterqueen replied: Well, I'm more pro-choice, so not so pro-life, per se. ETA: I'm for guns, if one wants guns and really I'm for getting rid of illegal immigrants.
PrairieMom replied: No, not the tea party folks, ITA with you, I think they are just exercising their rights. Completely fine with me, go for it.
I think the media that is freaking out about how they are " right wing extremists" Trying to scare the tea party folks are string the pot, looking for trouble.
luvmykids replied: Oh gotcha, and ITA.
eta: If I'm a right wing extremist, then I sure live in the right place....there are/were about five tea parties within an hours drive
boyohboyohboy replied: I watch Glenn Beck and he has been off the wall a bit lately...
I never thought of myself as an extremist but guess this describes me here too.. makes me sound...very controversal for such a plain house wife!!Here I thought I was boring.
BAC'sMom replied: That's what I think too. Some people are just plum feed up. I am looking forward to seeing what happens at the Alamo.
I like Glenn Beck and watch him from time to time but that doesn't mean I am building a bomb shelter. His stories here lately about what is going on down on the border have been very enlightening. There's a real problem down here and it's about time the rest of the country realize that.
my2monkeyboys replied: I know the Homeland Security head issued a memo about this... essentially saying that people who agree with the aforementioned topics can be extremists... this from the lady who calls acts of terrorism man-made disasters.
