now I have seen everything.
PrairieMom wrote: Okay, so its like 42 degrees out and sunny right now. It is literally the nicest it has been in weekes and weeks. I was trying to remember the last time I went out side just to go, not to get in my car and go somewhere, and I can't. I'm sure its been since before thanksgiving. Anyway... I was walking to the school to get Ben, and there was this guy, out side, shoveling his driveway, in get this... slippers, jeans and nothing else. No shirt, no coat, no hat and mittens, just a bare back, jeans, and slippers. We are tough stock up here. FWIW, I was wearing a parka, and snow boots. well, and jeans too.
cameragirl21 replied: lol, last year (07) I visited Philly in November and it was about 40 degrees. I was dressed in layers--t-shirt, sweatshirt or sweater, fleece jacket and pants, of course, along with gloves and all and I saw people in my hotel walking around in shorts and a t-shirt and nothing else (other than sneakers) they were going out jogging like that. I thought either they are super brave or I am just a south florida wuss.
LovelyBear18 replied: I remember when I lived back on the east coast people would walk around with shorts, sandals, and tshirts on when it was in the 30's. I think we actually had snow on the ground that day too.
CantWait replied:
Did he have a hot body??
PrairieMom replied: um... no. More the "dad" type than the "hot guy" type. If you know what I mean. He was probably in his mid 40's. When we walked past he was like "Hi!" and I answered. "hi? ) " I have a very expressive face IRL.
CantWait replied:
I can only imagine.
PrairieMom replied: I have to be real careful because when I am talking a lot of times the way I FEEL shows on my face, which doesn't always match up with what I am saying. Kind of inappropriate at times. I'm sure its hard to believe.
Come to think about it, that's probably why I use so many smilies in my posts.
A&A'smommy replied: sounds like my husband!!
lisar replied: I know it was really cold up there however shoveling anything in any temp makes you HOT. So I can actually understand how he was wearing that.
Hillbilly Housewife replied: Yeah, when I shovel my driveway I usually end up in just my jeans and t-shirt.. it gets hot. It's a great physical workout!
redchief replied: It's 28' here... I saw a guy in shorts and a light t-shirt tonight. Made me shiver.
Celestrina replied: When I worked in the mall we would see customers come in wearing nothing but a t-shirt, baseball cap, shorts, and flip-flops during heavy snowstorms.
MommyToAshley replied: We saw the opposite when we went to Orlando last February. The temp ranged from the upper 60's to mid 70's. We were in shorts and t-shirts while the locals were commenting how cold it was and they were all in sweaters. I guess we adapt to our environment. But, lucky you... sounds like you got the "better" view (note sarcasm)
