laundry lines allowed

kimberley wrote: clothes lines

i am thrilled about this! MANY townhomes and subdivisions do not allow laundry lines because they are "aesthetically unpleasing". i am glad someone is thinking straight and saving people a few bucks and the environment and energy some strain. thumb.gif

Boys r us replied: That's a good thing!! I know that developers put restrictions in for a reason and for the general good of the entire development..but this is one reason I'm glad I don't live in a subdivision..no restrictions and no neighbors to bug me! Of course, I still don't have a clothes line...lol..but I should! We all should!

~Roo'sMama~ replied: thumb.gif I'm glad you can have one now!! My yard is too tiny ~ we technically could fit one in somewhere but there's so little space. wacko.gif

MommyToAshley replied: That's cool that they are allowing them now. thumb.gif

Hillbilly Housewife replied:
So are speedos, yet there they are.

I still don't know if I'm allowed one, I don't live in a townhome anymore, so I dont see why not, but NOBODY in my area has one. I've snooped. emlaugh.gif

Teesa®© replied: Unfortunately, they won't be allowed at condo's because we have "rules" we have to sign a contract for and the gov't hasn't figured out how to get around that. They're allegedly going to try to contact all condo managements to see what they can do.

I don't think there was anything about clothes lines in our rules.

coasterqueen replied: I think it's a great thing. thumb.gif

The problem tends to be that most think it's a "poor" or "trashy" thing to do. If people got that out of their heads and realized how drying clothes on the line helps us all - well this world would be a better place - it would if we used that mentality on a lot of things. rolleyes.gif

coasterqueen replied: I also noticed in a magazine this past weekend that celebs are starting to do this. thumb.gif

luvbug00 replied: in my parents community they aren't allowed clothing lines or backyard pools. Glad they are changing that there. happy.gif
