just got back from the ER....

Jamie had to leave the room because he couldn`t take it. i have to take her to the ped tomorrow morning and find out if the did a sensitivity test with the strep test. if it is not the penicillin then we are back to square one. i am just so scared right now. she can`t tell me what is hurting her, none of the doctor`s have a clue what is causing this and i am hanging by a thin thread trying not to lose it completely. she is sleeping now and looks so peaceful. i just wish i could fix her. i just want my healthy baby back.

kit_kats_mom replied: That sounds terrifying. I would have been scared too. It's so hard to watch our little ones when they aren't feeling well.

Keep us updated on her and don't let that ped off easy. If you think there is something wrong with her, then she needs to be tested for whatever it may be and get treated. I know you've had complaints about the ped before and I would hate for you to not get the answers you deserve.

coasterqueen replied: Oh no! Jade is definately in my prayers!!! Do you think the hives are an allergic reaction to penicillin? And that might be making her recovery from strep worse? Poor Jade.

kimberley replied: thank you for all the prayers. the hives started 2 days before she got the penicillin but they are concerned that the meds are making things worse for her since she wasn`t coughing or wheezing before them. the new symptoms are coming sporadically and don`t last long but when a baby has any kind of respritory problem they take extra precautions. her ped can`t see her til 2pm and she is still sleeping anyways. she was up on and off all night last night. i just nursed her and held her close and she would go back to sleep. right now they don`t want to deal with the strep or the hives until they know why she just fell asleep like that and started wheezing.

she just woke up and is very congested and has a cough. poor baby doesn`t deserve this will update after the appt.

kimberley replied: we`re back. he changed her from penicillin to amoxicillin but isn`t convinced the penicillin caused the wheezing and coughing but better to be safe than sorry. he really had nothing to offer me for advice. just keep a close eye on her and do not hesitate to call him if anything changes. he is hoping once we get the strep cleared up that the hives will go away but if they don`t then back we go again. he said the hives might be a reaction to the strep since they came together. who knows. still praying for her recovery.

I have heard that strep can cause rashes all over the body. My boss' son gets a rash on his genitals whenever he gets strep I don't know about the wheezing and sleeping thing, though I hope whatever it is goes away with the new meds and she's back to her sweet, lovable self soon!!!
